Audrey was confused when she woke up. She placed her hands flat on the soft surface beneath her, and sat herself upright, looking around to take in her surroundings. Within a moment, she clocked that she was in a bedroom, the soft feeling beneath her being a mattress. Her eyes glanced to the picture frame on the bedside table, and she then knew where she was exactly. Only Alaric would have a picture of himself and Jenna in his room. Pushing to her feet, she made her way toward the door, stepping out into the main apartment warily. She had no idea how long it had been since the Grill, or what she was going to walk out there into. She could see the sky was dark out of the window, some streams of moonlight pouring through the glass.

"No. Don't leave mad." She heard her own voice say.

"Us ending up on good terms isn't exactly on my bucket list, Katherine." Damon's voice deadpanned coldly.

Audrey looked toward the front door, to see Katherine locking Damon's attempt to leave. "Klaus made me call Jenna to lure her out. There was nothing that I could do. I didn't have a choice."

"Jenna?" Both Katherine and Damon's heads snapped to look at the Gilbert girl, who furrowed her brow in confusion. "What about Klaus and Jenna?"

Damon ignored her question as he walked toward her. "You okay?" He asked, checking her over. He didn't give her chance to answer, taking her wrist. "Great. You're coming with me."

"What's going on?" Audrey yanked her hand from his grip, shaking her head as he gave her a look. "I'm not going anywhere till I know what's wrong, Damon. What has Klaus done to Jenna?"

"He had me lure her out to be the vampire in the sacrifice." Katherine said bluntly after a moment, as Damon tried and failed to get the words out. The Salvatore turned and glared at her, as Audrey stared at her ancestor, her face frozen. "I had no choice."

"That's why I gave you vervain." Damon shot back, shaking his head. "So you had a choice."

"I was her or me." Katherine defended. "I chose her."

Whatever Damon said next didn't register with Audrey. She could hear her heart thumping in her ears, bile rising up in the back of her throat. Klaus was going to use Jenna as the vampire. After everything they had done to keep her safe, she was going to die. Jenna had been there when she woke up after the accident, and looked after Elena, Audrey and Jeremy like they were her own kids. They had already lost so many people they loved, they couldn't lose Jenna too.

Audrey wasn't sure any of them would survive losing more family.

"Come on, little Gilbert." Damon pulled Audrey in the direction of the door. "I'm going to offer myself as a replacement to Klaus."

"What?" Audrey and Katherine let out in sync.

"He won't take you." Katherine told him. "He saw your bite, he said that your blood is impure. I'm sorry, Damon. But Jenna's dead, there's nothing you can do about it."
