Chapter 16: Boners

What are you looking for" He asked walking toward her
"There was a box hear but I can't find it" she said looking in a cupboard. Steph walked over to the cupboard below it and pulled out a large gold box.
"You mean this. You haven't seen this for ages."
"I know but I need a tooth and hair brush." She said taking the box. When Ayesha used to sleep over at Stephen's she took a box containing a spare of everything. A 'overnight box' if you will. And she left it there every time she went back home. So it's been there since there last sleepover. They brushed their teeth and went back to the main room.
"You don't need a hair brush. You look fine. Literally" he mumbled the last part
"Oh and thank you" he added
"For what" Ayesha said brushing her hair.
"For getting me out of boys day" he said looking down
"Oh. It's fine. I know how much it affects you." She said walking a little closer to him
"I know but I've been such a bastard to you and still you help me." He said walking closer to her
"Well you weren't necessarily mean to me you just annoyed me. And I'm not exactly innocent am I." She said going closer.
"Well the only thing that you did that really ticked me off was when you called me Wardell" he mumbled. They said their goodbyes and Ayesha went home changed her clothes and some other stuff. She came back to his house at 9:30pm waiting for the others.
"You know I've been meaning to ask you. Why don't you like me calling you Wardell." She asked curiously
"Uumm Well it's a bit embarrassing" he said walking closer
"What is it"
"Well you know when we were 10 and WAIT A MINUTE." He shouted
"What.?"
"It's your birthday" he said
"Oh yea. Oh wow I'm 18" she said as they both laughed
"Ok well as my birthday present you have to tell me why??"
"Uugh Fine. You remember when we were 10 and we hit, you know..."
"Puberty?"
"Yeah yeah and well when you called me Wardell i-it had this effect on me."
"As in???" Ayesha questioned
"As in um. Um"
"Oh my god. You liked it when I called you that. As in like liked it." She said coming to realisation. Steph just gave her a look saying 'Yep'.
"But in past tense. Obviously." He added
"So why can't I call it you now." She said with her eyebrow quirked
"Uum just in case it had the same effect it did 8 years ago." He mumbled quietly
"Does it" She asked
"I don't know." He said.  Oh he knew alright.
"Your lying" she said walking closer
"Am not" he said walking even closer
"Are too"
"Am not"
"Are. Too" she said
"Fine. It kinda does" he said in a small voice
"Kinda?"
"Well the 'effect' isn't as ..... strong I guess"
"Care to elaborate"
"Do I have t-"
"No excuses. I went to the game for your birthday. I went to the party for your birthday. So you are going to answer as fully as you can for my birthday" she said sitting on the chest of draws leaving Steph standing
"So I will say again. Care to elaborate" she repeated
"Ok so when we were kids I had less control over my hormones so the effect was a lot more clear. So clear my dad noticed."
"Your dad" Ayesha asked
"Yep. One time you said bye and called me Wardell, when you left um the 'effect' had happened and my dad saw. So we spent the whole day talking about 'self control'." He said chuckling along with Ayesha
"Sorry" She said smiling innocently
"It ain't your fault. You didn't know."
"Okay so are you gonna tell me what this 'effect' was. I mean I have an idea of what it is but just in case I'm wrong. Tell me." She said pleadingly. He bent down a bit and whispered it in her ear.
"Wait how the hell did I not notice." She said looking confused
"Hey well I didn't notice until that talk with dad" he said chuckling
"So does it happen now" she asked tilting her head
"Uum well not as noticeable" he said
"Sooo it does" she said extending the word 'so'
"Yeah I guess" he said
"So why didn't you just tell me instead of saying you'd make me 'all flustered'. Which you failed by the way.
"Because it was more fun. And I did not fail?"
"Yes you did"
"Oh really" He said going closer to her so that now his head was directly over her. His face was soo close to hers. He lowered his head to her ear.
"I don't think I did lose. Ishibo." He whispered huskily making Ayesha a little damp. (If you catch ma drift)
He then moved to in front of her face. All he wanted to do was kiss her. So he did.
