Audrey didn't realize the extent of what having control of the cure meant. Well, she did. She got to decide who could have it, who could have the life they desired. For a while now, she hoped it would be Rebekah who got it, and now she had the power to give it to her. Only now they were back in Mystic Falls, she also had Klaus to deal with, who was now desperate to have the cure for reasons other than making hybrids. While they were in Willoughby, Klaus was dealing with Silas in Mystic Falls, who had actually managed to scare him into thinking he was dying. All in order to threaten him into giving him the cure.

With a sibling pleading their cases in either ear, Audrey wasn't getting a moment of peace. In an attempt to help, the four sat around a table in mansion, gathered for a family meeting Elijah had called. He wanted to make this easier on Audrey, as this allowed both his siblings a moment to give their reasons, and let her think it through before making a definite choice.

"Being a human is a fresh start." Rebekah looked at Audrey honestly. "I can grow old and have a family and fill my days with meaning, knowing that each one matters."

Klaus let out a laugh. "Well, that was poetic."

"Klaus." Audrey gave him an unimpressed look.

"Well, it was." He defended simply, earning a glare from his sister.

"Well, if you can provide us with a more compelling reason for wanting the cure, Klaus, please." Elijah told him.

"Silas can appear as anyone. He got inside my thoughts, convinced me I was dying." He reminded as he leaned forward. "He will torment me until I give him the cure."

Rebekah nodded. "And in doing so he will break down the wall to the Other Side." She shot back.

"So it doesn't trap him there when he dies. He wants to reunite with his lost soulmate." Klaus looks to Elijah. "You of all lovesick fools should applaud his devotion."

Audrey let out a scoff of offense. "Comments like that aren't helping you case."

Rebekah still just shook her head at the idea. "He will open the floodgates for every supernatural being that has ever died."

"Including our dear brothers, Kol and Finn." He sat back with a triumphant smile, clearly confident in his argument. "We'll have our family back."

"Please." Rebekah rolled her eyes. "You hated Kol and you kept Finn in a box for most of his life."

Klaus ignored her, looking at the Gilbert girl, who held her head in her hands with a sigh. "Audrey, please."

She glanced at Elijah, who gave her a reassuring nod. She knew he was going to back her up, whatever decision she came to, which gave her some comfort. Though as she looked between Klaus and Rebekah, she knew one way or another, this wasn't going to end well. "I can't put the whole world in danger just to stop your discomfort, Klaus. As much as I would love to bring Kol back, I can't do it." She began, and a frown instantly appeared on his face, as hope appeared in Rebekah's eyes. "I've said for a while now Rebekah deserves the cure, and I want to give her a shot at happiness."
