Hi Readers: What did you guys think of last chapter? I know that I started really late, and I apologize for that. However, I just want to give you guys an update about something. While I do enjoy writing long chapters for you guys, I have decided that I am going to start concentrating on writing shorter chapters rather than worry about writing long chapters for you. I'd rather concentrate on getting more than a couple chapters out a day than just one or two. So, I hope you enjoy what you get. Now, let's get back to the story which was getting quite interesting; and the question that was just posed by Gabby.

Also, quick note: I am going to be experimenting with something for transitions. I might start with one couple, then move back. I hope that you guys are enjoying the story and feel like this is good. Thanks again for reading.

"Do you think that I should just let Antonio worry about my father? And I concentrate on our life here?" -Gabby Casey

"Do you really think that you're able to do that Gabby? I mean, this is you we're talking about. Can you really say that you're just going to ignore the fact that you don't know where your dad is? Just so that you can concentrate on your recovery and the boys?" -Matt Casey

Both of the parents made very good points in their questions to each other, which were definitely going to need to be debated as they lay down close to each other in bed; well, that was the original plan. The new plan? It's for Matt to lay down on his back while leaning against a pillow, and Gabby laying down on his chest. After all, that was really what Gabby wanted to do when they're in bed with each other. She wants to lay down Matt's chest as they hold each other close, because it helps her calm down; and it gives her exactly what she needs, it gives her the calm feeling that she needs to recover. And right now, that was what she was doing as they relax in bed. She was recovering, while also doing some breathing this morning; a morning that's already been quite busy (as it's only 10 AM last time she checked the time). "Just curious, is it really just 10 AM?" Going to look at the time for his wife, Matt agreed with Gabby as she asked him if it was just 10 AM.

"Believe it or not, that's the exact time right now." Gabby agreed with Matt as he asked her that, well aware that he wasn't really thinking about the time; however, that didn't mean that she wasn't. She needed to know the time so that she can make sure that the boys are fed on time. "That means that we have another hour to an hour-and-fifteen minutes to relax before we need to take care of the boys again." Matt agreed with his wife when she said that, before turning his head and giving her forehead a sweet kiss. "Well, I'm glad that you're just taking it easy right now; after all, that's what you need to do right now." Gabby laughed, agreeing with Matt as he told her that; after all, she's well aware that she needs to take it while she recovers from giving birth to the boys. "Matteo and Noah are so adorable." Matt laughed as he agreed with Gabby, putting his hand on her back so that he can rub it; he then turned his head and kissed her forehead softly, which she wants.

"Now, that was nice of you to do." Matt laughed as she heard Gabby say that, well aware that she wanted that. "Hey, I know that you wanted it; so that's what I gave you." Gabby agreed with Matt as he mentioned that it was what she wanted from him. "Yeah, it was exactly what I needed from you if we're being honest." Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, running his hand up and down her back once again as he kissed her forehead softly. "Do you want to talk about it? How you're doing? And what you want to do about it?" Gabby sighed. "I just don't want to obsess about it, because that's not what I want to make you do when I know that you barely like talking about this." Matt shook his head. "I'm interested in talking about anything that you need to talk to me about, as long as it doesn't deal with my best friend's sex life." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that. "Now if that isn't the biggest lie in the entire world, we know that's a lie."

Matt agreed with Gabby as she told him that, as there are definitely times where he talks about it with Severide; which means that he talks about his wife's best friend's sex life too. "Isn't it a bit weird that we have best friends who are married to each other?" Gabby shook her head when she heard Matt say that. "I'm actually glad that they found each other, because I know that they're good for each other; we both know that." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, smirking as he turned his head and kissed her forehead softly. "To tell you the truth, I had this feeling that they were going to get together the moment she walked into the firehouse; but still, didn't like the fact I had two women on truck." Gabby laughed as she heard Matt say that, well aware that it wasn't the truth. "Oh shut up, you loved having me on truck; meant that you got to be the boss in the relationship for a while." Matt sighed as he heard Gabby tell him that. "And it caused us troubles."

