ANABIYA FELT ODDLY COMFORTABLE WHILE SITTING BESIDE THE MASCULINE EMBODIMENT. Jalal Shah had been called last night by Daryab Khan and now they both were were making their way to the hospital in Jalal Shah's car.

Last night had been amazing for Anabiya. Even thinking about it bought a little smile on her face. It felt normal.

A single glance towards her and a smirk quirked up to Jalal Shah's lips. "Uff hai larki, itni muskarahat?, kahin hamaray baaray mein tau nahi socha jaa raha begum?"

Anabiya felt her breath start to quicken at his teasing voice but still managed to send him a flat look. "Me-mein aap kay baray kyun sochnay lagi?" His smirk shifted to a full smile before his deep chuckle became audible in the large car.

"Banday ko khush na honay dena tum kabhi!"

A shy smile with multiple beautiful shades of pink fluttered on Anabiya's face and she completely turned towards the window on her side to hide herself from Jalal Shah.

The car stopped in front a large bakery next to a few other stores and Anabiya turned towards her husband. "Kuch lekar chaltay hain, sath chalo gi?" He busily informed her while switching the car off. Anabiya quickly took over her chadar before getting out from her side.

Getting gift baskets with almost everything available He informed the helper for mithai and Anabiya sent him a quizzical look. "Zaroorat parh sakti hai." He replied in an dismissing manner and motioned the shop helpers towards the car, holding the large food expensive baskets.

After Paying for the items they finally made out of the bakery. A shop next to the bakery caught Anabiya's eyes. It was a jewellery store. The beautiful diamond jewellery glistened out of the display window.

Jalal Shah was instructing the helpers with bags when his eyes met with a view of his wife gawking up at the jewellery on display. Clearing his throat slightly he saw Anabiya quickly adjust her chadar and turn towards the car but pause as she heard him call her. "Suno, Ab aa hee gaye hain hain, tau tum bhi kuch khareed lo apnay liye?"

"Na-nahi, mein waisay hee dekh rahi thi. H-hamay dair ho rahi hai" Nervously mumbling out her words she moved past him towards the car. Gripping her chadar in one hand and then using the spare hand to pull on the door handle. She tried once and then twice but the stubborn door wouldn't bulge open.

Taking a deep breath and then trying again for the umpteenth time till she was finally out of breath.

Thinking that maybe the car had went out of order or something she immediately turned towards her husband. Standing on a distance with arms crossed and an tilted face with clear interest plastered, he was observing his wife's antics.

"Jalal yeh ... yeh gaari kaam nahi kar rahi?" She asked in a little worried voice. To which he responded back by taking out the car key out of his pocket and held it in mid air as if insinuating.

"Hogya? ... Ab chalay?"

She squinted her eyebrows in annoyance and uttered a few incoherent words under her breath before following him inside.

Her lips parted as she entered inside, taking in the beautiful stones and mirrors decorating the large shop.

Her eyes zeroed on a beautiful locket behind the thick glass cabinet. Looking at the locket for a few minutes she slowly turned towards her husband.

"Me-mein yeh lu?" The request came out in an hesitant manner Jalal Shah's eyes surfaced amusement, turning towards the shopkeeper he motioned him to take out the gold locket.

It consisted of a slightly thick gold chain and a little round shiny gold locket with a dazzling little diamond embedded on the middle. Yes, it was simple, but it had effortlessly managed to swoon Anabiya away. She couldn't take her eyes off of it. Something about it had her entranced.

Taking it from table as Jalal paid for it she clutched it in between her tiny hands. A little gasp left her as she clicked it open. "Yeh pehn nay jaun?" She turned towards her husband and Jalal Shah let out a little chuckle on her awe struck state.

Not caring about the world around her and with all the joy visible on her face, Anabiya gently grasped the locket in her hands and left the shop.

Turning towards the shopkeeper, Jalal Shah paid 54k for the locket. He was waiting for the receipt when his gaze suddenly went towards a beautiful anklet.

"Yeh bhi sath pack karo!" As in quickly made up his mind he pointed towards the payal.

Anabiya was seated in the car, with the locket chain lying on her pale neck and the locket held firmly in her hands as she studied it. Jalal Shah entered the car to see his wife looking at the locket intently.

"Jalal, yeh kitna pyara hai na?" She turned towards him looking at him with wide eyes.

He looked at her self with a little smile, before switching on his car and getting distracted by it while responding back busily, "Itni achi lagi hai tumhay yeh choti si cheez kay tumhari khushi hee nahi simat rahi?

Pehlay pata hota tau aisay ziada saaray lockets khareed leta, tum issi tarah muskarati rehti aur tumhari muskaan say meri bhi eid hojati?"

A little laugh escaped Anabiya's self. "Yeh aap shuru say hee itnay shayarana hai ya sirf meray sath hojatay hain?"

Her question took Jalal Shah by surprise, "itni maghroori? Mein sadqay jaun!"

Her confused stare at his response forced him to send a clipped smile towards her. "Aisi koi baat nahi hai Anabiya, ghabrana na shuru hojaya karo meray sath!"

A warm smile graced Anabiya's face over his quiet response observing a subtle impulse and he completely diverted his direction straightforward, she couldn't even imagine the deep state of agitation he was actually in.

Dil ko achi lagi thi tum shuruwaat mein aur ab halaat dekho ...paa lenay kay baad bhi aisi kefiyat hogayi hai kay tumharay qareeb hota hun na? Tau lagta hai zehan kya, dil bhi kaam karna chor deta hai.

Kis ko bataun apnay yeh jazbaat, jo bataanay kay bhi qaabil nahi. Mein tau khud uljh gya hun apni hee junooniyat say.

Little worry lines slightly surfaced over his forehead as he thought to himself while clutching the steering wheel tightly.

The girl who admired the scenery out of the window, naively remained unaware of the heart that had once desperately begged merely for her sight in grave restlessness and was still weakly but willingly captive just in her hands.

