" So who do I go with? " I stand here as Derek and mom stands there with their hands behind their backs.
" Well, we were hoping you would pick actually " Derek said.
" Oh " I said then fold my arms.
" Summer ended and autumn has started so, we'll be taking turns to take care of you " mom smiles.
" Convince me " I said.
" Convince you how? " Mom asked.
" Where do you live? " I asked.
" North in Mealia City in Yoviel " mom said.
" Northwest of Mealia City just a few hours away from your mother's house " Derek said, I squint my eyes.
" Mom lives with my uncle right?, The head of the house? " I asked, mom nods.
" Yes " she said.
" And Derek's the head of his house? " I asked, he nodded.
" Correct " he said.
" Got any pets? " I asked.
" We have a husky " Derek said.
" One of your brothers has a lynx cat "
" I'm going with mom " I hang my bag on my shoulder and walk over to her.
" Damn it " Derek curses and I hug her.
I look up where mom is smirking at Derek before we pull apart.
" I think you have plenty of time with her in this school already " I turn around to where Miss Layla approaching us.
" She's right, the first time I met her she was at the brink of death " mom said, I smile and she has her arms around my shoulder.
" Well, you should get going then " Miss Layla said.
" Head outside, there will be someone waiting for you " mom said, I nodded.
I walk away and leave the school with other students leaving as well with their items being moved around in carriages and horses. I stand here confused as I try to figure out which one is mom's.
" Y/n! " I turn around to the female voice and see Lumina jogging up to be in a different dress.
" Whoa, you look nice " I said and I stand here with my school uniform, she smiles.
" Thanks " she said.
" Why'd you call? " I asked.
" Oh, I was wondering where you going to live and we were thinking to spend the time together in autumn " she said.
" We? " I asked.
" Laurence, Dante and the others " she said.
" Oh, I'm going to live with my mom, in the Maelia City " I said.
" Sweet, Rowena lives in Maelia city with Laurence, I live in the neighboring city to the northeast Loriburgh city with Dante and Garroth " she said.
" How many cities are there in this kingdom? " I asked.
" There's eight cities " she said.
" Oh " I said.
" Where does Katelyn live?, And Travis? " I asked.
" Down south, Haoville city " she said.
" That's a lot of cities " I said, she shrugs.
" Anyways, we'll send letters when you have time to hang out with us " she said, I nodded.
" Sure " I said.
" Alright, see you in the autumn " she said.
I wave and she walks away, I watch as she approaches a carriage with a butler assisting her to climb inside.
" Miss Y/n? " I turn around to the gentle soft voice to see a woman approaching me.
She has brunette hair tied up nicely with a pair of light brown eyes in a dress that looks very simple.
" Me? " I asked, she nods.
" I'll take your bag, we have a carriage prepared for you " she takes my bag and she gesture her hand down the way.
" Okaaay " I said with hesitation and just walk as she follow me behind.
I just took a guess and approach a carriage when a butler open the door for me then extend his hand, I did what I saw Lumina do and take his hand before stepping in.
" Thank you " I said and look around inside.
I sit down on the bench made into the carriage, in front of me is where I notice jars of candies. Not long after mom climbs in and sit down next to me adjusting her dress.
" This feels weird " I said.
" Weird? " She asked.
" I'm not used to this, the maid taking my bag for me and the butler helping me into the carriage, and mainly being in a carriage, I prefer being on a horse " I said.
" The family is excited to meet you, we wanted to be appropriate " she takes my hand then push my head to her shoulder.
" Your brothers even prepared your room for you " she said.
" They prepared my room? " I asked.
" Don't worry, it's very nice " she said.
" One of your cousins even knitted you a scarf " she said.
" I don't know what to do with a scarf, I never worn one before " I said.
" You'll learn a lot of things when we go home "
The carriage starts moving.
~ Time Skip ~
I see the butler offers his hand and I politely shake my head then hop off the carriage myself, I look around to see this place has gates, they're closing right now and it's a pretty big house. From the looks of the big door, the place is like the school but smaller and fancier, I turn around to mom and grab her other hand to help her down the carriage.
" Thank you " she said.
" So this is where you live? " I asked, she hums.
" Come on, everyone's waiting for you in the main hall " she said.
" We have a main hall? " I asked as we climb up the steps.
" It's where events take place such as a homecoming parties or banquets for any events " she said.
" Oh " I said and we approach the door.
The manservants by the door opens it for us and the first thing that caught my eye is this huge foyer, big enough to hold a party here. Stairs right and left, in the middle is just another room what it looks like a simple small room. I walk in and head over there looking around, paintings around the wall. I approach a specific one which is a portrait of mom but younger with a man beside her, he has jet black hair and green emerald eyes.
" I look different back then, don't I? " I look over my shoulder to mom who's walking up to me.
" Is that him? " I asked then look back at him.
" Yes, he would always want to hold your brothers right after I gave birth " she said, I hum.
I then turn to two old married couples, both in wheelchairs, he has grey white hair and a a pair of e/c eyes.
" That's your grandfather, he passed away two years ago from old age " she said.
" He has a big forehead "
" Y/n! " She slaps my shoulder.
" What?! " I laugh and she chuckles as well.
" Keep your commentary to yourself " she said, I calm down and sigh in the end.
