She looked straight at me, and that's when I realised she was dead serious with this convoluted pep talk.
"The cute guy never goes for the awkward, ugly girl.." Jihye paused dramatically, and without blinking she continued. "When a guy says he's busy, it means he's not interested or he's just not that into you.. and guys hate it when a girl makes the first move because it makes them feel less manly, and calling first after a date makes you look desperate."
"Look, whether it's you or me, we need to remember that those girls in the movies.. they're the exception.." Jihye continued and gulped the rest of her drink. She finished it so she could leave as soon as she had made her point.
"..in the real world, you are the rule, not the exception."

"Heyyyy guys!" the girl in the sun dress was all smiles as she pulled a chair out, inviting herself to join the table. "Your managers said you'd be here!"
"Yoojoo what are you doing here?" barked an unimpressed Jin.
The eldest was at dinner with Yoongi and RM at their favourite Italian restaurant tonight. As usual, they were sitting in a reserved back room, away from the other patrons.
"Well," she leaned in and kissed Jin's cheeks like an Italian would. Placing her napkin on her lap before she continued. ".. you haven't exactly been boyfriend of the year, and when I found out you were out, I thought we could have date night!"
"It's not date night. I'm having dinner with Namjoon and Yoongi. You're interrupting." Jin was running on a low supply of patience, and it was getting very uncomfortable for the rest of the table.
"Ohhhh I'm sure they don't mind.." flashing and innocent smile, Yoojoo tried to charm the other two men. "I wanted to catch up with you guys anyways! How have you been?"
Caught between a rock and hard place, Namjoon played along with the charade, unsure of what else to do. Namjoon reluctantly replied, clearing his throat before answering. "We've been good, we have a comeback coming out soon."
"That's exciting! Tell me more-"
"Alright, that's enough." Getting up, Jin pulled Yoojoo's chair out, ushering her towards the door. "You need to leave."
"But-" she begged, unfortunately, Jin didn't give her a chance to rebut.
"No buts. I haven't contacted you because I said I needed space."
"Oh come on Seokjin, stop being silly." As a last ditch effort, the short haired girl tried to hug her boyfriend in an attempt to sway his decision.
But not buying into her baby-like behaviour, the hyung managed to get Yoojoo through the door, returning by himself after successfully getting her to leave.
"Look, I know you don't like us asking.." started Namjoon, knowing full well he may get punched for this. ".. but what was that about? Are you guys breaking up again?"
Sighing, Jin had no idea where to begin. "Fine. I'll only say this once, because I owe you guys for her barging in on our dinner, but long story short, she doesn't tell me when she shoots with other men, or even when she has to do sex scenes with her co-stars, and yet she always gets extremely jealous when I do any kind of fan service."
"Right." Yoongi chimed. "So you dumping her?"
"No." Jin spat angrily. You could tell he was close to it though. "Not yet, I don't know. I just needed some space to think things through, she's such an amazing girl but she doesn't respect that!"