Falak was pacing inside her room in a deep state of tenseness. Her mind circulating all horrendous possible scenarios.

A knock at her door was enough to bring her out of her worries. "Ajao!" The door opened and in came Hassan. A look at her worried expression and he rose a questioning eyebrow.

Looking at the cause of her uneasiness Falak couldn't help but flung herself over him. "Hassan tumhay khuda ka waasta hai bhai ko mat Batao!"

Pulling her away from himself hurriedly he placed a reasonable amount of distance between them before responding back. "Mein aapko pehlay bhi bata chuka hun, raat say yeh baat khaye jaa rahi hai mujhay. Meinay Aj tak sir say koi baat nahi chupai. Mein yeh aur nahi kar sakta!"

"Tumhara deemagh kharab hogya hai. Kya tum bhai ko jantay nahi ho? Wo jaan say maar dey gay hun dono ko Hassan!"

"Aap pata nahi kya kya soch na shuru hojaati hain. Ma'am dekhay unko puri baat bataye gay-" Hassan tried explaining but Falak widened her eyes at him and let out a gasp. "T-tum jaantay bhi ho kya ho sakta hai? I can't believe this! Khud tau maro gay.. sath mujhay bhi marwao gay!"

Wiping the tear the had escaped her left eye she sat down on the end of her bed.

"A-acha nahi batata, aap pareshan mat ho" Feeling a bit guilty, Hassan called out in his usual hesitant manner.

Falak quickly whipped her face towards him. "Pakka?" A big part of her was fearing the only sole outcome that had been eating her inside out since last night. Hassan quickly nodded.

Taking a breath of contentment Falak passed him a little smile. "Acha suno, raat say lekar ab jaakar tumhara chehra mubaarik dekhnay ko mila hai. Tumhay kuch batana tha.

Last night tumhay all macho-man in action dekh kar Mein tau bohut impress hui hun Hassan!"

Hassan shook his head in disappointment. "Itnay sab kay baad bhi aap nahi sudhar sakti ma'am"

Falak let out a little giggle and winked at him causing a very flustered looking Hassan to quickly leave her room.

Mehmood Khan was sitting on the patient bed with his body leaned back against the headboard of the bed.

Only the little sniffles of Noor were audible across the dead silent room.

"Nikkah kay ilawa koi aur tareeqa nahi hai is sab say bahir Mehmood?" Amna was the first one to cut the silence short. Her plea didn't go unheard by anyone. Anabiya held noor close to herself. Softly patting her hair as she had her face pressed against Anabiya's shoulder.

Jalal Shah was sitting next to Daryab Khan on the sofa, watching the scene unfold with an interest.

"Mehmood, Noor-" Amna began again till she was cut short by her own daughter. "Teh kha Ammi!" [I'm fine] Noor quickly got up from her position and hastily wiped off her tears before moving towards her father.

"Abu, jis tarah kaho gay? Wohi hoga, mujhay sab manzoor hai. Kisi say koi masla nahi hai. Aap iss baaray Mein soch kar pareshan mat hoye!" Holding his hands in her little ones Noor gently spoke out her words.

A little forced smile covered Mehmood Khan's face. All the dreams of seeing his daughters stable on their own feet with their degrees and marrying them off to the men of their own choices with lavish weddings, now shattered.

He brought his hand closer till it rested on his daughter's head. Moving it across her silky strands till he retracted it completely and turned his face away with his jaw painfully clenched.

"Dawood aur Dilainoor ka nikkah Aj, aur Abhi hee hoga!"

"Chachu sab intezamaat ho chukay hain. Dawood aur uski walda ko pohnchnay Mein thora hee waqt lagega!" With his face turned to the ground Daryab Khan shared the piece of information.

"Jalal Shah, tumharay iss sab kay baaray Mein kya khayalaat hain?" An inquiring part of Mehmood Khan couldn't help but ask out the brute of a man sitting arrogantly on the sofa.

Jalal Shah rose an eyebrow towards the call. Leaning back slightly he exhaled out a bit of air before beginning.

"Khan Sahab, beti hai aapki. Aap behtar Faisla teh kar saktay ho ham sab mein say, phir bhi agar meri raye pucho gay tau saaf si baat ka hun ga, mein aapkay faislay ittefaq nahi karta!

kisi airay gairay kay hath mein bachi thama dena koi samjhdaari ki baat nahi. Wo bhi aisay log jo kal ko kisi baat ki jawabdaari lenay say pehlay hee na razaa-mand ho!"

Daryab Khan sent an hard stare towards the unfazed man over his statement regarding his Dawood.

"Chachu wo Aisa nahi hai aur aap milay huay ho uss say!" His retort caused Jalal Shah to get up from his place whilst having a muscle in his jaw constantly ticking. "Mein kuch khanay kay liye neechay cafeteria tak chalta hun!"

In a few long strides he finally left the room, thinking it was best for the family to talk about the matter alone.

Anabiya got up instantly as if on impulse. A single questioning look from her mother caused her to stutter out a response "M-Mein bhi kuch khanay k-kay liye ley lu" Mehmood Khan smiled and nodded towards her and Anabiya quickly left the room to find her husband.

"Jalal!" She watched her husband pause while walking and turn around. A surprise registering in his self seeing his wife out of the family talk just for him. Shaking away the thoughts he walked towards her instead.

"Jee Jalal ki jaan, aap baahir kya kar rahi ho? Kuch lena tha tau mujhay bata deti. Mein Ley aata!"

His gaze slowly moving across every feature her face, pausing momentarily on the almost invisible mole beneath her lower lip till it finally settled on her light brown eyes.

"Na-nahi, mein aap kay sath chalti hun na. Khud ley lu gi kuch?" Asking him in a little voice she waited for any sort of positive signal. A loud chuckle reverberated from the man standing in front at her request before he lightly placed a barely touching hand on her lower back, walking with her now towards the elevator.

Soon they were settled down in an isolated table of the cafeteria. With the rest of the audience in Jalal Shah's vision and Anabiya's sight covered with his self only.