" Am I wrong?, And is he even my grandfather when Derek's my father " I said.
" He's your other half siblings grandfather, makes it yours too " she said.
" Alright, lets go and meet this family " I said.
" Your only meeting our brothers and sisters in law " she said.
" Why? " I asked and she leads me on the other side of the living room where there's another door entrance.
" You can meet your cousins by yourself " she said.
" What should I say when I come in? " I asked.
" Just do you " she said, I nodded.
" Alright " I said and we approach the door where there's two other manservants holding a staff, they open the door for us and we walk in.
I count five heads in here, one male and four females, there's a chimney, piano, tables and sofas, more paintings.
" Everyone, this is Y/n " mom said.
" Y/n! " A woman approaches me and gave me a big hug, she has strawberry blond hair and green emerald eyes.
She didn't give me time to react and I was embraced in her arms, I can smell the perfume she's wearing.
" H-hello " I awkwardly stand here.
" Ugh, it was a torture waiting to meet you! " She pulls apart and smile at me.
" Y/n, this is your aunt June, she's F/n older sister, she's the only one who's not married yet " mom said.
" Oh, pleasure to meet you " I said.
" Awe, you have M/n's eyes, your already beautiful without make up " she turns my face around and my neck feels like it's twisted.
" Cute button nose and those lips are perfect for my new lipstick I just bought, oh those chubby cheeks! " She squeezes them.
" Okay, June, relax, you have the whole season to get to know her before her next school term which is winter " mom said.
I let out a nervous laugh as I put her hands off me.
" Thanks " I said and she chuckles stepping aside.
" I think it's time to introduce the rest of us " I look at the man with jet black hair and dark blue eyes.
" You must the head of the house, the uncle that I heard about " I said, he smiles a he has a woman hooking her hand around his arm.
" My names Jack L/n, you may call me uncle Jack or Jackie, whatever you like and you are certainly welcome in this family " he said, I hum.
" This is my wife " he looks at the woman with blond hair and dark brown eyes.
She smiles at me.
" My name's Talia, we have a daughter and a son, you may call me Lady Talia " she said.
" Why should I? " I asked.
Her left eye twitched a little for some reason but she kept a smile.
" I'm the matron of the family, it means I am in charge of the households with other institutions, if you don't know that " she smiles.
" No, I know, you didn't have to explain actually, I was asking why should I call you lady, your my aunt too " I smile back at her and her left eye twitched again.
" Y/n " mom whispers and tug on my sleeve a little.
" Sorry " I whisper back.
I turn to the other woman standing up from the sofa, she has light ash brown hair with a pair of yellow amber eyes.
" My names Hyria, my husband which is your father's third brother, uncle Javier unfortunately is overseas to do some business, he will return in a few months time " she said.
" I'll meet him one day " I said, she smiles.
" You also have another two cousins, I have two daughters " she said.
" It's a big family am I right? " I asked, she chuckles and nodded.
" You could say that with your other five brothers " she said, I smile back at her.
I then turn my attention to the old woman on her wheelchair who was watching the entire time. Her hair is fully grey white with a pair of e/c eyes.
" This is your grandmother " mom said.
I walk up to her and smile.
" Hello " I said, she chuckles then roll closer to me.
" I can't imagine the life you went through all these years alone, it must be hard and life changing when your mother found you " she said, I shrug.
" I managed but here I am, a family reunion I suppose " I said, she nods.
" We want to let you know we did not give you up, we did it to protect you " she said.
" I know, though half of it should be blame on Derek " I said, she snickers.
" Definitely " she said.
" Mother " mom clears her throat.
" May I? " Grandma gestures to my bracelet and I lift my hand up to her.
She holds my hand and smile.
" This bracelet belongs to your great, great, great grandmother, it was mine before your mother's " she said, I smile and take my hand back.
" Anyways " I turn to Talia who approaches me.
" You seem to not have the right manners, pardon me but it's the first thing I've notice her lack of decorum, mother " Talia said.
" She has went through a great hardship at a young age, it's been tough, give her a break, she has not been here more than ten minutes " grandma said.
Talia grabs my hand and caress the back of it.
" I don't mean to remind you mother but, she is the daughter of nobility now, she must have the appropriate standard as all of us, am I right M/n? " I see she smiles at mom and mom seems to smile back with a little bit of discomfort that I noticed.
" Yes " mom replies.
" Oh, look at these hands!, Dreadful! " I look down at my hands where she turn it around to look at my palm.
" They're full of calluses, so tragic your palms are rough and delicate, and those nails, ugh, a few of them are chipped " she lift my hands and show my nails.
" I have the right treatment for that- "
" It's okay " I take my hands off her and she looks at me in confusion.
" My hands are fine " I step back then hold mom's hand.
" I can live with it " I said.
" Well, my wife is not wrong " uncle Jack steps forward.
" You need to learn the house rules and some etiquette as a family member, trust me I don't want to force you " he said.
" Do I have to? " I asked.
" Don't worry, you'll manage " mom said.
" It's for the best now your in the family " Hyria said.
This is where my life begins.
Worked real hard with the vocabulary here but I think it's good enough, any ideas?, Also I found out I'm lactose intolerant, wasn't pleasant 🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️.
