The Sun Is Brighter Than The Rain- 5/6

I feel happy for not giving up

Completely over the years.

I'm optimistic about where we might go.

I'm not a trusting person but neither are you,

But i'm going to try and trust in you,

So don't break my heart in two.

I'm a peaceful person,

I try not to hold a grudge, I stay out all the drama.

We are powerful people,

A little bit too stubborn, A little bit too head strong,

But we never give up, it's not something that we do.

I've accepted we may never have a perfect relationship,

No one ever does.

I'm proud of how far you've come,

Since i was a wee wee lassie.

I'm interesting in getting to know you,

To letting you in - a bit at a time.

I used to be content where we used to be,

I didn't see my sadness, i didn't see my pain

That i felt inside, day after day.

I know you're a playful person,

You love a laugh and joke around.

I feel inspired to start again,

I wasn't giving you a fair chance,

While i held onto the past.

I'm hopeful we can do this,

We all need to change.

I know i can be sensitive,

That's never going to change-

I've been through too much in life,

It changed me along the way.

I'm thankful that you're trying,

Just that little bit.

I know you're a loving father,

I always see your good side too,

Perhaps not creative but others will do.

I value you trying, I value your thoughts.

I may not have always respected your choices,

You made a few dumb ones along the way.

I'm confident you can be better,

I know i can too.

We could be successful if we wanted,

It may take a mistake or two,

Until we find our way.

I'm curious about your past,

And why you don't let people in.

I know you may seem cheerful but you're really hurting,

Deep down inside.

You're free to do as you please,

To be funny, Cheeky or annoying.

I've always saw the good in you,

Even as i cried.

But please i want my father,

Back in my life.
