Audrey didn't really get any sleep. She tossed and turned for a few hours, and got up when she heard a commotion going on in the hall, which turned out to be Alaric and aunt Jenna. After that, she curled up in the bed with her bedside lamp on, reading a book into the early hours of the morning. So, to say she was tired when she went down for breakfast, was a massive understatement. Elena rose a brow as she padded into the kitchen, seeing the dark circles beneath her twins eyes, and simply handed her a mug of coffee.

"Thank you." Audrey mumbled through a yawn, taking a seat at the kitchen island. She didn't stay sat still long, getting up after taking a large gulp of coffee, and starting to search through the cupboards. "Do we have any poptarts left?"

"Jeremy took the last pack before he left." Elena answered, heading for the door as soon as the bell rang.

Audrey let out a groan, closing the cupboard a little more forcefully then she intended to. "Cereal it is." She grumbled, grabbing cornflakes and a bowl, before making her way toward the fridge. It was as she was closing the door, her sister walked back into the kitchen, the Salvatore brothers following behind her. "Why are you two here so early?"

"They talked to Katherine." Elena informed her.

   "Oh."

So, the brothers went on to tell them their conversation with Katherine. Apparently, in exchange for her release from the tomb, she'd hand over the moonstone to them. Once she was out, she'd run as far from Mystic Falls as possibly, and they'd never have to hear from her again.

Audrey let out a scoff instantly. "You don't believe her, do you?"

"No, of course not." Damon shook his head, just as skeptical of the deal as she was. "We just want the moonstone."

"According to Rose's friend Slater, there's a way to destroy the spell Klaus wants to break." Stefan explained to them.

"No spell, no doppelganger sacrifice." Damon continued on. "Ergo, you two live."

Elena remained emotionless as she asked. "How do you destroy it?"

"By releasing it from the moonstone."

"How do you guys even know this is gonna work?" Elena asked, and Audrey narrowed her eyes on her sister at that.

Something was wrong, she knew that for sure. Elena had been in a funny mood since their conversation with Katherine, especially after it was revealed what Klaus did to her family. Audrey understood, as Caroline had called her out on her own strange mood, that she simply brushed off as trying be a better best friend. It was a clear lie, one Caroline saw straight through, but she didn't push the topic further.

Damon smirked, perching himself on the counter beside the youngest twin. "Cause we have a crafty witch on our side." Audrey frowned, quickly smacking his hand away as he reached for her coffee mug.
