Part 5~

I wake up. Well from my 2 hours sleep. I sit up and take the photo frame off my bed side table. "Happy birthday Dad I miss you". I kiss the photo frame and walk downstairs. I wake up extra early this morning. I wanted to make my mum breakfast. I made her pancakes. She came down the stairs and she looked like she hadn't slept a wink either. "Morning mum, I made breakfast." She smiled weakly "you're a star sweetie." "I'll walk to school mum stay home don't worry about dropping me." She nods. I know she wants to take me but she deserves a break.

I arrive at school. As you can imagine, I have art again today. When I walk in I'm surprised as Jordan is already sitting in his seat. Weird. I'm trying to stay positive today. Dad would've wanted me to. I sit down and get my sketchbook out. "Mia look about yesterday." "No Jordan it's fine." He looks at me concerned I never call him Jordan. "Are you okay?" "I'm fine." He looked at me again this time I just stared at him and started crying. He engulfed me in a hug. I felt safe. I wanted to stay like this forever.
"Miss could I take her out." She said yes I think she knew why I was upset so it was nice of her to let us out. Jordan took my hand which gave me a few butterflies. "Sit." He had led me to a bench outside the school. Funny this is the one I first spoke to that Cory boy on. "Tell me what's wrong." Like I said I don't do telling people my personal life but I knew he wasn't gonna stop till I answered. "It's my dads birthday today." He looked at me confused "oh really well tell him I said happy birthday." I just burst into tears again "I wish I could myself." He looked so sorry. "How'd it happen?" "He was diagnosed with cancer. He was like my best friend Jordan." He engulfed me in a hug once again. "Everything's gonna be fine Mia." I wish I could agree. But I couldn't. "Come on you let's go back inside." He didn't give me any pity which I loved. Have I just turned the bad boy soft?
