LESLIE POV

I burst into the reception of my workplace that is Evans Estate Limited owned by the famous Ms Rue Evans. "She's going to kill me", I muttered to myself as I rushed to the reception table, clutching my bag. "Morning Donald", I greeted the receptionist who just nodded as he continued his business on his laptop. I quickly signed my name into the attendance before walking swiftly towards the elevator. I got into the elevator and checked my watch.

7:54

Just 6 minutes left, you can do this Leslie, I said to myself as my skimmed over the buttons

Administrative, got it.

I tapped my foot impatiently as I glanced at my watch.

7:57

Ding

I got out of the elevator and practically sprinted through the floor.

"Morning Leslie"

"Good morning Leslie"

"How was last night Leslie?"

Blah blah blah... the only reason these people talk to me is because Ms Evans makes me evaluate them weekly so I'm the only thing standing between them and their job.

I stood in front of the door, dusting my skirt and composing myself.

I opened the door and quietly walked in. "You're late, Leslie", her voice boomed through the office. I glanced at my watch,

8:01

Shit

I looked up and all of a sudden, I was sweating profusely, "I..I'm sorry. I was held". "Tsk tsk tsk Leslie. How many times would I tell you that I don't like excuses?", my boss said as she rolled her chair forwards to look at me. "I'm sorry?", I said as I wondered to say.

"Leslie, you have been working with me for 3 years"

"4", I chimed in.

"Don't correct me", she snapped

"Sorry", I muttered staring at my neatly polished shoes. I stick to flats because every time I wear heels, I get aches. Why? Because my boss, for some reason, can walk two steps at a time with heels and I can't.

"You have been working with me for 4 years. Do I still have to tell you what I like and I don't like?", she asked as she titled her head to the side.

"No..no",i sharply responded.

She sighed before relaxing back on her chair and rubbing her temples, "I need my coffee".

"On it", I smiled widely as I rushed out to get her coffee.

"Oh good you're alive!", Daisy smiled as she walked into the coffee room. I smiled as I poured the coffee into the mug, "She has her days. Trust me, she's really sweet when you get to know her". "Says her personal assistant. You'll obviously support her. That's your job", Daisy said rolling her eyes. I smiled as I picked up the mug and turned to her, "Back to office matters, can you hand over the call logs for yesterday. She'll need them". "Okay missy", Daisy said as we walked out of the coffee room.

"Thank you", Rue said as she picked up her coffee and took a sip assessing it while I smiled proudly knowing that she'll have no reason to complain. She slightly nodded before she looked at me, I quickly switched back to my serious face as she said, "Have Daisy bring the logs". "Already got it!", I smiled as I raised up the log book. She rose her brows at me as I sat and pulled my seat closer to her table. I smiled as I opened the book and turned to the last page that held yesterday's entries, "Okay so should I start with the important or less important ones".
