I have to stop her from creating a scene. I closed her mouth with my palm so that so she would stop screaming. I then quickly grabbed her inside the restroom and closed the door.
"Jenna, stop, stop okay, please", I said.
She didn't listen. She kept fighting me.
"Jenna, stop!" I shouted with more force. She stopped fighting. Thank God! That got her.
"Now I am going to let you go, okay. Don't scream". She nodded.
"Okay", I said and I released her and removed my hand on her mouth.
"Who are you? Why do you look like me? And how do you know my name?" she asked scared. Shit! What do I tell her now? I could just say I am someone who looked like her. A twin. But I called her by her name. She now thinks I know her. I don't have a choice now. Hope she believes me.
"Jenna, it's me Katherine, your friend", I said.
"What?" she asked confused. "Katherine, but that's insane. Wait you're insane. Just tell me who are you and why do you look like me?"
There's no use. I have to show her. Right then, I shapeshifted to myself. She then freaked. I know how this must look to her. She has never seen something like this. Of course she is freaked.
"Get away from me. What are you?" she said panicked.
"Jenna, calm down please. It's me, Katherine Winters, your best friend", I said as I came close to her.
"I don't believe you", she said and was about to unlock the door. I stopped her holding her hand.
"When you were little, you gave your Maths teacher a love letter", I said. That stopped her. I was there when it happened. "I know that because I was there. And you'd steal some money from your dad's pocket, but you always got caught", I said. And like that I told her a few more things that only she and Katherine knew.
"How do you know all of that?" she asked.
"Because I am Katherine, your friend, please believe me", I begged her.
"Katherine, but how is this possible? You were just now.... me", she said confused.
"I'll tell you all about it. But right now we need to get out, okay", I said.
"Okay", she said. Thank God she believed me. Luckily no one saw all this. We then left the restroom and went straight outside. We got inside John's car I borrowed from him. I drove her straight to John's house as we left school. No attending the school that day, since after my big reveal.
Once we were inside, she asked "What's going on Katherine?"
I looked at her and told her everything from the beginning. Everything about my being shapeshifter, the hunters, my aunt Karen and Mark and even about John and myself.
"Wow, so you're a shapeshifter", she said stunned.
"Yeah", I said.
"You can look like anyone then?"
"Yeah".
"Even a man".
"Yes, I could even turn into a man. But I don't like being a man".
"Wow that's amazing".
"I know", I said.
"So about that Mark guy who wanted to kidnap me, what do we do about him?"
"For now you're safe", I said.
"Thank you", she said.
"Don't thank me. You're my friend", I said.
"So who's house is this?"
"It's John's. He must be here. John!" I called out.
He then came out. He saw us together. "I told her everything. I had to", I said.
He then kissed me. "I was so worried about you", he said.
"Told you I'd be fine", I said smiling.
"Wait, how long have you two been together?" Jenna asked. She looked at John. I thought you were with that girl who worked at my bookstore.
"Ahh... Jenna", I said looking guilty. "That's me", I said.
She was really surprised. "Now all of it makes sense", she said. "But why did you changed into her?"
I told her how her grandfather rejected me when I came there to get the job. "So to get the job, I created Eve. I must say you're taking all of this very well."
"Well it's not every day your best friend turns out to be a shapeshifter. It's cool actually", she said.
"Yeah, that's what I said", John added.
"Stop it both of you", I said. "Where's Natasha?" I asked John.
"She's inside", John told me.
"I'll just be back", I told both of them. Both John and Jenna began talking to each other as I left. I went to find Natasha.
"Hey, can I talk to you?" I asked her when I found her in a room.
"Yeah, sure", she said.
"Here take this", I said and gave her the credit card.
"Whose card is this?"
"I know I promised you to give money. So today I took this from Mark. Now you should draw the money soon before he notices it's missing".
"Wow, thanks, I guess. I really needed this. I didn't think you'd keep your promise. That's really smart actually, taking this from Mark", she said smiling.
