Obi-Wan sat beside Ahsoka and tried to not get too worried.

The girl's state kept getting worse and worse.

He could hardly feel her pulse.

It was as if she'd be already dead.

She looked dead.

Her skin was pale. Even for a human it would have been pale.

She hardly moved at all.

If she did, it was either caused by pain, or causing her pain.

"Here you go" Obi-Wan said, as he gently pulled her up against him and poured water into her mouth.

She choked a bit as the liquid touched her lips.

She managed to open her mouth a bit.

Her eyelids fluttered.

"Shh... Anakin will come back soon." Obi-Wan soothed her, stroking her feverish hot cheek.

She reacted on that touch with a slight movement, before she coughed heavily.

Obi-Wan sat the bowl down and gave her a moment to breathe.

She breathed hardly, as if the air would refuse to come

As if she'd be drowning.

The old Jedi Master rubbed her arm, as a sign that he was still there. That she wasn't alone.

It hurt him to see the girl like this. She didn't deserve this.

She was still so young. So pure. She deserved better than this.

As Ahsokas breath became calmer, he took the bowl again, giving her the rest of the water.

She choked again, but managed to drink what was left in the bowl.

Obi-Wan wanted to lay her down afterwards, so that she could rest.

When he tried, he felt her hand weakly grasping onto the edge of his sleeve.

"Ahsoka?" he asked, fairly sure she was able to hear him right now.

Her eyes were open.

Her gaze locked onto the sky, were the sun peaked above the horizon.

Another day.

They have been here for so long.

"You want to see the sunrise?" he asked slowly.

Ahsoka managed to nod.

It was barely visible, but Obi-Wan saw it nonetheless.

"Okay." he told her, leaning her back against him.

She winced a bit at that tiny movement, but kept her gaze on the sun.

Obi-Wan looked over to it as well.

Silently both of them watched the sunrise.

How the rays of her light peaked over the trees, letting their red and orange leaves shining in a bright golden.

The wind made Obi-Wan grab one of the blankets and lay it over Ahsoka, because it carried the cold of the nearing winter.

The wind was already pretty hard since they got there, but Obi-Wan had a feeling, that they could be worse.

He saw how smooth and even the stone of a nearby rock formation was.

It was to far from the river to been carved that smooth by the water.

So there was only the wind left for it.

He made sure Ahsoka was covered well by the blanket.

She was already hurt enough, she shouldn't have to freeze as well.

When the sun was completely up, she turned her head to look at Obi-Wan.

Her voice was broken and weak.

Her lips barely moving.

"I... can't... h...ol...d ... o...n ... any...mo...re..." she choked out.

Shock spread over Obi-Wans mind, when he heard that.

"No Ahsoka, you have to hold on. Anakin will be back in no time. Then you'll be okay again."

Ahsokas head lolled a bit to the side. Not much, but enough for the Jedi-Master to notice.

"I... c...can...'t..." she forced out, her lips disobeying her will.

Obi-Wan laid two fingers under her chin, making her look back up.

"You. Will. Survive. This." The Jedi said with all the persuasiveness he had.

No. Not the Jedi.

The man.

It was not the Jedi-Master who was worried.

It was the Person.

The Person who didn't want to loose anyone else close to him.

Who didn't want to loose this bright beam of light next to him.

"You have to survive this. Please." he slowly said.

She looked up.

Then her gaze went to the sun.

"O...ne ... d...a..." she wasn't able to finish.

Her head lolled to her side and she went unconscious in the Masters arms.