He watched her lightly uncover her face from the chadar with an newfound interest. The memory of her hesitating while taking off her chadar in front of him to eat only a few days ago, refreshened in his mind.

It took them calculated 15 minutes and they were done with their food. The time spent mainly consisted of Anabiya taking sparrow bites or picking on her food while Jalal Shah, who already was a fan of eating, in no time had his portion of food empty.

Paying for the food they both got out and went outside in the little attached garden with artificial plants. The little wooden bench seemed like a perfect spot to Anabiya.

She had to share about the wedding events with Falak but since Falak had come back home very tired last night, she had chosen to place her conversation on the side.

"Jalal kal raat wali shadi mujhay bilkul pasand nahi ayi!" Unable to keep it in herself, she had finally burst it all out.

Jalal Shah fought the urge to smile at her outburst and kept a serious face plastered on his face. Nodding his head as if understanding the situation he finally spoke out. "Acha, wo kyun?"

"Sirf Samina aunty aur Mehek aapi achi thi, baki aurtain bohut buri lagi mujhay, ajeeb ajeeb baatain kar rahi thi.

A-aapko pata hai, ek kehti hain kay zabardasti shadi ki hogi aap nay meray sath!" A loud laugh escaped Jalal Shah's system on her statement.

"A-aap m-mera mazaaq ura rahay hain?" Her voice close to breaking down and her husband immediately sobered up.

"Iss liye has raha tha kay logon ko dekh lo mannay ko tayyar hee nahi hain kay mujh jaisay shaks ko Tumhara sath mil sakta hai,

aur tum mujhay kehti ho kay Mein kesi kesi batain karna shuru ho jata hun." Shaking his head lightly and with his captivating smile he had easily gained attention from the passerby's.

"Aisi baat nahi hai" softly replying back she traced the pattern on the bench. "Meri hesiyat zaroori nahi kay wohi sab ki nazar Mein ho jo aapki nazar mein hai Jalal?"

"Tumhara husn aur tumhari masoomiyat khud hee tumhari qadar karnay pey majboor kartay hai!" He placed his arm behind his wife on the head on the bench as he watched her continue looking downwards intently.

"Agar dil kisi shaks pey thehar jaye tau wo sab say bartar, sab say haseen lagta hai, baat shakal surat ki nahi, dekhnay walay ki nazar ki khoobsurti ki hai.

Jaisay Jalal Shah ki hesiyat Anabiya kay aagay nahi, waisay hee Anabiya bhi Jalal Shah kay begair kuch nahi!"

Turning her head up, her eyes connected with Jalal Shah's, black eyes clashed with the light brown and it felt as if the rest of the surroundings had completely disappeared for the two.

Daryab Khan knew there was no point on delaying.

"Za poe na shum! [I don't understand]. Dawood bahir hee hai, ham kis baat ka intezar kar rahay hain? iss tarah kar kay ham apna hee nuqsaan karay gay. Batoor Khan say tau har koi behtar hai aur Mein khud gawahi leta hun Dawood ki!" Unable to digest the agitation he had finally uttered out his words.

"Nahi Daryab! Sahi keh raha hai Jalal Shah. Kal ko agar baba nay kuch kiya tau Dawood kya, koi bhi unkay khilaaf sirf meri beti kay liye nahi khara hoga. Yeh baat mein bardasht kar sakta!" Mehmood Khan bit out and his nephew got up instantly upon hearing the words.

"Jaisay aapki marzi chachu, aap soch lo is sab kay baaray Mein!"

He was leaving the room when he saw Jalal Shah entering. Passing him a tight nod before he completely left the room.

"Amna, aap bachiyon ko lekar Thori dair bahir jayiye. Meinay koi zaroori baat karni hai"

Mehmood Khan informed his wife who nodded before taking Anabiya and Noor outside with her.
"Dawood Bahir hee hai, tum nay dekha hoga. Mujhay Batao kay ab kya yeh faisla behtar hoga kay nahi?"

He was in deep turmoil, it felt as if he was almost throwing away his daughter in an deep endless pit.

"Aapko pehlay bhi ek hee baat kahin thi, wapis wohi duhranay Mein mujhay koi masla nahi.

Jahan tak baat Dawood Malik ki hai, Daryab say bhi bohut pehlay ka jaanta hun ussay, 4-5 saal pehlay uskay chotay bhai ka jaghra hogya tha doston kay sath, unhon nay jhoota muqadma darj kar kay usko andar kar diya tha. Dawood aya tha meray pass, razi nama Meinay hee karwa kar diya tha.

Larka shareef hai, magar kuch ziada hee shareef hain. Itni sharaafat bhi koi achi baat nahi kay kal ko biwi kay liye do qadam hee na utha paye!"

His words were clear enough for Mehmood Khan to reconsider his decision. "Tau tumhari kya raye hai?"

"Daryab say shadi karwa do Khan Sahab!"

Mehmood Khan turned his face towards him in an instant. "Hosh Mein ho Sardar? Wo shadi shuda hai, apni beti kisi pey musalat nahi karu ga aur na hee Daryab ki zindagi ka sukoon barbaad. Dono meray liye ek jitnay ahem hain!"

"Shariat dusray nikkah kay sath sath, taya zaad bhai say shadi karnay ki ijazat bhi deti hai. Meinay koi ghalat baat nahi ki! Acha Khaasa Waqt lagega aapkay ilaaj ko Khan Sahab, tab tak biwi aur beti ki zimedaari kon uthaye ga? Chalo wo larki Zaat hai ... uskay apnay naseeb hain, nikkah kay baad chali jaye gi apnay shohar kay ghar, magar aapki biwi kay tahaffuz kay liye kon hoga haveli Mein?

Rishta badlega, tau sath sath zimedaari ban jaye gi yeh sab Daryab kay liye, Aur phir aapki waapsi tak wo khud hee sab ko sambhaal Lega!

With all the thoughts jumbled in his head Mehmood Khan broke out into a coughing fit and Jalal Shah immediately got up on his feet and passed a glass of water to the man.