Gabby agreed with Matt as he said that, before bending down and pressing a kiss to his chest. "I'm glad that we're past our troubles. I know that we wouldn't be here if we were still having all of those troubles before I left to go to Puerto Rico." Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before wrapping his legs around hers. "I did apologize for that right? The words I said?" Gabby laughed as she turned to look at the boys. "I would rather not like to think about that, when I would rather think about something else." Matt was confused when he heard Gabby say that. "And what's that?" Gabby smirked. "How I'm a badass woman who was right." Matt laughed when he heard Gabby say that, as that was definitely the truth. "To think, it only took you coming back last August to get pregnant." Gabby agreed with Matt when he said that. "Can I ask you for a favor?" Matt agreed with Gabby when she said that, before kissing the top of her head. "What is it?" Gabby sighed. "I want to do something, just the two of us on the anniversary of that event. I want us to remember that we love ach other, and just have some time together." Matt smiled when he heard Gabby say that, already having some nice ideas.

"A nice dinner date downstairs?" Gabby smirked as she looked up at Matt when he said that. "And we can ask my mom to go back to her place for the night?" Matt smiled. "I was starting to think we could ask your mom to go back to her place every night, then we can have the place to ourselves at night; and we can watch TV together at some points. We don't have to stay in our room all the time, and we can have the boys with us in the living room." Gabby smiled as she thought about that, but then agreed that she'd rather just stay in bed. "To tell you the truth, I think that I'd rather just stay in bed where I can be even more relaxed. And I think that we booth know that's the case." Matt agreed with Gabby as she mentioned that she's much more relaxed when they're in bed with each other. "Oh, I'm well aware that's the case." Gabby smiled as she heard Matt say that, before feeling him run his hand up and down her back. "So, I got a text from Alex recently that's interesting."

Matt laughed. "About the fact that they're having twins?" Gabby looked up at Matt when he asked her if she was talking about the fact that she (Alex) and Jay are having twins, which you are well aware they are. "How did you know that they're having twins? I haven't said anything." Matt laughed. "Kelly texted me. He warned me that Jay might be coming for advice on how to deal with a twin pregnancy, while also dealing with PTSD." Gabby took a breath when she heard Matt say that, well aware of the fact that both her husband and Jay are going to have that same experience in common. "To tell you the truth, I think that you guys should talk; you guys can definitely lean on each other." Matt took a breath when he heard Gabby say that, because he didn't think that they could really relate to each other. "I just don't feel like we could really relate, as our scenarios are both so different." Gabby was confused when she heard Matt say that they can't relate.

"How do you feel that's the case baby? Talk to me and tell me why you feel that way." Matt took a breath. "He's dealing with it with a service dog, I didn't have a service dog. He has a dog to help him out. Max. I didn't have a dog helping me while you were pregnant." Gabby took a breath, agreeing with Matt as he said that; and started to think about that. "Matt, can I ask you a question that you need to tell me the truth about?" Matt turned his head and agreed with Gabby. "Always baby." But before she could answer, Matt heard something on his phone. "Baby." Matt sighed. "It's the doorbell at the penthouse." Gabby agreed with Matt, before letting Matt grab his phone. Reaching for his phone, Matt went to look at the camera to see Jay and Alex in the elevator with Jay looking sweaty. He then went to speak to Jay and Alex. "You do realize that you need to come to the big house to see us right?" Seemingly shocked as they heard Matt's voice, Jay looked around on the camera.

"It's a video doorbell. You have the app on your phone. You guys headed back to your place?" Alex then spoke up. "Sorry, going to the beach with Max so that we can run him for a while." Jay then spoke up. "Sorry about that, did we wake up the boys?" Matt laughed. "They're fast asleep, it alerts me on my phone. Have fun at the beach, and make sure that you guys keep working on that Police plan." Jay agreed. "Uhm, Antonio said not without him; and I want to take time with Alex. We're going out to find our own place, and work on the nursery while we can." Gabby agreed. "Then have fun. Let us know about the genders as soon as you can. You get second pick behind Stella!" Jay laughed. "We're just going to wait until they're done. Send all of the clothes to them okay?" Gabby agreed. "Sure, thing Jay. Have a good day with Alex and Max." Max then barked, which made the couple laugh. "Oh, can we use the pool at..." Matt agreed with Jay. "Jay, we're not there. Go ahead."

Jay agreed with Matt when he said that. "Thanks Matt. Have a good day." Jay then proceeded to hang up the phone so that hecan let the new parents have some time with their sons; at the same time, Mattwent to set his phone down so that he and Gabby could rest. Just laying herhead down on Matt's chest, Gabby smiled due to the fact that she was reallyhappy to be taking it easy with her husband; the man that she loves, Matthew Casey.

