You've got no idea how proud I am of this one! So... have fun reading it I guess? And please feedback if you might... I really wanna now wether you guys like this style of chapter.

The next days were awfully exhausting for her. Yet she still enjoyed them a lot.

They practised to talk.

Obviously Ahsoka did know how to talk. The problem was that not moving for so long together with the stress the infection put upon her body she did literally not have the strength to do so properly.

So that's what they practised.

They started small. Obi-Wan was telling stories of Anakin being a Padawan, encouraging her to leave snarky comments.

Anakin did try to complain at the beginning, but seeing how they made Ahsoka smile and laugh he quickly changed his mind.

To be honest, there were some memories among it that he cherished too.

The first days Ahsokas comments weren't longer than a word, maybe two sometimes.

But after getting actual food for a few days in a row, she slowly started to become more talkative.

Eating was one of the other things. Still barely able to chew she needed hours to actually finish a piece of meat.

At first Anakin suggested they could just cut the meat into very small pieces, so that she wouldn't have to chew but actually Ahsoka herself discarded the idea.

"I...it ... fe...els ... so ... g... g... go...od .. to ...eat... ag..ag..again." she had forced out. That also was the longest sentence she said that day.

And as they didn't have much to do, they let her take her time to eat the meat. Soon to realise that that exercise also helped with her speaking.

Though Anakin still needed to hold it in front of her. Her arms certainly didn't have their strength back yet.

Rex regularly went outside to gather plants, roots and so on, so that they could save most of their meat storage for later, when plants weren't available any longer.

That also brought up the question about Ahsoka being carnivorous, yet eating plants and normal nutritive concentrates once again.

She rolled her eyes, and they weren't aware wether that was because of the question itself or because of her problems to answer it, thanks to her speaking issues.

"Come on. It'll be a great practice" Obi-Wan said. Actually a bit curious too.

Ahsoka, rolling her eyes again in annoyance, did decide to at least try.

"Well..." she was quite proud that the first word came out so well "y...y...yo...u" and there her problems were again. She did have some issues to form the 'ou' lately. "... kno...ow ... h...how ... nu...nutritive con...sentrates" dang 'c'. "are ... made.. f...for o...omnivores?" that part of the sentence went smoothly...

Obi-Wan nodded.

"S...so ... giving... the...the...them to ca...rnivo...rs is... isn...'t ...go...od"

"Yeah, figured that" Anakin said. "But I'm quite sure I saw you eating some more than once."

"Y...a"

She took a short break, her jaw hurting from usage, before continuing.

She took it upon herself to force her words to go out even this time, which was a considerable feat for her.

"But... they... are... used... for... a... re...re...reason... right?"

That went smoother then she expected. Though it was quite hard."

"You're doing good Ahsoka! That was perfect."

Even through the exhaustion settling in her Ahsoka forced herself to smile slightly. Yes she was proud of that sentence too.

A moment of silence followed, until Rex picked up on her last question.

"Yes they are used for a reason. Their easy to storage, don't get bad quickly, are supposed to be eatable for the most species. Just seemingly 'most' is meaning omnivores I assume?"

"Y...a" she breathed deeply, deciding to try another smooth sentence. She could sleep afterwards. "So... changing ... them.... w'd .... be ...bad."

Kriffing 'would'! Kriffing 'ou'! At least the rest of the sentence was good.

"Yeah. Kinda" Anakin replied.

"'specially... fo...r ... Je...e...di. ... Tr...a...avel....ling... t... o ... mu...much" dang there the evenness of her talking was going downhill.

"Yep" Anakin replied. Noticing the struggling of his student, he decided to draw his answer out a little longer to give her a break. "So as I saw you eat berries when Rex brought them I assume they decided to fix the problem by changing the carnivore part rather than the nutritive concentrates?"

"Y...yes" Ahsoka replied. Thankful for her masters thoughtfulness.

"Guess they couldn't have changed the nutritive concentrate part of it anyway. Judging by how often we would be in places were we can't control it, like diplomate ships and stuff weren't it for the war" Anakin added, remembering his own padawanhood."

"It would be quite a logistic issue to solve it in wartime too Ankain" Obi-Wan added, not happy for his former Padawans disgrace at politics.

"Okay so they do what?" Rex asked "feed you plants until you stop vomiting from them?"

Ahsoka forced herself to another smile. Her vod had a quite plain humor from time to time.

"The...the...they" argh! Her sentences had to get better. 'Okay Ahsoka. One more even sentence. You got this.' she told herself.

"ma...make... our... bodies... produce ... ensymes..." kriffing 'z'! "enzymes... that... can... di...digest... plantma...terial... for... us."

"Wait so they just give you an injection and you magically can eat plants?"

"ta...kes ...awhile... like... year... or... so." she mumbled. clearly more exhausted now, but determined to finish her sentence evenly. "V...vomit a lot... in begin...ning..."

Anakin stroked her head, as he noted that she was too exhausted now. "It's okay Ahsoka. You can go to sleep."

And with that she was out in an instant. But it was the longest talk in a while and they all were proud of her.

From then on she got a lot more talkative. The next time she was awake she told them how it works, which took her so long, that she fell asleep again from exhaustion before finishing properly.

And she told them about how she ate plants for the first time, a shuura in her case, which was an awesome experience for her. After all, there was no meat as sweet as a shuura. They learned that that was why it was her favourite fruit.

With each day her speech became stronger.

She wasn't back to her old self just yet, having to take a nap for energy after every conversation, but she was improving. She was recovering.
