Y/n's pov.
I eat my last strawberry and wipe my hands with a napkin Jemma gave me.
" What was it like living in the outer lands? " Faris asked.
" Not so bad when you grow up there, but most of the time is just us harvesting crops " I said and look around this city.
We're in another part and there's so much to see, shoe shops, fabric shops, weapon shops, blacksmith's, potion shops, bakeries, there's so much to see. We continue to walk down this market and my eyes caught something colorful, I turn my head to left and look through a window, it's a paint shop.
I see different paints are displayed with different size of canvas, paint brushes and other stuff.
" Would you like to head inside? " Faris asked and I nod excitingly.
We enter the shop and I immediately go after to the shelf of paints, I smile and see the different colors that I didn't have back at the outer lands. I pick up a jar of gold paint and hold it near the sunlight as it shines like glitter and jewelry. I pick up another color which is oceanic blue and there are other shades of blue, I put down the gold jar and pick up a big brush which I never held a big brush except a broom.
" Interested in paints? " I look to my right where a man approaches me and I smile.
" It's a hobby " I said and put the jar back on the shelf.
" This shelf is one set of the highest quality in this kingdom " he gestures.
" This whole shelf? " I asked, he nods.
" How do you know it's the highest quality? "
" The paints shine in the sun, meaning it's made out of oclirian, a very rare mineral that is used to make paint, he's telling the truth " Faris approaches me.
" You study rocks? " I asked.
" I went to school too you know " he said, I snicker then sigh as I look up at this shelf.
There's gotta be at least more than fifty jars with different color shades of each section, each level has more than thirty colors, they even got names written down.
" How much? " Faris asked, I turn to him in confusion.
" 2,700 risterals, along with this canvas " said the man as he gestures to a canvas which is as big as a table.
" Oh " I said and put back the brush.
" Do you want it? " I look up at Faris.
" Umm, it's expensive " I said, he raise his brow.
" And we're in a noble family which you can pay " I smile and he smiles.
" We'll take the whole shelf, goes the same with the canvas, we'll have someone pick it up this afternoon, make sure there's not one missing " Faris said.
" Oh, it's a deal! " The man laugh with excitement.
" I'll get the papers " he walk pass us and I look at Faris with a smile.
" Seriously? " I asked.
" You'll get used to it more " he said.
I excitingly then launch myself at him.
" Whoa! " He backs up.
" Thank you!, Thank you!, Thank you! " I squeeze and he chuckles.
" Your welcome " he said and I pull apart.
" Go sign the papers! " I push him and he laughs.
" Calm down " I give him a one last push and he approaches the man by the counter who took out a sheet of paper.
I look back at this shelf and stand here like an idiot with a big smile.
" I'll see you guys later " I whisper.
" Hey, come on " I turn around to see Faris by the door.
I head out and he opens it for me as we leave the shop, we head down the same direction we went before.
" How did you come with the hobby of art? " Faris asked.
" We used to use berries and flowers to make paint back at home, but they would always get ants " I said.
" I didn't know you could turn berries into paint, I heard that you could make paints with eggshells too " he said.
" Yeah, but most of them don't work out and takes a longer process " I said, he nods.
" I see " he said.
We pay attention walking and I can hear a music band playing music on the streets, seems like it's just instrumental. I bob my head tot he beat and skip down this path as I notice a couple of people in pairs are dancing together to the music. I walk pass them when Faris nudge me, I look up at him in confusion.
" What? " I asked.
" Look over there by the jewelry shop " he gestures and I look over to see two men who just left a shop and ahead of me, seems like their making their way here.
" Tall one is Declan " he said and it's a man with brunette hair and aqua eyes.
" Shorter is Yeshua " he said.
He has blond hair and two different color eyes, his right eye is green and left eye is hazel.
" Whoa, Yeshua's eyes " I said.
" He was born with it " he said.
" Let's go say hi " he said and we approach them while they're walking up to us without realization.
I see Faris was about to get their attention but I stop him, I walk over to the side and go around them, I approach the middle then slap my hands on their shoulder.
" Boo! " I said.
" Ah! " Both of them yells and they turn to me and I laugh.
" What the hell is wrong with you lady?! " Yeshua asked, I just laugh then hold my stomach.
" I got him Faris " I said as I calm down and Faris is just smiling as he stand there.
" What?, Who's this? " Declan gestures to me and I fold my arms.
" Boys, meet our little sister " Faris said.
They both turn to me and I smile with a wave.
" Hello, brothers "
~ Time Skip ~
" Faris' gifts are better " I said as I hold this wooden figure of an owl Declan hand carved by himself, it's still beautiful though and varnished, the size of my hand though.
Yeshua got me a fancy ring.
" How is this better than our gifts? " Yeshua asked as we walk up the steps to the mansion.
" He bought a whole shelf of paints for me " I smile and the door opens for us.
" You son of a bitch " I hear Declan said and we enter.
" What?, I was across the kingdom and you were in this city, how did you not find anything faster than me? " Faris asked.
" Last minute gifts are usually the best " Declan said.
" Nope " I turn around to them.
" Faris' gift is still better " I said.
