It seemed as though hours had passed but, it was only a matter of minutes of an uncomfortable silence extended, lying amidst the spaces between Lysandra's crazed breaths.

The room twirled around in spirals, the objects appearing huge and her vision disfigured, making her clutch her head and shut her eyes close. Blood rushed into her head making and a dizzy feeling enveloped her, her heart thudding at a hundred mile speed within her chest. I have to get away, she thought, reaching her hands back with great difficulty and searching for the handle of the door behind her.

"Away. Take me away," she sobbed, speaking to herself with her voice trembling. Her breaths mingled with the repetitive pleas whose exact outlet she wasn't sure of.

One of her hand was successfully placed upon the door knob and the nails of her other hand dug into her palm, almost tearing the sensitive skin. She let out a breath of relief, trying to move her feet but, her body was paralysed, unable to move. It was all the same. A history repeating itself like a tape stuck in a recorder. A curse playing her time and again, ruining whatever little amount of happiness her heart stored within itself.

She cried harder, biting her lip as her chest grew tighter and bile threatened to rise up further from her throat. As if it was sorcery, the door swung open and her knees buckled. Her shivering frame hit the ground and her face remained unresponsive, used to the falls, perhaps due to one of the few advantages of being a fighter.

"Oh, good lord," gasped Jade, staring apologetically at a sprawled Lysandra. "I am so sorry, Lee. I was not aware you were standing behind the door."

Lysandra could do nothing but shudder and she wiped her tears with the haunches of her hands as sat up straighter, her feet tucked beneath her. Jade immediately noticed her bloodshot eyes and shaking frame, wrapped in a towel barely covering her up.

Gently lifting her to stand firmly, Jade pushed her into the bathroom, asking her to wash her face. After Lysandra mutely obeyed her command, she grabbed a pair of cotton shorts and a jumper, handing it to the dazed girl in the bathroom.

Within minutes, Lysandra padded into the bedroom to sit beside Jade on her bed. The older woman patted her back, rubbing it softly.

"The food is getting cold, darling," Jade nudged her. "Would you prefer if it were served here?"

"No, Jay," she spoke after what seemed like forever, her voice gruff and low. "We'll eat downstairs."

"I've ordered Tacos and pasta with chili peppers and tomatoes. You like Mexican, correct?"

Lysandra pulled her lips up into a weak smile, nodding with an added enthusiasm.

"Sweet! Let the fun begin," Jade chirped, shimmying while walking out the room as she gestured for Lysandra to follow.
