Jillian lifted her left hand slowly and looked at the diamond ring in her finger. Kumislap iyon kahit ang ilaw lang sa kwarto ay mula sa lampshade sa bedside table. She smiled and sighed contentedly while her head rest at her fiancé’s chest, listening to the steady beating of his heart. Jason’s fingertips caressing her bare back. His sheets covered only their bottom part.
“Happy?” Jason asked quietly.
Jillian’s throat closing in with so many emotions so she just nodded her head. Sigurado namang ramdam ni Jason ang sagot niya dahil hindi niya inangat ang mukha sa dibdib nito.
After ng proposal nito ay walang katapusang picture taking ang ginawa sa rooftop. Jason’s family is excited to share the news to the world but she asked them not to post pictures on social media yet. Ipinaliwanag niyang gusto muna niyang ipakilala si Jason sa ama. Yes, kilala ng ama niya si Jason, pero hindi bilang boyfriend. At ayaw niyang mauna pang malaman ng ama ang engagement niya sa social media. Wala namang social media account ang daddy niya pero hindi niya pwedeng ialis ang posibilidad na may makakitang nakakakilala sa kanya at masabi iyon sa daddy niya. And she’s glad that Jason’s family understood and respected her request.
Maging ang videographer at photographer ay pinakiusapan niyang antayin ang go signal niya bago ipost ang mga litrato at video sa mga social media accounts ng mga ito.
“Sa Camp Tecson ba tayo dederetso sa lunes?” ani Jason na patuloy pa rin sa paghaplos sa likod niya.

I want to get his blessing. Pagkatapos noon ay ang Permit to Marry naman natin. Thank God you’re a military brat. Mapapadali ang pagsecure natin noon.”
Jillian’s body becomes rigid and Jason sensed her sudden stiffness. Sa isang iglap ay siya na ang napailalim.
“Why, baby?” masuyong tanong nito na may kalakip na pag-aalala.
Kinagat niya ang labi, “About that. Pwede bang ako muna ang kumausap kay Daddy ng tungkol sa ating dalawa?”
Kumunot ang noo ni Jason. “Hindi iyon ang usapan natin, Jillian. Why the sudden change of plan?”
“Uhm. It’s hard to explain. Basta. I will wait for the right timing to tell Dad about us muna.”
Biglang sumeryoso si Jason, may pangambang sumungaw sa mga mata, “Nagdadalawang isip ka na bang pakasalan ako, Jillian?”
“No!” Jillian looped her arms on his nape. She breathes deeply and proceeded, “It’s just that...” Kinagat niya ang labi.
“That...?” he egged her on.
“Dad doesn’t want a military man for my husband,” mabilis na sagot ni Jillian bago pa siya panghinaan ng loob na aminin iyon kay Jason. “Sinabi niya iyon after mawala ni Mommy. Hindi ko problema iyon noon kasi wala naman akong nagugustuhan sa mga nanligaw sa akin na military men. But even if he knows I am not interested, he would still low-key psych me not to give them a change and he’s over the moon every time I dump those suitors. That is why I’m hesitant to introduce you to him. For sure his reaction would be... adverse.”
Ang kunot sa noo nito ay unti-unting nabura. Bahagya itong ngumiti. “Nah. I don’t think he wouldn’t like me to be your husband, baby girl. Sigurado akong matutuwa pa nga siya,” confident na sagot nito.
Bahagyang umangat ang kilay ni Jillian. “How can you be so sure, Captain?”
Jason’s finger slowly traced her face, from the bridge of her nose, lips, neck, before he settled on the swell of her breast, “He trust me. He knows my capabilities. Hindi ba’t ako ang inatasan niyang magligtas sa iyo?”
Jillian closed her eyes, arched her back and throatily answered, “Sana nga, Jason. Sana, this time, i-consider niya iyon.” Nilaro niya ang buhok ng fiancé.
“What do you mean?” Jason murmured as his mouth laved her areola.
