"What time is lover boy coming to get you?" Grayson says from my bed.

I turn my head to look at him. He's lying on my mattress and holding onto my stuffed brown bear that I've had since I was a child.

His name is Muffin and he's my cuddle buddy. That stuffed animal has seen a lot in its day, but he's easily my number one best friend.

Well, aside from the cocky asshole holding onto him and playing with his matted fur.

"He's coming at five thirty, which is soon." I smooth out my hair after running my straightener over it.

I changed my lipstick color four times to get the perfect shade. I wanted to match my light blue sundress that has a bunch of tiny red roses scattered across it. The material is soft and the attire is casual yet flirty.

"Is he going to come to the door and ring the bell?" Grayson smirks while keeping his eyes on Muffin.

"You mean like a gentleman? I sure hope." I spray Chanel No. 5 onto my collarbone and add a few bracelets to my wrist.

"Boring." He echoes my room with a loud voice. As I turn to shoot him an annoyed glare, he begins to laugh. "I'm kidding, relax. I'm just teasing you."

"You're an ass." I say while putting my wallet in my purse.

"I'm honored you invited me over to hang out with you while you get ready." He says while looking back at me.

"It's only because Jade's working tonight." I send him a low smirk, which causes him to roll his eyes.

"I'm shocked you didn't have plans with some local sorority girl. You were getting a lot of attention at the bonfire last night."

"I had my fun and needed a day to recover. When Grayson Dolan is newly single it spreads like wildfire. Girls line up at my door." He says while placing his arm over his head.

"Oh yeah, it's what everyone waits for." I sarcastically say.

As I'm slipping on my sandals, a loud bang comes from downstairs. The remodeling of the kitchen floors is taking a lot longer than expected, which annoys me.

"How long are they going to be working?" Grayson looks toward my door.

"I have no idea, but I can't take it any longer." I check the time on my phone and see it's almost five thirty. "Connor should be here soon. How do I look?"

He takes in every detail of my date night outfit before nodding his head in approval. "You look really pretty."

"Thanks." I smile and walk out of my room. Grayson quickly trails behind me.

"Honey, are you leaving for your date?" Mom says from the living room.

I turn to look at her and grin. "Yup, he should be here soon."

"You look beautiful." She smiles before shifting her eyes to Grayson. "I heard about your breakup, I'm sorry."

"Eh, don't worry about it Liz. I wasn't into her anymore." My best friend reassures her.
