"Let me guess, going to swap saliva with the snake?" George said as Fred climbed out of his bed around one in the morning.

Fred rolled his eyes and tossed a pillow at George. It tired him constantly having to defend Catina and it hurt him knowing it was George he was going against. He left the bedroom and actually ran into Catina on the stairs. Instead of wearing her pyjamas, she was dressed in low cut jeans and a hoodie. She had a bag in her hand and her coat in the other.

"What are you doing?" Catina's shoulders slumped and she didn't look him in the eyes. "Cat?"

The girl ignored Fred and continued down the flights of stairs finding Juno at the bottom. Juno even had a little coat on (which Fred looked very baffled about). She scooped the little cat up in her arms, pressed him close to her chest and made a beeline to the front door.

She opened it and stepped right out but the icy steps made her slip and she tumbled down them, Juno leaping from her arms to break his own fall. Fred's she's widened and he darted after her, carefully going down the steps and crouching down beside her. He took her arms and started to pull her up.

"What? Huh?" Said Catina looking at her surroundings. "What happened?"

Fred hailed her up and nodded at Juno to follow him as he carried the girl back into the house. He made sure Catina did not notice the cuts in the palms of her hands and the rip on her jeans right on the kneecap. He kicked the door shut and entered the living room.

"I think you were sleep walking, no wonder you didn't look me in the eye." He told her setting them both on the sofa but keeping her in his lap. "You're so used to running away, eh?"

Catina shrugged, "guess it's in my nature if I can sleep walk and do it." She replied, "I'm such a mess, aren't I?"

"You may be a mess but I like a mess, have you seen my room?"

She laughed and wrapped her arms around him, shifting to sit directly facing him. Her eyes searched his which were full of worry. "You still worried about your dad?"

"A little, I know he's home now but it still doesn't diminish the fact he was attacked." Catina brushed her hand through Fred's messy hair and let him release all of his built up emotions on the situation. "I genuinely thought I was going to lose my dad and I don't know what I would do if I had done. My dad is the best dad in the world and delete his obsession with muggle contraptions and the muggle ways and how cooky he can be, I love him to pieces. He would encourage me and George with our pranks when we were younger, of course, we could never tell mum that he did. He provides everything for our family, he works long hours and does over time just to see us through, he bends over backwards for us despite the treatment he gets from his colleagues. He goes through so much shit and this is what he gets! I swear if I ever get hold of that snake I will kill it because nobody or nothing does that to my father!"

Fred sighed and rested his head on her chest. They sat in silence for a little while and she just rubbed his back. It may be selfish to think of it in that moment but she secretly yearned to have someone to think like that about. Fred adored his father and that was clear, Catina wished she could feel what that felt like.

"I'm sorry for ranting, kitten, please don't tell anyone you saw me like this. I don't want anyone to find out-"

"Find our just how much you love your father? Fred, you can show your emotions, your father got attacked! Don't ever hide your feelings, let them show, darling."

With his head still in her chest, Fred hugged her tightly. "I wish it was that simple."

"It is. Forget this toxic masculinity and just do it. Don't care what others think, after all, you'll be more respectable for doing so than hiding it."

Fred lifted his head up slowly, he tilted it slightly to the right and he peppered her face with kisses. Catina squirmed a little, a smile growing in her lips as a giggle tumbled out. "For someone who just sleepwalked and fell down some stairs, you sure as hell are wise right when you wake up."

Catina giggles again as he attacked her with kisses once more. He glanced down at his watched and back at his girlfriend. "Merry Christmas, kitten."

"Merry Christmas?"

"You don't sound so sure."

"Sorry, I've never had to say it before." She replied, "merry Christmas."

Fred lifted her up and stood up, wrapping her legs around his waist. "I'll make this a Christmas for you to remember, trust me."

From the doorway, George moved away not thinking it was wise to continued watching as his brother made out with Catina once more. His brother had become a totally new person. How could he go for Catina? He still was baffled by it all.

He didn't return to bed, instead, he fell asleep at the dining table, waking up just as his mother and his sister came bundling into the room. "Merry Christmas, George!" Said Ginny.

"Merry Christmas," he returned.

"Have you seen, Cat? She wasn't in bed when I woke up."

"Not a clue, Gin, not a clue..."