Emptying the glass Mehmood Khan thanked him and leaned back on his bed taking deep breaths. Talking to him about his daughter for a little while till he had finally stabilised.

A few minutes were enough for the man to recover and he finally voiced out. "Daryab ko andar bhej do!" It came out in a hushed voice but was audible enough for Jalal Shah to call Daryab Khan inside.

Daryab Khan got up from his friend instantly and moved inside. Jalal Shah settled down on the sofa and Daryab sent an confused look to his uncle.

"Kheryat day, Daryab! [Everything's fine Daryab] Tum say ek zaroori baat karni thi."

Feeling the slight tension in the air Daryab Khan paused on his step momentarily.

"Kahay chachu, mein sun raha hun!" Moving towards the bed he settled down on the edge of the bed. "Daryab, Meinay kafi socha iss sab kay baaray Mein aur, ... aur mujhay munasib nahi lag raha yeh rishta."

"Koi masla nahi hee nahi hai Chachu, Abhi jaldi karnay ki zaroorat nahi hai. Aapki nazar Mein koi aur rishta hua tau wo dekh Ley gay. Hamari Dilainoor Mein kisi cheez ki kami nahi hai. Acha say acha khandaan dhoondh Ley gay!"

His reply made Mehmood Khan's gaze to shift down towards the ground and Jalal Shah cleared his throat before beginning. "Rishta dhoondh liya hai Daryab!"

Before any reaction from his nephew Mehmood Khan quickly called out. "Meri nazar Mein koi rishta nahi hai Daryab!

Aisay muqaam pey pohnch aya hun kay khud iss zindagi say bhi bharosa uth gya hai." Daryab Khan tilted his head absorbing the information.

"Meri Noor ko apna lo Daryab? Mein sukoon Mein hojaunga."

His voice didn't crack while speaking even though only Mehmood Khan was aware the amount of pain he felt while taking the words out of his mouth.

Daryab Khan's eyes widened on their accord and he got up from his position. "Chachu nahi-" it had become excruciatingly painful to even continue as he drank down the bile down his throat.

"Daryab, Gul bano meri betiyon ki tarah hai. Khuda qasam, ussay hamesha Anabiya aur Noor ki tarah dekha hai. Uskay haq pey kabhi mudakhlat ki ijazat nahi dunga. Kuch aur nahi maang raha Daryab, sirf izzat chahiye apni beti kay liye, Tumhara naam chahiye uskay liye." Adamant on his stance, Mehmood Khan spoke out again.

Daryab Khan's voice had somehow clogged. He couldn't respond back. He knew his uncle was aware how much difficult it was for him. He could never do this to Gulbano.

"Daryab, agar meri beti ko hesiyat dey saktay ho tau theek hai. Warna Dawood ko bula do beshak bahir say. Mein us say baat kar lu!" Mehmood Khan tried getting up in a sitting position and winced slightly at the pain and Daryab Khan instantly moved forward to help as he saw his uncle's expressions. "Chachu aap ka kahan kesay nahi maan sakta mein?"

Grabbing his hands in his own Daryab Khan squeezed his uncle's hands in a sign of reassurance.

"Dilainoor wald Mehmood Khan kya aapko Daryab-"

Tears started overflowing, Noor turned her shawl cladden head towards her father. "Abu?"

Her mother had briefed her about the arrangement and to say she was shocked would be an underestimation. She couldn't believe that her father was the one who wanted this to happen. Deep within her heart she had already made up her mind that even if her father were to wed her off to some stranger she'd willingly leave just for his sake.

Mehmood Khan took a deep breath before bringing his hand closer and placed it on top of her daughter's head, encouraging her to speak.

"Q-Qubool hai!"

They felt like the toughest yet the somehow the easiest yes she had ever uttered in her life. Heart content with the trust and faith placed on her Allah and then ...her father.

The three affirmative responses and her fate was sealed. She burst into tears right after the signatures and her father quickly grabbed her tiny frame and engulfed her in a hug. Disappearing every possible thought in her head to solace.

"Qubool hai" Daryab Khan's hoarse voice called out.

Right outside the room was Daryab Khan seated next to his a few of his friends and Jalal Shah . Jalal Shah was proclaimed as the gawah of the nikkah.

The second qubool call and a face of Gul bano appeared in Daryab Khan's mind. She would never forgive him for this.

A look of his uncle imprinted on his mind quickly surfaced and all the rest thoughts were suddenly pushed back. Thus causing the last qubool to be easier than ever for him.

Anabiya was seated on the sofa with her hand gripping her sister's tightly. Their mother sitting on the bed where Mehmood Khan was settled.

"Anabiya, tum aur Jalal ab ghar jao, kafi dair hogayi hai." Amna called out all of a sudden. "Amma meinay Abhi ghar nahi jana, Abhi tau Abu say bhi sahi say nahi milli!"

"Anabiya Abu ki jan, idhar ao!" Mehmood Khan called his daughter to him and Amna got up from her position, making place for her daughter to sit.

"Jalal Shah subah say bahir aya hua hai, agar uskay sath Abhi chali jao gi tau koi baat nahi." He kissed his daughter's forehead. Anabiya's eyes watered slightly, their father had always been the most affectionate one.

Placing her head on his shoulder she leaned slightly onto him. "Abu, aap ghar kab tak jaye gay wapis? Aap theek hojaye phir Mein aap ko apnay ghar bulao gi Ammi aur Noor kay sath!"

Her father let out an easy laugh. "Kyun nahi! Lekin Abhi aap niklo, phir Dilainoor aur Daryab ko bhi bhejta hun mein" Hearing her name along with Daryab, Noor quickly got up and rushed towards the attached washroom. Her head starting to feel heavy.

Amna's face expression turned to an concerned one, right after seeing her daughter's unease."Insha'Allah sab theek hojaye ga" Mehmood Khan called out laying down on his bed.

