Caroline left early the next morning, after a conversation with Elena after the phone. Apparently, things were going badly for the group hunting for the cure. Bonnie, Jeremy, and Shane were missing, and there were signs someone had taken Damon too, leaving Elena, Stefan, and Rebekah trying to figure out what to do. They had the pictures of Jeremy's tattoo to lead them to the cure, but they needed a way to translate it, which now had became Caroline's mission.

Finding the hunters sword to do exactly that.

While she left to search the mansion for it, Audrey stayed at the Gilbert house with Klaus, wanting nothing to do with the cure. She was just waiting until Elijah finally arrived, more than ready to leave Mystic Falls. When Klaus found out, he didn't fight her on it. He could tell she needed to get away again, and he knew Elijah would look after her better than anyone. The pair were just sat in a comfortable silence, when the front door opened, Caroline coming back in wearing fresh clothes. Tyler was at her side, the hunters sword in his hands, and the moved toward the couch.

"Well, if it isn't little orphan Lockwood." Klaus began with a smirk. "Come to show how laughably impotent you are against me?"

"I'm just trying to help my friends find the cure." Tyler said calmly, pulling the cover off of the sword as Caroline sat down. "Found this in your attic."

Klaus looked bemused. "And you think finding the sword brings you closer to the cure?"

"You tell me." The Lockwood boy shrugged. "I was playing around with the handle on the way over, and I found this." Tyler unwraps the leather on the handle, revealing a cryptex.

Getting to his feet, Klaus walks toward the doorway, getting as close as he could as he raised a brow. "And what do you think 'this' is?"

"It's called a cryptex." The Forbes and Gilbert girl answered in stereo.

Both men looked at them in disbelief, and the girls simply grinned at one another. "We've seen The Da Vinci Code." Audrey mused. "We were having a Tom Hanks movie marathon one night."

"It was surprisingly more interesting then we thought." Caroline nodded, getting to her feet to have a better look. " You turn the different sides to the different symbols to get the translation on the other side." She turns toward the table. "And with the magic of the internet, Elena sent over these." She holds up multiple pictures of Jeremy's tattoo. "So now all we have to do is cryptex away. If you happened to want to help, we wouldn't stop you." She looked at Klaus and Audrey.

Audrey simply held her hands up. "No. I'm no longer involved in anything concerning the cure or my siblings."

Tyler sent her a flat look at her words, as Caroline sighed, but nodded in understanding. Audrey sent her a small smile, knowing she wouldn't push her to help. "Right." Klaus nodded after a moment. "Well, might I suggest using the magic of the internet to purchase an Aramaic-to-English dictionary from your nearest retailer."
