Instead of sleeping in their respective rooms, we ended up just having a massive 'slumber party' in the living room. The four of us crashed on the sofa and mattresses on the floor after our long night of gaming.

And somehow, I had been wedged between both Hoseok and Jungkook.

By the time I was ready to close my eyes, everyone else was already snoring, or so I thought.

I adjusted to find a comfortable sleeping position and turned to my right. Jungkook was sleeping on his side too, facing me. His eyelids were angelicly shut. His features almost artistic up close. I sighed as I unintentionally admired him from proximity.

"Umm Y/N.. Sorry.. But can you.. Can you not face me right now?" Jungkook suddenly blurted, clearly not asleep. He was stumbling over his words, and I could see how uncomfortable he was again to be near me. "You're.. just really close.."

His shyness made the blood rush to my cheeks. I didn't even think much of what I was doing, but now I felt a little self conscious too. Any closer and we would be touching.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I'm being weird, you're right, I'll stop now."

I coughed to interrupt the awkardness between us. Quickly turning around, I was greeted by Hobis wide back. His broad shoulders stood strong under his shirt. I guess with his personality and tendency to be a bit of a goofball, I had never seen him in that light.

"I made a promise. Remember?"

His words ringing in my ears, I was reminded of our first meeting. I didn't even realise it was the same Hoseok I had known in middle school. We were such good friends before I moved away. After that rainy day, he was there for me every day. I remember eating lunch with him out under the sun as I retold all the crap I had to deal with that week. I remember him showing me all the new dance moves he had learnt at his dance club. And I remembered moving away and losing contact with each other as we grew older and apart. It all felt like a lifetime ago.

I lied down on the shared mattress, reminiscing about how simple everything had been as a kid.

How not too long ago, I had felt that same feeling in Namjoon's arms.

But the problem with the past is: no matter how hard you hold on to it, it's already gone.

Drowning in memories and this bittersweet feeling, I slowly drifted deeper into the night.

Just as I was about to fall asleep, I felt Hoseok move in front of me. His forehead was now inches away from me, and his hand gently held mine under our chins. Judging from his snoring, he was definitely asleep. And as he slowly snaked his shin over mine, I welcomed his comforting touch like a glass of warm milk to help me fall asleep.

I woke up the next morning to a set of strong arms over my body. Snuggled in someone's embrace, I assumed it was Hobi's. But when my eyes adjusted to the light peeking through the living room window, I realised I had been sleeping the same way and yet he wasn't in front of me. I was being spooned by someone I couldn't see.

Abruptly, I turned around to see Jungkook who was wide awake. Looking at the blushing maknae, I realised he was trying hard to avoid eye contact.

"Morning Y/N.." He said rather meekly. "Umm.. I kind of woke up like this.. and you seemed comfortable so.."

"Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry again!" Sitting up quickly, I clasped my hands together, begging for forgiveness. I had put him in an uncomfortable position once more. "It's like I'm always sleeping on you!"

Thinking back to New Years Eve, I mentally face palmed.

What's wrong with me?!

"No, it's alright," He anxiously smiled, one hand rubbing the back of his neck. "I didn't want to wake you.."