"Insha'Allah" Anabiya mumbled under her breath and quickly came forward to hug her parents in a goodbye and finally left the room to find her husband.

Dilainoor splashed the cold water on her face and it felt as if she had numbed to the core.

Drying her face with tissues she finally left the washroom. Her sister had left, it wasn't a big deal but a part of her had turned somewhat so disturbed that even this certain act successfully managed to irk her to max.

"Noor, jao jaakar abu ki shawl aur mera bag neechay gari say Ley ao meri jaan" Amna had immediately sensed her discomfort and so decided on letting her get some fresh air.

"Jee ammi!" Replying back in a little voice she smiled at her parents before leaving the room.

The hallway was empty outside the room, sighing to herself in relief she ditched elevator for stairs and started walking down the stairs.

Noor was halfway down when she was suddenly met with the sight of Daryab Khan quickly climbing upwards while talking with someone on the phone.

Her breaths ragged for the first time in her life after seeing him. Maybe she was letting the nikkah get to her head too much. Shaking her head on her thoughts and quickly covering her face with her chadar she quickened her pace in attempt of not letting him notice her.

Daryab Khan was moving upwards when he saw a little figure rush past him. Distractedly cutting his friend's call end and turning around, he called out.

Noor had almost took in a breath of relief when she heard the voice that froze her on spot. "Dil, charta ze?" [where are you going?]

There was no point in hiding. hell, even she wasn't aware of why was she suddenly acting so weird. Taking a deep breath and giving a mental prep talk to herself in mere a few seconds to gather back her confidence she finally turned around.

"Gari" she looked at him straight in eyes before replying back. Her arrogant stance forced him to raise a questioning brow.

"Puch sakta hun kyun?" He spoke out in his usual gravelly voice.

Her mouth itched to vocalise the single "nahi" but she pushed the temptation away. Why was she so mad at him anyways? He was forced into this relationship like her as well. It was an equally problematic situation, in fact even more for him, considering the fact that he was already married. He hadn't talked with her about it at all. Was he even aware of their nikkah?

Unhi say nikkah hua hai, kesay pata nahi hoga Noor!

Daryab Khan with an newfound interest watched the girl shake her head and puff out a little air as if indulged in completely grave conversation with her own self.

Smiling at her own agreement before turning towards him. She plastered on the usual stony expression again. "Abu ki shawl laani hai gari say. Mein Ley aungi. Aap jaye" she passed him a forced smile that almost seemed as if it was hurting her facial bones to Daryab Khan.

He sighed and ran a hand over his hair. "Uper jao Mein lekar aata hun." He moved past her towards the direction of the main gate. Noor's lips parted as if not believing the the ignorance. She could do her work perfectly fine without any help, especially not his.

"Lal-" quickly biting her tongue before completely the word but it was enough for Daryab Khan to turn in a flash.

He was aware of her stubbornness. Having enough of her antics he clenched his jaw tightly and rose an eye brow at her as if provoking her to speak further.
A look at the vein visible on his forehead and she gulped.

Letting out an awkward laugh, she pointed out. "W-wo ammi ka bag bhi yad say Ley aana"

He tightly nodded back and she cleared her throat before turning around towards the stairs. Her furious stomping over the stairs didn't go unnoticed by Daryab Khan who rolled his eyes but also fought an urge to smile.

Hours passed by easily.

Dil ainoor was soon sent back to haveli by her father with the driver and Daryab Khan left the hospital late, Amna chose on staying over at the hospital with her husband.

It had become usual for them to stay awake the whole night in the hospital to talk about either their daughters or their past memories spent together.

The nurses had left only a few minutes ago, assuring both of them about the stability of his condition and leaving the couple to talk alone privately.

Amna got up from the sofa and moved towards her husband's bed. Sitting on the edge of the bed where her husband laid down. A look of contentment visible on his face. It bought peace to Amna seeing her husband relaxed.

The whole time spent with him felt like it was just yesterday. Their time together, every second was imprinted on her mind.

She could still never thank her Allah enough for Mehmood. He was god sent.

Life wasn't easy for Amna, she had suffered through some of the severest persecutions under the hands of her own family members. Her brother had been selfish, her bhabhi never turned down any opportunity of hurting her, either it be with words or assaults.

Her parents were poor, she couldn't study as they could only afford their son's studies. Her brother had been educated ... but at what cost?

Only for him to start talking back to his own parents, he was always the most inconsiderate one. Going against his parents wishes he married Kiran, their taya's daughter. Kiran was extremely vile, even more than her brother. Always filling her husband's mind with wordings against his family.

Amna's father worked on the lands of Rustam Khan, Rustam was an 54 year old man with 2 wives. He was also the one who Amna despised the most.

Her brother had forced her into working at Rustam Khan's place. Having never done cleaning work at someone's house before, this felt very humiliating to her but seeing the conditions of their house and the wanting to get away from her bhabhi somehow she had finally agreed.

She hadn't met or seen Rustam or even his wives. All she knew was that they were all prideful people who never mingled with the house staff.

One day her brother got late on picking her up, Rustam Khan found her waiting outside the gate as he was pulling up inside his kothi. Getting out of his car immediately he went to her. She told him about her brother and father and he insisted on driving her back home himself but Amna had politely declined.

Truth be told, she couldn't help but feel disgusted from the look he was constantly giving her, raking her body up like an animal. She breathed in relief as soon as she reached back home with her brother.

On the way back home she had mentioned to her brother about Rustam Khan asking to drop her off at home himself and was completely taken by her brother almost lashing out on her that why hadn't she come back home with Rustam Khan.

Realising that she had enough, she threatened on leaving the job. Only then did her brother cooled down. Begging her to not leave the job as with the house's expenses increasing and now with
Kiran's pregnancy it would become impossible for them to survive without money.

Taking this venomous bile down her throat she finally agreed. Completely unaware of the circumstances fate had stored for her.

With her visits to the kothi becoming regular, Rustam began his advances as well. Only Allah knew how hard it had become for her to survive everything.

