Chapter 39 The Rule, Not The Exception 🔥

Start from the beginning

"Pretty sure'amazing girl' is code for 'good in bed'." Snickered Namjoon, trying to lighten the mood. Earning a deathly glare from Jin, and a definite punch later when he was least expecting it.

"I'm not an expert, because let's be honest, who knows how the female mind works.." flipping through the menu, Yoongi felt the need to give his two cents without coming off as being preachy. ".. but if you don't even want to talk to her about this, and have been avoiding her.. Doesn't that say something about where your relationship is at?"

"Just shut up and pick your dinner." As always, Jin didn't like his bandmates meddling with his relationship. It was a pride thing, but he also didn't like them telling him how he was feeling, when he hadn't even figured it out himself.

Knowing not to push their luck, Yoongi and Namjoon didn't dare bring the topic up again all night. Plus if there was one person that could tell Yoongi to shut up, it was Jin.

They ordered their usuals and dined with the recommended wine pairings. Between the three of them, they managed to open their fourth bottle of wine as they drank their sorrows away.

"Look at us!" belted a slightly intoxicated Namjoon, he held his wine glass up to toast his band brothers. "Just three men who are never short on girl problems!"

A chorus of laughter roared out of the aforementioned men.

"No shit.." Jin added, after taking a massive gulp from his glass. "Between my crazy girlfriend, your kinda sorta girlfriend, and Yoongi's shitty ex girlfriend.. we can't catch a break!"

Both Yoongi and Namjoon applauded his exposition, and an even more uproarious round of laughs accompanied their rowdy glass clinking. They were definitely tipsy. Because if Jin wasn't under any sort of influence, he wouldn't be joking about the sorry state of his relationship.

"Well actually.." Yoongi added after the men had settled down into a natural idle in conversation. ".. a true man doesn't kiss and tell.. but I've been fooling around with Y/N, and I gotta tell you.. she's pretty amazing."

"Now that was definitely code for crazy good sex!" Yelled an obnoxious Jin who was now standing up and throwing his back out from an uncontrollable cackle.

As Suga stood up to approach his elder, he mockingly echoed Jin's ridiculous laugh. He put his arm around his hyung and playfully punched him in his gut, causing Jin to stagger back. Somehow, he managed to not spill a drop of his wine. The punch was hard enough for him to feel it, but not so much that he was in any sort of danger. The two were now laughing like old ahjussis who were about to pass out on the streets. Yoongi's low laugh being drowned out by Jin's windshield wipping chortle.

And amidst the havoc these two were causing, Namjoon suddenly became more reserved. Sitting there calmly sipping from his wine glass, the leader was suddenly a lot more sober as he processed this new piece of information he heard.

After my weird coffee 'date' with Jihye, I rushed back to the office, narrowly making my start time. I couldn't help but think of the words she said.

You are the rule, not the exception.

What bothered me the most is that if someone as beautiful and likable as Jihye felt that way, where was I supposed to stand.

As always, I was avoiding Namjoon, not wanting another confrontation. Unknowingly, I had been carrying that note in my pocket ever since he's given it to me. That scrunched up piece of paper a constant reminder of what he was going through. Throughout today's schedule, Namjoon was categorically deadpan. Missing his cues more than usual at dance practice, not listening to instructions when being spoken to by a manager, just all together all over the place. I knew that even without the piece of paper, Namjoon was thinking about it too.
