Nervous

RUE'S POV

"Should we both wear the black?", Celine said to Penny who was reading a book on the bed. She closed her book and sat up, "I don't think we should wear black Cel. The stadium might be stuffy". "She's got a point", Jess said as she put helped me pick a sneaker to where. We're in my room currently, Celine slept over last night because she insisted that Flynn and mum would make her late to the match so Jess decided to bring Penny along with her this morning so she could help me get ready while the girl debated on their outfits. "Are you girls going to hurry or not?", Jace yelled from downstairs causing us to laugh.

"Mrs Andrews!", I squealed as we approached them. Sam and Tyler had gone earlier to pick up Blake's parents from the airport. They relocated to a quiet place in Australia after they retired and I decided to bring them out here to show support to Blake. He doesn't know about it so I know he's going to be super excited.

"Rue darling! Those zoom calls didn't do justice to how beautiful you look!", Blake's mum hugged me tightly before letting go so I could hug his father who patted my back, "I've been keeping up with your business. You're doing very good". I blushed, "Thank you sir but I'm sure you still have some tips for me". "Yeah well let's save that for later", Sam yelled as she rolled her eyes, "Can we go in and see him now?". I laughed while Jace came over, "I'm taking the girls inside. Skylar and Shawna will be here soon with Mira". I nodded and Cel argues, "I want to go in to see Blake!", then another voice interrupted us, "Hey everybody!". We turned to look at a man with a black bowler hat and dark shades on approaching us. "Who the hell is...", Sam started to say but when the man smiled, I began to smile as well as I recognized that smile. Tyler laughed, "This crazy guy". Then he took off his hat and shades and there was Jack Wilder waving at us.

"I had to sneak out of the airport and come here as soon as possible or the paparazzi would make me late", Jack smiled as he stood before us. "Oh I'm glad you could make it", I smiled and Blake's mum nodded as Jack stepped forward to greet them.

After finally debating if Cel should come or not, we finally made our way to the waiting room. We followed the crowd of family members going to see the teammates. "Blake!", Cel yelled as she ran to meet Blake who welcomed her with a hug. "Hey kiddo", he smiled but it didn't seem quite right but I'm sure everything will be fine when he sees his surprise. "Good luck on the field! I'll be yelling your name all the way", Cel squealed. "I'm not sure they'll allow that", Blake's father interrupted causing Blake to look upwards abruptly, "Dad? Mum? Oh my God", he smiled as he went to greet his parents, "How? How did you know?". "Rue told us! She paid for our tickets and all our expenses", Blake's mum smiled towards me. I blushed profusely as Blake turned to me with a huge smile on his face. He walked up to me and placed his hands on my face, "Hey". "Hi", I bit my lips to keep myself from blushing too hard. "Alright let's go to our seats everyone", Blake's dad said to the others as he winked at me before escorting them out.

"Sooo", Blake smirked as he rested his forehead on mine. I chuckled, "Did you love the surprise?", expecting him to nod but instead he whispered, "I love you". "Oh wow! Really? Haven't heard that one before", I said trying to ease his tension before the game starts. "Shut up", he laughed before giving me a peck on my lips. I frowned, "That's all I get? After everything?". "I'm saving the rest for tonight", he smiled as they blew the whistle, which was a signal for the rest of us to leave while the guys head to the changing room. I quickly held his face, "Blake". "Yeah?", he asked looking at me amusedly. "Be safe out there", I said in a serious tone which made him raise his brows and laugh, "Are you afraid? Come on, this isn't my first game! I'll be fine". I hit his shoulder, "Whatever you say". They blew the whistle again so he started walking along with the rest of the guys to the changing room. He turned back and mouthed, "I love you". Smiling, I mouthed, "I love you too".

There was a loud roar as they began to call out the teams. "Why am I nervous?", Sam laughed nervously. "Probably cause it's a long anticipated match?", Mira smiled sarcastically. I laughed but inside me, I felt nervous as well but I'd rather not mention it. Someone held my hand and I looked to the side to see Penny smiling up at me, "Don't be nervous. He'll do well, I trust him". "Me too", Cel added from the side although her attention was focused on the video she was recording. I smiled gratefully and patted Penny's head, "Thanks".

Once the game started, there was no time for chitchat, everyone down to Penny was focused on the game. I watched Blake as he ran around on the field, swear glistening down his face.

"Everything is repeating itself". "W..wh..what are you talking about?", I stuttered. "Open your eyes and see, my dear"

I shook my head. Why am I thinking of this now? I should forget about it then after the game, I can finally tell Blake.

The game continued till it was at 3-2, Blake's team on the winning side. A smile stayed on my face as I watched Blake run. The ball was headed out of the court so Blake was jogging to get it, then I noticed a guy from the other team running with high speed to catch up to Blake first and get the ball. "What is that guy...", Jace started to say and my smile slowly dropped as I watched the guy forcefully shove Blake aside to get the ball and my hands instinctively went to cover my mouth as I watched Blake's head with the same force, hit the side of the post. All noise seized in the stadium as I stared at Blake's motionless body.

The woman looked at me in pity as I held her hand, "Am..Am I going to...have an accident? Am...I going to die?". The lady held my hand, "You cannot understand fate, my dear. It may be you and the one you love but fate will take it's path"

I stared at Blake's lying figure as the stretcher was pulled beside him and they lifted him on the stretcher. I caught sight of blood and I gasped. My head started spinning

I turned to my side to see Jack holding me, "Let's go meet the medical team, okay? He'll be fine"

I nodded frantically and wiped my eyes as Jack led me behind the others as we rushed out of the stadium towards the back where an ambulance was pulled up. I spotted the stretcher and pushed through everyone, "Blake! Blake!", I cried as I reached the stretcher. He laid there, unconscious and there was already a towel around his head to seize the bleeding. I covered my mouth as tears poured out of my eyes and shook my head, "No! No!". Skylar reaches out to hug me so my head was on his chest.

The stretcher was pulled into the ambulance and after speaking with Blake's parents, they drove off. Blake's dad approached me, "We know the hospital they're going to. Do you want to...". "Yes yes yes let's go", I nodded eagerly as I tried to gather my thoughts. "I'll take Celine and Penny back to the house", Jess said to me and Celine knew not to argue as she looked very pale. I nodded and started heading for my car but Tyler held my hand, "Rue, you're not in the state to drive. Come with Sam and I". "I'll come with", Jack added. "We'll drive Mr and Mrs Andrews", Skylar said looking at them for permission and Blake's father nodded while his mother stood like she was still in shock. "I'll meet you guys at the hospital", Mira said heading for her car.

I sat at the back of the car with Jack as my body shook. He held my hand as the car remained dead silent.

This is all my fault! I should've saw this coming! I should've known.

I won't be able to live with myself if he doesn't survive...