Rustam Khan started staying at his house more often, trying to get as much glimpse of her as possible. When the shaitaan had whispered its evilness in his ears he started harassing her. It remained non physical but the house maids started assassinating her character instantly.

One day she was watering the plants when he came straight to the garden. Her young beauteous self had successfully turned him into an slave of his nafs.

Amna had missed him coming near her and was taken back when he came forward and suddenly grabbed her arm. A shock registering her system. She hesitantly asked him to leave her arm as it was hurting her and he seemed unfazed over her protests.

One of his wife had seen the act unfold and rushed towards them. Sending abuses towards Amna for luring her husband, she even ended up asking her husband the reason for deceiving her love and their married life only to get a hard slap from Rustam Khan.

Amna couldn't believe her eyes. The amount of monstrosity this man held in himself was finally revealed. He turned towards her again, not even caring about his standing wife and tried grabbing Amna's arm again only for Amna to slap her hard with all of her force in front of his wife.

She didn't stay even for a second after that and ran back home.

She couldn't tell it to her brother but she shared it with her mother. What she had done would certainly cause consequences but she didn't regret it even a single bit.

She didn't go to work next day and her brother came back home with a shocking news.Rustam Khan had asked for Amna's hand in marriage.

Seeing her brother's overly hyped self, it didn't take her long to deduce that Rustam Khan was doing this to take revenge. Her bhabhi suddenly blurted out that Rustam Khan was offering a piece of land to her brother and Amna should at least consider accepting the purposely for her brother but Amna strictly rejected.

The amount of rage her brother felt for her was immense, he didn't even care that she was his younger sister or that their parents were with them, he started beating her like a mad man.

Using all sorts of disgusting curses and everything in the way to beat her with. To this day Amna could still hear his brother's words how he had lashed out at her that she was the one who had enticed him first and was now refusing to marry him.

Amna cried and begged for him to stop and show some mercy. Their father finally intervened and pulled his son away.

"Abba isko bol do, Shadi karay gi yeh. Warna Khuda qasam jaan say jaeygi!"

Lying on the floor with her broken self she saw none of her family member come over or help her get up, not even her own mother. Kya kuch nahi kiya tum sab kay liye, kya kuch nahi saha.

It all became crystal clear to her, no one believed her. She had no one.

After thinking about for 3 days she decided that she had wasted enough amount of time already and it was time to leave. Right after offering her Fajr prayer she got up and packed her bag. Seeing everyone fast asleep, it was a perfect opportunity to run away out of this place. She had some money saved so it wouldn't have been much of a problem leaving the area. Wearing her burqa and completely covering her face in the veil, she left her house.

It was a long way towards the bus stand which she somehow managed to cover on foot. She firmly held her purse and her bag hugged her tightly as she finally settled in the bus.

She remained seated for a while before her stomach started hurting painfully due to the lack of food. She hadn't eaten anything in 2 days, her energy level had dropped to an painfully low level. She was barely surviving.

Mehmood Khan had arrived from the night's flight back to home ground after completing his university's studies. He had fought with his parents on this, the environment and the people including his own family suffocated him.

No man had ever left for higher studies from their haveli that too out Pakistan but after his adamant and usual stubborn stance, his family finally gave in. He left for England immediately, only to come back in a few years time but now with an satisfied heart due to his graduation.

With his friend with him he was making his way back to haveli when his car's fuel ran out.

His friend had hitchhiked and didn't forget to take a bottle with him, to get fuel from a possible nearby petrol station. Mehmood Khan laid back on his seat when his gaze went to a woman arguing with a shopkeeper.

He couldn't hear them but when he saw the man speak out something in an aggressive manner he quickly got out of his car.

Moving towards them in a few long strides he quickly addressed the shopkeeper. "Bhai jan kheryat hai?" As soon as Amna heard the voice behind her she stilled. This meant that she had attracted attention. Not moving to turn around or make any movement she remained rooted in her place.

"khairyat day bhai!, [everything's fine] Mein bus iss larki ko samjha raha tha kay pani ki bottle kay paisa leg raha hai. Magar yeh lar rahi hai" the shopkeeper quickly spoke out.

"Mein lar rahi thi? Bhai Meinay sirf yehi bola tha kay aapki dukaan Mein pani ka dispenser hai, insaniyat kay tehat hee sirf ek glass pani ka dey day. Khana bhi tau aap say khareeda hai. Nahi afford kar sakti pani ki bottle!"

It didn't take longer for Mehmood to understand that she was alone.

Saying her words, Amna didn't stay back even for a single second and settled down on the resting bench in the bus stop.

Buying two small bottles and a large one with two styrofoam cups he moved towards Amna. "Yeh lejiye, aap rakh lay?" He called out to the girl who didn't even look bother looking up at him.

"Aap please jaiye yahan say, mujhay betakalluf guftugu aur kaam shadeed na pasand hain" replying back in an hard voice, she made it clear to him.

As soon as she looked up at him Mehmood Khan was slightly taken back by her grayish blue eyes and seeing him gawk up at his eyes Amna pulled her head down. It embarrassed Mehmood Khan to bits but he finally recovered back before replying.

"Musalmaan bhai ki hesiyat say farz banta hai yeh mera!, Aapko chahiye ho tau bottles paas rakh dee hai, nahi chahiye tau beshak Chor jayiye, Magar khuda gawah hai, meri niyat Mein koi fitoor nahi tha!"

Clearing out himself Mehmood Khan finally left.

His friend, Aazir, had just arrived with petrol and now they had enough fuel to get back home. They were about to leave when his mother called, getting out of the car he moved towards the clearings to talk more openly.

Talking with almost everyone he finally ended the call, only to move back to see a little crowd gathered around the bus stand. "Lagta hai koi masla hogya hau!" Aazir called out.

Both of them moved towards the the bus stop and the loud screams became more clearly audible.

It was the same woman he had seen earlier and an aged man was trying to pull her away with himself. "Abba Meinay nahi jana waapis" she screamed out while crying furiously trying to pull her hand away from her father's clutches.

