It had been 2 months since their best friend went missing.
2 months since Spider-Man was seen.
2 months since Peter Parker came to school.
So, when Ned got the text from Iron Man that said, 'we found him' he practically jumped out of his seat. He turned to MJ to show her the text when a new one came through '1 week mission so we can run recon and get him out with least amount of trouble.' Ned showed the text to MJ before the teacher said, "Mr. Leeds care to show the class what has you so excited."
MJ the one who never shows her emotions was almost tearing up, from the sheer happiness of finding Peter.
"No, sir not particularly," Ned said, he had been snappier since Peter went missing. He didn't do Legos just piled them up so he and Peter could do them together. He was a shadow of his former self. MJ had also become snappier and more sarcastic. She had withdrawn from the world once more.
"If you don't care to show us then hand over your phone and I will share," Mr. Knight said.
"Hmm lets see, two texts from 'Iron Man' that say, 'we found him' and '1 week mission so we can run recon and get him out with the least amount of trouble.' Mr. Leeds care to explain why supposedly Iron Man is texting you and who is this he?" Mr. Knight stressed the words Iron Man and him. No one knew Peter Parker had been kidnapped. The teachers thought he was sick, because his aunt had been calling in for him each day, claiming he was sick.
"It's Peter, sir," Ned said
"Oh, really because last I checked Peter Parker was out sick."
"Peter has been kidnapped because he is close to Tony Stark, but Mr. Stark didn't want the media to know, so it was kept on the downlow."
"We will see about that Mr. Leeds. Class while Mr. Leeds is telling this lie it seems like a convenient time to say that we will be going on a field trip to SI in a week.
On the news the next day the Avengers were shown leaving Avengers Tower on a Quinjet. Tony Stark looked frantic and was crying tears of relief. Natasha Romanoff was almost the same way, while the others looked like they had been given hope but were fearful that it wasn't going to lead them to what they were looking for.
'Breaking News:' TV screens all over New York read.
"It has just been witnessed the Avengers hurriedly leaving Avengers Tower. They have never moved this fast, yet this time seems to be different they seem to be looking for someone. It was reported 2 months ago the Avengers were calling out for someone named Peter and were also looking for Spider-Man," The news reporter said.
1-week later Ned and MJ were anxiously awaiting the arrival of their best friend, as they loaded onto the bus that would take them to Stark Tower. The 40-minute drive seemed to take hours because of their nerves. When they finally arrived a tour guide was waiting for them outside the front entrance with boxes of badges for each student. She explained the badge levels before letting the students into the building and leading them through the scanners. Everything went normal until Ned and MJ went through, "EDWARD 'NED' LEEDS LEVEL: BLACK 1. NO WEAPONS DETECTED. BOSS IS ON HIS WAY WITH THE MINI STARK AND THE REST OF THE TEAM," and "MICHELLE 'MJ' JONES-WATSON LEVEL: BLACK 1 NO WEAPONS DETECTED. BOSS WOULD LIKE ME TO TELL YOU THAT HE IS SCARED FOR WHEN YOU PEPPER AND THE SPIDER MOM MET AT THE SAME TIME TO RAMPAGE THE GUY WHO HURT PETER"
The classes jaws were on the floor. Who would expect the two kids who had become reserved to have such a high clearance level?
"Who's Mini Stark?" One classmate asked at the same time another asked, "Who is Spider Mom?"
Those two questions brought out a thousand more questions from all of their other classmates. Thankfully the tour guide saved them by starting the tour.
The tour was in the cafeteria when it happened. Said cafeteria just happened to be on the same floor as the Med Bay as that was the tour group's next stop. There was a landing pad right outside the cafeteria for things like this. The cafeteria acted like a ambulance entrance in a hospital would except it was used with a helipad.
The Quin Jet landed, and the Avengers piled off. Usually, the interns would look away but couldn't help but stare at the person on the stretcher between Bruce Banner and Tony Stark. It was the Mini Boss, Mini Stark, Stark Junior, and any other combination of names that the interns could think of. It was the cinnamon roll that brightened everyone's day, looking so pale and broken on the stretcher. Cuts and bruises littered his body, his clothes were torn badly, there were a few of what looked like gunshot wounds on his thighs and biceps. Pale, broken, peaceful. That is what the small child looked like.