Meanwhile, with the Halsteads at Casey HQ:
The couple decided that the conversation that they were about to have with each other was not a conversation that was good to have inside, not when it may lead to his wife's head spinning; and just why would his head spin for a while? Well, that would be due to the fact that they're about to talk about some things that are most definitely not stuff that he wants to concentrate on with her while she's pregnant. She's going to obsess with some of the things that she's thinking about upstairs, and that's not something that they need to do. Just holding Alex's hand with their fingers intertwined, Jay smiled as he turned to look at his wife so that he can make sure that she relaxes on their way downstairs to the beach. Yes, because that's where they couple are going right now; they're on their way to the beach. And he hopes not just to talk.

Jay actually decided to wear some swim trunks with a shirt that he can easily slip off for his wife, along with bringing the beach bag; and that was a dead giveaway to the wife as to what her husband wants to do. "I hope you know that we can make this a date if you want, not just a time where we can talk." Taking a breath as she heard Jay say that, Alex got close to him as she wrapped her arms around his muscular bicep; at the same time, she held his hand with their fingers intertwined. "You've been working out some." Jay agreed with Alex mentioned that he's been working out. "Of course, I have, because I know that it turns you on." Alex laughed as she heard Jay say that, well aware that he wants to turn her on as much as he can. However, that was not the entire reason that he was holding Alex's hand right now; as it was also to give her comfort.

With the recent news that they got, with regards to the fact that the company is on hold right now for the sake of Gabby taking it easy while Antonio tries to find her dad; it's just been bringing back a lot of feelings that Alex had recently. More specifically, about how she feels close to her father; yet, she also feels so far away from him right now. And she's not just talking physically, but emotionally too; Alex always felt like she and her father had this great way of communicating with each other, but she's wondering whether that's the case anymore in light of the fact that he hid the fact that he had some heart problems. And ever since she learned that from her brother-in-law, it's been bothering her; and Jay knows that it's bothering her. In fact, it's the entire reason that the couple are going to the beach today; he wants her to just take it easy with her, as they try and concentrate on each other. After all, Alex needs to relax right now for the sake of their girls.

Well, for what he hopes is girls. Jay and Alex (unlike Kelly and Stella) have yet to find out the gender of their twins, and it's certainly a topic of conversation that they have on their mind a lot; they want to know the gender, so that they can start making the nursery. But as you know, that's not the thoughts that are currently on Alex's mind as they walked through the revolving door that was taking them from the lobby out to the real world. "Max, slow down! You need to do it the right away, remember?" Jay then went to make sure that he was in the same door as Max, which led to him letting go of Alex's hand. Realizing that Jay let go of her hand, Alex's head came back into reality so that she could make sure that she was safe in the door. Pushing it on her way out, Alex smiled as she got ready to just spend some time with her husband at the beach. Looking at her husband once she was out of the building, Alex could see that Jay was not the happiest right now.

"I'm sorry that happened." Alex shook her head, snickering a bit. "It's okay Jay, honestly. I mean it when I say that. Don't even worry about the fact that you had to let go of my hand. All that matters is that we're outside with Max now. And so far, it's great." Alex then looked at Max, smiling at him. "Isn't that right Maxy?" Max barked at Alex as he said that, which just made the couple laugh. After which, Jay got close to Alex once more so that he could wrap his arm around her and just hold her close. At the same time, Alex put her hand on Jay's back while leaning up to kiss the man she loves more than anything in the entire world. "I love you." Jay agreed with Alex as she told him that she loves him, which is something that he never doubted. He then proceeded to grab her hand and intertwined their fingers so that they can make their way to the beach. "So, we really going to swim while we're at the beach?" Alex laughed when she heard Jay ask her if they're going to swim.

"I'm actually really interested in swimming with you, that way we can take it easy with each other in the ocean." Jay smirked when he heard Alex say that, thinking about it in a dirty way. "Take it easy, as in sexual? Or just relaxing?" Alex shook her head when she heard Jay say that, not that happy with her husband that he would think so sexually; then again, she would probably do the same thing while they're at the beach. Her husband is such a hunk, and she's so happy that he's all hears. "Not sure yet. All I know, is that I am definitely interested in getting your hands all over me when we're at the beach." Jay agreed with Alex as she said that, especially since he wants the same thing. "And you don't think that I wat the same thing? I want to have my hands all over you too Alex." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, smiling as they're going to have a lot of fun with each other when they're at the beach. "By the way, I'm still waiting for that date." Jay laughed.