"Aur kitni badnaami phelaye gi tu Amna? Itni naik hoti tau bhaagti na!" He forcefully started dragging her again only for her to protest out that she wasn't running away. "Alta de sa kol?, [what were you doing there] bhaag nahi rahi thi tau kya kisi aur aashiq ka intezar kar rahi thi?!"

His statement caused her to stiffen. His father didn't even care about the people around them. He was too busy slandering her. "Abba Meinay tau Aj tak ghar say baahir qadam bhi nahi rakha. Sirf meray Allah ko pata hai, Meinay koi Aisa gunnah nahi Kiya na hee kabhi koi najaiz harkat ki. Aap aisay soch bhi kesay saktay ho abba?" She couldn't help but cry out.

The people around them watched the scene with an interest and after hearing the painful protests of the girl Mehmood Khan finally intervened.

"Baap hokay kesay naa munasib ilfaz istemaal kar rahay ho. Wo bhi apni hee beti kay liye?" He lashed out at the man and Amna's father quickly turned towards him.

"Tum apnay kaam say kaam rakho. Jaantay bhi ho yeh kis ki mang hai? Rustam Khan ki!" Amna's father growled out his words. Mehmood confusedly turned towards his friend. "Oye, yeh Rustam Khan kon hai, tu jaanta hay issay?" He called out to Aazir while everyone watched and Aazir replied back in an negative response as well.

Amna's father clenched his jaw shut. "Lagta hai tum naye aye ho yahan, issi wajah say jantay nahi. Rustam Khan ki mang ko koi apnay sath shareek nahi karay ga!"

"Mein nahi jaanta yeh Rustam Khan kon hay, magar aapki beti ki paak daamni ki gawahi Mein Khud leta hu!"

Amna jerked her head upwards to see the same man from earlier. How odd was it to see a stranger think of her as innocent over her own father.

"Itnay mard ban rahay ho tau nikkah kar lo iskay sath!, Ley jao issay sath apnay." Amna's father attempted to scare the man away.

"Theek hai, mujhay manzoor hai. Aisi naik larki ko apnay nikkah Mein Lena, meray liye sharf ki baat hogi!"

He didn't hesitated while responding back, looking into the eyes of the man. Aazir tried getting him away but he didn't bulge. Taking the father and daughter with them to a secluded place, he informed Aazir ko get everything ready for the nikkah.

Thus the nikkah was finally done there and then in that place.

"Amna aap gaari Mein jaa kar bethiye!" The amount of respect his tone held, watered Amna's eyes. She knew instantly that this man would forever be the one for her and he definitely did prove out to be. As if this wasn't enough she had another issue placed in Mehmood place.

His family couldn't accept a lower class self as her to be their son's equal. She hadn't expected Mehmood Khan to turn out to be the resident of the reputable haveli as well.

He fought for her, stood by her side without even knowing or even seeing her.

Amna could still remember the day they had reached back. His mother screamed at him that she already had asked for her niece's hand in marriage for him but he didn't hesitated while stating clearly that Amna would always remain in the haveli as she was a part of it now and his wife.

"Mein dekhta hun kay kon Mehmood Khan ki aurat ko iss haveli say bahir nikalnay ki jurrat karay ga!"

Looking into his older brother Tawfeeq Khan's eyes, he clearly threatened. Telling the maid to take Amna to his room he left the place to recover from his rage.

As he got back to his room he stopped in his tracks instantly seeing Amna without her niqab for the first time. Tears started running down on her face and he quickly grabbed her hands into his own before taking her to sit on his bed while he himself crouched down on the floor in front of her.

"Amna, aap nay pareshan nahi hona. Aap meri zimedaari hain, mujhay hamesha apnay sath payegai! Aap say kisi aur kisam key rishte ko qaim nahi karun ga. jitna marzi waqt chahiye, Ley lijeye. Ham dost tau ban saktay hain na?"

"Amna?"

A voice finally got her out of her train of memory. She turned towards the bearer of the voice.

"Amna aap kab say yahan bethi hai. Sofay pey jaa kar Lait jayiye, thak jayengi?" 20 years and even after two daughters, her husband's self hadn't faltered one bit. The same respect and care that was present since day 1 was still here even after all of these years.

Truth be told Amna had fallen in love within a week living with him, with their awkward at time together, watching movies, visiting places, playing board games together, spending every possible time together and then the intimacy.

"Mehmood mujhay aap kay paas bethna hai." She spoke out while slowly touching the features of his face.

He passed her a warm smile before shifting to his left side slightly. "Acha meray sath let jaye. Iss tarah bethi rahay gi tau phir mujhay b pareshaani hogi"

She quickly moved towards the provided space and placed her head close to his while her hand continued to move across his face. "Amna, Mein bohut khush hun aaj" he took in her form before speaking out.

"Acha... Wo kyun?" She asked playing the clueless card and Mehmood Khan let out an easy laugh. "Sachi puchay tau bohut sukoon Mein hun. Lag raha hai jaisay Aj apnay sab faraiz puray kar diyay.

Daryab ko thora waqt lagay ga, magar nikkah kay baad mauhabbat tau waisay bhi ho jaati hai!"

"Hmm" Amna nodded in agreement.

"Ziada pareshaani mujhay Dilainoor ki hai. Thori si ziddi hai. Lekin yeh bhi jaanta hun kay ussay koi kuch keh nahi sakta. Meri beti hee sab say larnay kay liye hee kafi hai. Apnay abu pey jo gayi hai!"

He boasted out arrogantly and Amna lightly punched his frame causing him to burst out laughing.

"Acha mazaaq kar raha tha, meri tau dono betiyan apnay baap ki tarah hai bilkul. Haan ... husn kay lihaaz say meri betiyan apni maa pey gayi hain"

A proud smile covered his lips causing Amna to feel like hugging him senselessly.