Now any other day Peter's classmates would be staring at the Avengers but today happened to be different. Today Peter's classmates stared at Peter. The pale and broken boy much more of a sight than the Avengers. Their nerdy classmate that people loved. They looked up to him to brighten their day when it got bad. Flash was the only one who didn't like the boy, but only because his upbringing was bad. His mother and father never there. Every milestone he hit was only seen by his nanny until one day after he turned 13 the woman stopped coming all together. Flash had to learn to cook just to survive, yes, his parents have money and donate to the school, but that is the only involvement they have in Flash's life. Always away on business or working maybe even out partying with friends, yet never there when Flash needed them, so Flash acted out he started bullying people trying to get the attention of his parents, nothing he did seemed to work though.
Peter Parker on the other hand had everything a caring Aunt, friends, an internship at SI, food on the table that he didn't have to make. He was loved while Flash was neglected.
Ned and MJ rushed over to their hurt friend whispering to the Avengers about what happened. Flashes of the conversation were caught by curious ears, "Sensory Overload...passed out...tortured...experimented on...recon...Natasha...almost caught...went into protective dad mode...almost killed the leader." Whispers spread throughout the students. Questions about what happened from the snippets heard. No one seemed to be able to answer the question, and the Avengers weren't willing to answer the question.
The Avengers rushed out of the room and towards the Med Bay, not saying a word to anyone but Ned and MJ. Without looking for permission from the teachers MJ and Ned followed the Avengers out of the cafeteria and to the direction of the Med Bay, not once taking their eyes off the figure of their unconscious friend.
10 minutes later and the class was heading towards the Med Bay. Just the waiting room where most of the Avengers were sitting including the newer ones such as, Ant Man, Wasp, Black Panther, Shuri, Captain Marvel, The Guardians of the Galaxy, Wanda Maximoff, and Nick Fury left the class in shock because of the expressions on each heroes face. Their expressions were ones of worry. How could one person have such a big impact on the most influential group of people in the world? Flash was the one to voice this question in a not so nice way.
"How come all of the Avengers are here instead of doing something better with their time like not wasting it on Puny Parker?" Murderous glances were casted Flash's way. Unsurprisingly it was the Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Gamora, the Wasp, Captain Marvel, Shuri, MJ, and Pepper Potts who stood up first to protect their friend/brother/son/cousin/nephew. Peter had all of the Avengers wrapped around his little finger, yet the female heroes always had a motherly instinct around him which of course when hearing that comment made them all go into protective mom/cousin/sister/friend/aunt mode. The male Avengers were content to sit back and let the scary women deal with the bully, though it didn't stop Tony from causally forming an Iron Man gauntlet around his wrist and pretending to tinker with it or Clint pulling out his bow and pretending to inspect, and it may not have stopped Bucky from pulling out his favorite knife and causally sharpening it.
Flash of course was scared to the ends of the earth and back.
"Don't ever say something like that about Peter again. Peter is the most amazing self-sacrificing, kindest, purest, smartest person I know, and he deserves the whole world maybe even the universe. He wouldn't want me to kill you, so I won't. You may like to know that Peter was kidnapped by HYDRA and tortured experimented on because of who he is. He is now in a medical induced coma because he passed out on the way over here from a sensory overload since he hadn't seen daylight in 2 months. In those two months none of the Avengers stopped looking for him. Not once was FRIDAY not scanning every single digital device looking for him. You know why? Because the Avengers care for him like family. He is every single one of those peoples nephew, cousin, brother, son, friend, and my детеныш паука," Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow said almost in tears remembering what Peter looked like when they found him. He looked even worse than when they brought him in. Peter had only been alive because of his enhanced healing factor, which is also the reason they are keeping him a medically induced coma so that Peter's healing factor can keep up with the injuries without having to use up energy from Peter's metabolism. Peter was being force fed nutrients through a tube in his nose.
The class briefly caught a glimpse of Peter as they took their tour, but other than Flash getting what he deserved nothing important happened throughout the tour.
People finally believed Peter when he came back to school, and knowing Peter had the full might of the Avengers on his side made sure no one messed with him.
Peter was very confused as to why everyone was acting nice to him all the sudden and Flash wouldn't even look in his direction. That was until MJ filled him in like the good friend she is.