" Of course he would buy a whole store for you, he's just abusing the family's money " Yeshua said, I chuckle.
" It's fine, you guys don't have to get these for me, I'm already happy mom brought me home and it's nice to meet you all " I said.
" Well, you can tell how excited we were knowing we have a sister " Yeshua said.
" Oh by the way, mom says one of you have a cat, I don't see it anywhere " I said.
" It's Elliot's " Faris said.
" So who's older?, Elliot or Eli? " I asked.
" Elliot " they all said in unison.
I hear a fourth voice so I turn around to see a man walking down the stairs on the foyer, he has dirty blond hair and dark blue eyes. I back up because he is a little intimidating to look at and honestly I already smell the perfume from here.
" Y/n this is Anthony, uncle Jack's eldest son " Yeshua said.
" Oh " I said.
" So your the illegitimate daughter " he said.
" Illegitittysaurus what? " I asked.
" Illegitimate " he said.
" Might need to write that down for me later " I said.
" You don't need to clarify that for her " Faris said.
I stand here awkwardly as my three big brothers are being standoffish while Antony smiles, and I stand here in the middle.
" Umm, if you will excuse me. . . " I step aside.
" It's nice knowing you, I'm gonna go explore around " I smile and leave the tension as Jemma follows me.
Damn, this family is at war or something.
" Hey Jemma, could you tell me whenever the paints arrive? " I asked, she nods as we head up the stairs and walk down this big corridor.
" Will keep you posted about it " she said.
" So, where are the girls?, I haven't seen them " I said.
" Malia and Tessa, miss Hyria's daughters would be in Paige's room at this hour of the day to spend time together, Lady Talia's daughter " she said.
" Oh, let's head over there now " I said and she leads the way.
I have the melody of the street music from just now singing in my head as I follow her, until we arrive at a specific door. She knocks and the door opens by someone inside really quick, I walk in and see three girls in this room. One sitting on the sofa enjoying a table full of delicacies, one with her back facing the balcony and a canvas painting something. One more sitting on a chair embroidering a fabric that is on my her lap.
" Miss Paige, Tessa, Malia, this is miss Y/n " Jemma curtsy and I just stand here with a wave.
" Hi "
" Oh, didn't know you would come here " the girl on the chair stood up after setting her work aside on a table.
She has red auburn hair and green emerald eyes, she approaches me with a smile.
" I'm Malia, it's wonderful to finally meet you " she said.
" I was just doing some exploring of the mansion " I said.
" Welcome to my room " I look over to the girl who's by the canvas and just set down a brush.
She has jet black hair and dark brown eyes.
" Your Paige " I said, she smiles at me.
" Seems like I don't need to introduce myself " she said.
" Do me " I turn to the girl who's stuffing a piece of pudding in her mouth.
She has dark brown hair and green emerald eyes.
" Tessa " I said and she hums.
I smile and walk away to look around her room, it's full of decorations such as jewelry on the table, high quality items, a big mirror which is as big as a door and speaking of doors, I see another one open where I can see it's a closet.
" You have a pretty room " I said and Paige chuckles.
" Of course, I'm the daughter of the man who owns this house " she said.
" I know you are, don't need to say it out loud " I said and walk around her to the canvas.
I see she's painting a tree with flowers and birds.
" You like painting too? " I look down at her and she nods.
" It's really beautiful " I said.
" Of course it is! " I look up at Tessa who stood up from the sofa and Malia who's gone back to embroidery.
" Paige is the most talented lady in this house, that she's painting is a winter tree back at the palace, you would be surprise on how she remembers all the details with just one look " Tessa said.
I see Paige smiles to the praise.
" Looks pretty simple to me " I tilt my head.
" It's a difficult artwork, you can't call it simple until you get to learn how to do it " Malia said.
" Relax, this is her first time being here and there are a lot of things that she's unfamiliar with, just give her time and she'll get it " Paige said.
" I know painting, I love to paint, my brother Faris actually just bought a ton of paint for me just now " I said.
" Ugh, Faris is wasting money again " Tessa said.
" Listen, across this Maelia city, in music, painting, chess, calligraphy, embroidery, or handicrafts, no one is as talented as Paige " she said.
" And across the city no one is going to be as fat as you munching all those sweets " Paige said, I snort out loud then cover my mouth when they all look at me.
" Sorry " I said.
Tessa just looks away and sit down on the sofa.
" Anyways, don't mind Tessa, she's just blunt sometimes " Malia said as she focuses on embroidery.
" We are family after all " Paige said as she stands up and turn to me.
" I met your brother, he called me an illegitimate daughter, what's that? " I asked, she sighs.
" My brother is a little cruel, it means a child born with an unmarried parents " she said.
" Oh, okay " I said.
" Don't mind him, why don't we talk more about each other, sit down " she sit back down on her stool and Jemma grabbed a stool for me so I sit down.
" I like your hair " she touches a strand of my hair and I smile as I put her hand down.
" Thanks, don't touch it " I said.
She then picks up her paintbrush again.
" I have some books you could borrow to learn some words your unfamiliar with " I see her maid approach me with a book.
I take it and open as I flip a few pages.
" You can study them while being here "
I'm dripping sweats.