"Jalal Shah ki taraf say mutmayin hun!" Causing Amna to let out a little giggle. "Apnay jaisa damaad jo mil gya hai, kesay khush nahi hongay!"'Amna teased lightly. "Sahi tagra kisam ka mard hai." Amma shook her head at his remark. "Bajaye iskay kay ussay apnay waalid say badtameezi karnay pey daant tay, aap tau ulta aur khush ho rahay hain Mehmood!"

"Kyun khush na hun? Acha hai. Baba ko pata hona chahiye kay jeetay jaagtay log un ki jagirdaari ka hissa nahi.

Mehmood Khan kay damaad sher hain. Kisi say dabnay walay nahi. Aj Aisa lag raha hai jaisay 2 betay bhi mujhay issi dunya Mein mil gaye betiyon kay sath sath" An content look surfaced on his face as he looked up at the ceiling.

"Mehmood Khan ki betiyon kay naseeb Allah nay waqaye bohut a'ala likhay hain" pushing a few strands of his hair away from his forehead, Amna softly voiced out her words.

"Amna, zindagi mein koi bohut bari naiki hee kee hogi jo mujhay aap jaisi aurat ka sath mila. Meri tamam zindagi sanwar gayi!" His voice lowered in its volume as he turned his head to look at her.

"Sab kuch Chor diya aapnay, kesay meray pey andha bharosa kar liya?" He inquired in an disturbed state. Amna shook her head before wiping the few tears that had escaped. "Aap iss baat ko jaantay hain kay mera tau shuru say koi nahi tha. Us khayi Mein wapis jaanay kay baaray Mein soch bhi nahi sakti thi. Haveli Mein jo bhi hua, iss baat ka itmenaan tha kay mera shohar tau meray sath hai naa?"

A slight pain coursed through his system, which he ignored carefully and offered her a little smile forcefully.

"Amna aap ko yaad hai, jab bhi koi pareshani mujhay ghair leti thi tau aap kya karti thi?" He bought his hand closer and wiped the tear off her cheek. Amna let out a little laugh on his childish request. "Lekin Abhi tau aap sukoon Mein hai? Tau ab tau Mein sar pey oil nahi laga sakti!" Her teasing voice caused Mehmood Khan to lean slightly and kiss her forehead gently before pulling back again.

"Haan lekin Abhi mujhay aur ziada sukoon chahiye, phir kabhi shayad ...mauqa na milay?"

A look of worry instantly covered Amna's face, "aap ko dard horaha hai? Ya koi aur pareshani hai? Mein gharwalon say baat karwa deti hun!" She got up and he quickly grabbed her arm to pull her towards him again. "Is sab ki zaroorat nahi hai, mujhay jo chahiye tha wo meray paas hee hai!" His words had as if paralysed her. She laid down back again in her earlier position while looking at him in a trance.

They started talking again and they hadn't even realised the time till the azaan for fajr prayer became audible in the room.

Amna quickly got up to offer prayer and was finally done with the supplications in mere half an hour. Getting in her position Amna laid her head on Mehmood Khan's shoulders as she deeply took in his scent in her system.

Moving his fingers in her hair he softly called out. "Kya maanga?" She knew instantly at what was being inquired so she looked up at him. "Apnay shohar ki sehat aur lambi umar!"

Smiling at her dya he rose a brow in amusement. "Zindagi aur maut Allah kay haath Mein hain Amna. Koi bhi Aab e Hayaat pee kar nahi aata iss jahan" he offered her a smile.

"Aap aisi baat kartay hain tau mera dil band honay lagta hai. Mehmood please itni aziyat mat day mujhay" gripping his kameez's collars tightly in her hands she pressed her cheek with his own.

"Arey, iss mein pareshan honay wali tau koi baat nahi. Mein tau bilkul bhi nahi hun. Meinay tum iss jahan Mein paa lenay kay baad har saans kay sath aglay jahan kay liye bhi maanga hai. Ham ek sath hogay Amna? Hamesha!" Stroking her cheek lightly he whispered to her.

"Acha tel tau aap Abhi laga sakti nahi hain, kam as kam sar hee duba day. Apkay wujood ki garmahat ko mahsoos karna chahta hun!"

Smiling at his request Amna started massaging his forehead. She loved the feeling of his brown silky hair over her fingertips so she moved her other hand in his hair.

Mehmood Khan Grabbed her hands in his own, "Meri khoobsurat ankhon wali Amna, da zarra qaraar! [the satisfaction of my heart]" Feeling his eyes water slightly he quickly shut them closed and placed her hands over his eyes. "Da stargoo yakhwaalay!" [the coolness of my eyes!]

He quickly blinked away the tears, an intense throbbing getting constant with every passing second. Opening his eyes with heavy lashes he took in her eyes. "Sta de stargo lewaney krram!" [your eyes make me go mad (in love)]

Moving her over himself he laid her head on his shoulder and kissed the top of her head. "Da zarra armaana me" [my heart's desire] lowly whispering in her ears as Amna hummed in peace with a smile. Her husbands arms coming over her in gentle embrace, completely cocooning her.

Amna felt a heavy jolt leave his body and she visibly shuddered. "Mehmood?-" she tried getting up to see what happened but his arms around her tightened painfully so she paused in her same position.

The tightening grasp continued for a further more seconds before it completely slackened.

Amna stayed with him for further more minutes till she called out. "Mehmood uth kay bethay ab, nurses a arahi hogi morning check up kay liye" she waited for a few seconds before lightly moving him. His slackened arm fell off of her with only a little movement.

"Mehmood?" Amna got up in a second. The perspiration on his forehead visible to her. "Mehmood, kya hogya hai?" Amna's mental health failed to support her in the situation. She madly started shaking and calling out her husband to get up.

Her attempts going in vain as she felt her mind completely go numb with the realisation.

Tears were running down her face but she couldn't feel or hear anything. Laying a hand over his now turned cold cheek she felt a scream stuck in her throat. How selfish of him to ask of her solace in his last moments. He didn't even care about her, he had ripped apart a part of her heart just like that with a serene smile constant on his lips.