Jillian moaned and arched her body higher off the bed, “I had numerous suitors before. Some were sons of his comrades, his mistahs. Tulad mo ay officer na rin sila.”
“They maybe officers like me but they still got nothing on me, baby girl,” Jason uttered before he sucked her breast.
“Such cocky confidence, Captain Arellano. I never saw that coming from you,” she purred.
Jason nipped her nipple and Jillian let out a throaty moan. “I have accomplishments to back-up my cockiness, baby girl. Out of all the military officers your father knew, he chose me to save you. That right there is the greatest testament of how great your future husband is.”
Jillian felt a sense of pride despite of the mind-boggling sensation that’s coursing through her body. But she can’t completely shake off the negative feeling. “I really hope that would earn an extra mile with Daddy.”
“I’m sure it will, baby,” Jason whispered while alternately sucking her nipples. “Bakit pa masyado kang nag-aalala. Wala ka bang tiwala sa akin?”
“Hindi sa walang tiwala. It’s just that I know Daddy. Isa sa mga naging suitor ko noon ay inaanak niya. He treats Adriel as the son he never had. And yet Dad would drop hint na wag kong sagutin si Adriel dahil mahirap maging military wife.” Bumitaw siya sa ulo ni Jason at pinagapang ang mga kamay sa likod nito, “Tingin ko’y kahit sinong iharap ko kay Daddy, basta nasa military ay aayawan niya.”
Tumigil si Jason sa pagpapala sa kanyang bidbdib at tumingin sa kanya, “Kung gano’n ay mas dapat na personal akong humarap sa daddy mo. Hindi pwedeng ikaw lang ang magsabi sa kanya na pakakasal na tayo. Kung may dapat magsabi noon ay ako.” The determination on his eyes is admirable and frightening at the same time.
Ikinulong ni Jillian ang mukha nito sa magkabilang palad, “Can you, at least, let me condition his mind na may nagugustuhan ako from military? Please give me time muna. Let’s take it slow. Dun muna sa may boyfriend ako na nasa military. Then kapag tanggap na niya, saka natin sabihin na we’re already engage. Please?”
“I don’t like this, Jillian. Pakiramdam ko ay ikinahihiya mo ako.”
And Jillian’s heart throbbed when she saw the insecurities crossed his eyes, “Never! It’s just that I know daddy won’t be happy with the news that I am madly, deeply, crazy in love with a man wearing the same uniform as his.” Inangat niya ang ulo sa unan at kinintalan ito ng halik sa labi. “Let me condition his mind first.”
“How?”
“Leave it up to me.” Bago pa makasagot ulit si Jason ay nagsalita na kaagad siya. “I will introduce you to him when the right time come, I promise.” She smiled at him reassuringly.
“When?” he asked impatiently.
“After ng birthday ni Daddy,” alanganing sagot ni Jillian.
“Sa Wednesday kung gano’n,” pinal na sagot ni Jason.
Jillian bit her lip, “Pwede bang after na ng San Juan vacation namin? After ng meeting ko sa DOH, bago tayo bumiyahe pabalik ng Bohol?”
Naglapat nang mariin ang mga labi ni Jason. “I kept my end of the bargain. Keep yours, Jillian. I will give you until Wednesday. After that, I will talk to your father whether you like it or not. I want your father, and the whole world to know that you are mine, Jillian,” Jason spoke with absolute finality.
“And I am yours until the end of time, Captain.” Jillian wiggled her body until her softness is directly against his member that’s grown in full attention. She was rewarded by a throaty groan. “Baby...” Jason muttered agonizingly, his burning eyes pleading.

“Military training tried and failed to break me and my resolves. I never surrendered, not even once, baby girl.”
Jillian let him sink a little further but she pushed him back out immediately. Jason’s groan of protest was muffled by Jillian’s eager lips. Jillian lightly bit his ear lobe and whispered, “Just this once, Captain.”