"You really want to go on a date, don't you Alex?" Alex agreed with Jay when he asked her that, before smiling at her husband as he asked her whether she wants to go on a date. "Yes, yes I do." Jay smirked when he heard Alex say that, as he wanted to go on a date with her too. "Then we'll go on a date." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that, definitely ready to do just that; but little did Alex know, that there was this little surprise that Jay set up for her when he took his run this morning. Yes, this was not the first time that Jay was outside today; rather, it was the second time that he was outside...and for a very good reason. A reason that Alex will very much enjoy, and Jay is certain of that.
XXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

They just finished making their way to the beach this morning, the beach where Jay has a nice surprise set up for his beautiful wife; one that he can't wait to surprise her with, especially when it may lead to the both of them having some fun with each other when they get home. Taking off her sandals as soon as they got to the beach today, Alex smiled as she bent down with the goal of grabbing them; however, she couldn't do it because Jay got them first. "Let me." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, smiling as that was definitely something that she wanted him to do. She wanted him to take care of her in the best way that he can, which he most certainly is doing right now. Just making their way down the beach, Alex smiled as she laid her head down on his arm and just cuddled up to him; after all, this was everything that she wanted to do with Jay right now. She wanted to hold her man close to her as they just take it easy with each other, which Jay knows.

"So, are we getting in the water? Or are we going to just relax on the beach?" Jay laughed when he heard Alex ask him whether they're going into the water, or if they're going to just relax in the sand. "I think that we're going to do both to tell you the truth. In fact, I already know that we're going to do both; and that's because I have plans already set up for today." Alex was confused when she heard Jay tell her that. "What do you mean?" Jay smiled as he continued to lead Alex towards the thing that he set up for the both of them today. "I may have actually gone out a bit earlier than you thought." Alex was a bit perplexed when she heard Jay tell her that. "What do you mean Jay?" Jay then smiled as he wrapped his arm around her, which then led to him leading her right towards the beach setup that he has here for the both of them. "What do you think of a nice beach picnic for a breakfast?" Turning her head to look at what Jay set up, Alex was shocked.

"Jay..." Jay smirked when he heard Alex say that, well aware that she clearly enjoyed what she was looking at right now. "Do you like it?" Alex agreed with Jay when he asked her whether she likes what he's set up for her. The beautiful picnic blanket, under a shade and somewhere they can take it easy. "Oh, I am so going to be eating those croissants." Jay agreed. "Too bad we can't have the eggs I made and brought here this morning, we took too much time." Alex agreed with Jay when he said that. "Awe, you made eggs for me?" Jay agreed with Alex, smiling as he looked at the woman he loves more than anything. "Surprise." Alex smiled as she got close to Jay and then kissed him softly. "Can't wait to taste them." Jay was shocked. "Really?" Alex agreed with Jay as he asked her whether she was ready to taste the eggs, because she most certainly was. She then looked at her husband. "Help me get down?" Jay agreed with Alex as he went to do just that.

Jay then looked at Max and then went to go take off his leach. "Stay nearby boy." Max barked, agreeing with his owner. "Here, let me get down and you can lean back against my chest." Alex agreed with Jay as he told her that, ready to do just that. Taking off his shirt before he got on the beach, Jay smirked as he saw Alex smirking at him. He then threw the shirt towards her as a way to tease her. Setting it down on the side after she caught it, Alex smirked as she watched Jay sit down.

Moving to get down with Alex on the beach, Jay smirked as he was ready to hold the woman he loves in his arms. And let's just say that it didn't take Alex long to do just that. Crawling over to him so that they could cuddle up to each other on the beach, Alex smiled as this was exactly what she wanted to do right now; she wanted to cuddle up to her hunk of a husband, while enjoying a nice breakfast with him. And boy, what a nice breakfast this one will be (Jay hopes).

Leaning back against his chest once she was sitting in between his legs, Alex smiled due to the fact that she was very comfortable. At the same time, Jay wrapped his arms around her and just kissed the side of her head this morning. "I love you." Alex agreed with her husband when he said that, smiling as she felt the same way. "I love you too, and I want to thank you for doing this bae. This is perfect, and more than I needed." Jay agreed with Alex when she said that, smiling as he was glad that she was happy right now; but little did he know, was that him putting butter on the croissants would be one of the worst mistakes that he ever made.