"They were the ones who promised you the money first", I said.
She thanked me again and was about to leave. Before she left I asked her, "Hey, Karen said that she wanted to use me so that she could defeat some people. Do you know anything about that?"
"Oh, about that, yeah there are some very powerful people after her. She said they were some very powerful and dangerous people who wanted to find her. But I don't know why. She is scared to death. I think she wanted to use your power to defeat them. But she lost it. Now... since I am paid now. I think I'll leave. And thank you, again. The spell I cast around this house will last for 2 more days. And here's my card. If you ever need anything, call me", she said.
"Thanks", I said and she left.
After that the 3 of us spent the rest of the day talking.
"So, Katherine can you really change into a guy?" Jenna asked.
"Yes, I already told you that", I said.
"Show me please. I want to see it. Change into John, please, please", Jenna pleaded.
"Jenna I told you I don't like being a guy. It makes me feel weird. And no I won't change into John and I never would unless he asks me to", I said looking at him. He raised his eyebrows.
"Okay, okay, let's drop it", Jenna said. "Hey are you guys coming to Lydia's party tomorrow"
"Ahh... her", John said frowning.
"She just wouldn't leave him alone. John told so many times he's not interested in her but still she wouldn't listen", I said.
"Ooohh... someone's jealous", Jenna said.
"Shut up Jenna. I am not jealous. And to answer your question it's completely up to John", I said.
"I am not interested either. I'd rather be with you", he said holding my hand. I smiled.
"I don't know about me, I have to ask Sean", Jenna said.
"Yeah, I forgot about that. You and Sean, when did this happen?" I asked.
"Recently. He said how he felt about me. And I've been crushing on him for quite some time now", she said.
"Well I am happy for you. Looks like we both found boyfriends", I said.
"Yeah, hey I've to go now. It's late", Jenna said.
"Wait I'll come with you. I've to go home anyway", I said.
"Already? You can stay with me, you know?" John said.
"I know, I want that too. But I haven't been to my home in the last few days. Besides I'll see you tomorrow", I said.
"Okay", he said and kissed me.
"Wait what are we going to about your aunt?" Jenna asked. "Are they going to come after us again?"
She was right. I forgot about that. What do I do now? John's house is protected. I should have asked Natasha to cast a spell around Jenna's house too. I need to get rid of Karen completely so that she can't hurt my friends.
"I don't know Jenna. But today will you stay at my house just to be safe", I asked Jenna.
"Yeah sure. I'll tell mom I am having a sleepover", Jenna said.
"Good", I said.
"Just be careful. You know I can come with you", John said.
"No I'll be fine. Besides you'll be safe here. And if something is wrong I'll come back here", I said.
"Okay", he said. We kissed good bye and left his house.
As we neared my house, I saw red and blue lights glowing. I noticed that they were police cars and cops were at my house.
"Why are cops at your house, Katherine", Jenna asked.
"I don't know. But I think we shouldn't go there", I said. We were a little far from my house.
"But, why?" Jenna asked. I focused my hearing to listen what they were talking. And what I heard sent me in panic mode.
"Katherine, what is it?" Jenna asked.
"They are here for me. They came here to arrest me", I said.
"What! That's ridiculous. Why would they do that?" she said.
"Jenna, you stay here. I'll go over there and find out", I told her.
"But how? You said they were looking for you".
"It won't be me", I said and shifted right before her. Standing before her was Eve and then I went towards my house.
"Excuse me officer", I asked one of the cops.
He looked at me. "I just moved newly around here. I couldn't help notice you guys. Is something wrong here?" I asked smiling.
"Who are you", he asked.
"I am just a neighbor. What happened here?"
"A girl named Katherine Winters lives here. She attacked a couple students today at school. Their situation is so bad that they are admitted to a hospital serious multiple injuries. We're here to arrest her", he said.
Shit! Things just got even better.
