Kai's POV

"Umm.. Noah, what are you doing?"
He wiggles around to sit up.
"I was bored and you were sleeping," he says.
"There's a TV," I chuckle.
"I don't want to watch TV," he says innocently.
After I made him breakfast and we ate, we watched TV.
We were sitting on the couch, but he wasn't wearing his usual oversized black hoodie.
He was wearing my coat which was still huge compared to him.
He sat in my lap, turned around, and we kissed until someone rang the doorbell.
"I'll get it," I mumble, having to get away from him.
When I opened the door, there was a policeman standing there.
"I'm looking for a Noah Adams," he says in a deep, scratchy voice.
I turn around and look at Noah. He looks terrified.
He walks in.
"You must be Noah. You have no legal guardians. Both of your parents lost custody of you, so you'll be sent into foster care."
Noah's eyes widen as he moves closer to me.
"I.. Need to make.. A phone call.." I stutter.
I run upstairs to my room and text my Mom.

Mom!!

Hey Honey, what's up?

What's Molly's phone number??

What happened?

So you remember Noah's step-dad got sent to jail? His mom got sent to jail and his dad doesn't have custody over him.

Well why do you need Molly?

A police is here and wants to take him to foster care.

That didn't answer my question.

I need Molly to adopt him..

How do you know she'll do it? She has important stuff to do.

Mom, if she adopts him, we can just keep him here.

Fine. Her phone number is 916-836-8401.

I call the phone number.
"Hello?" She asks.
"Molly? Is that you?"
"Oh, Kai! I didn't know you had my phone number. How's your mom?"
"She-she's fine. I need something really important."
"Yes?"
I start breathing quickly.
"C-Can you adopt Noah? He'll have to go into a foster home if nobody adopts him."
"Oh, sure!"
I take a big sigh of relief.
I walk back downstairs, shoving my phone in my pocket.
"I'll be here tomorrow morning to take you," he says, leaving.
Noah stands up and runs to me, choking on his tears.
"Don't let them take me!"
"Baby, I won't.." I mumble.
He digs his head into my chest, covering his face with his hands.
"Please don't!!"
I pick him up and carry him to our room.
I lay him down on the bed, then sit next to him.
"Kai," he whispers. "Please, please don't let them take me."
The bell rang again, so I ran downstairs, nearly tripping with each step
Answering the door, it wasn't Molly. It was the police officer.
"I forgot to give you this. It's an adoption form. Someone can adopt him." Molly pulls up to the house.
"Who's that?" The officer asks.
"She wants to adopt him."
He hands the adoption form to Molly.
After she signs it, the officer gives me a phone number and the adoption form.
"Get his real parents to sign it before tomorrow morning and call me."
Him and Molly leave.
Noah walks downstairs slowly.
"Who was that?" He mumbles.
"Oh.. It was the police officer and Molly."
I began explaining what happened.
He slightly smiles, hugging me.
"But.. We need your parents' signatures.."
He frowns.
We get in the car and drive to his Mom's house.
I knock on the door. Noah's standing right behind me. His Mom answers.
"What?" She mumbles, wearing only under-clothes.
"I need you to sign this," I say. She was clearly drunk, so I hope she can still do her signature.
She snatches the pen from me and writes a somewhat legible signature.
Me and Noah walk back to the car.
"Where does your Dad live?" I hand him my phone so he can type the address on Google Maps.
He hands it back.
I pull up to a 3-story house that looks very fancy.
"Your dad lives here?" I ask.
He nods his head as he turns away, embarrassed.
I set my hand on his thigh.
"What's wrong?" He turns towards me and he's crying.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
"He... He..." Noah whispered.
"He.. R-Raped.. Me.." My eyes widen.
"Why would he do that?"
He shrugs his shoulders, shaking in fear.
"Is he your real Dad?" He shakes his head.
"My Mom married my real Dad, but they divorced before I was born. She married him next and they divorced when I was seven."
I pull him towards me for a hug, then we get out and walk to the door.
I'm holding his hand tightly.
I knock on the door. No answer, so I knock again.
Noah walks away and rings the doorbell.
Someone answered. It was a man. He was a bit shorter than me, had gray hairs, and looked a bit buzzed.
He stands there staring at me.
"Well?" He didn't seem to notice Noah behind me.
"I.. Need you to sign this. It's umm.."
Noah whispers behind me.
"Tell him it's for voting to get rid of mayonnaise."
I thought it was a bit weird, but I say it anyway.
"It's for getting rid of mayonnaise."
He takes it, signs it, then shoves it to my chest.
"Hey," he pauses, then continues.
"Want to come inside?" I shake my head.
"We need to go."
"We?"
He sees Noah and smiles.
"Been a while Noah." He leans over and whispers loud enough for me to hear him.
"I miss the feeling of you being inside me." Noah whimpered and I pick up Noah and run to the car.
I didn't have enough time to put him in the passenger seat since his Dad chases me down, so Noah had to crawl over me while I was driving which was extremely uncomfortable.
I sat on the couch, waiting for Noah to get out the shower.
Molly was here and the policeman was a few minutes away.
Noah walked out the bathroom and gave me a hug. He didn't dry his hair all the way, so my shirt was wet.
The doorbell rang. I open the door, expecting the officer, but it's someone far worse..
