II - KATERINA

     The Salvatore boarding house was the last place Audrey wanted to be. The only place she wanted to be was at home, curled up in bed. After everything that happened, she argued that she earned a day hiding away from the world, but Elena forced her to get up and dressed. Apparently, Stefan called for them both to come over, something important coming up that they needed to talk about. After forcing her sister to buy her coffee, the Gilbert sister's finally arrived at the Salvatore house, waiting for someone to let them inside.

   The door opened within a few moments, Damon leaning in the frame with his usual smirk. "Hello, Elena. Little Gilbert."

   "Is Stefan here?" Elena got straight to the point. "He called. He said it was important."

   "Right this way." He motioned them inside, walking ahead toward the lounge.

   "Is this really important?" Audrey asked with a sigh, dumping her bag down on the couch. "Or important enough for me to be here?"

   "Rey." Elena warned, making her younger sister hold her hands up innocently. She then rose a brow at Stefan, who pulled her into a hug when he appeared. "What is this about?" Before he could answer, a female appeared in view, one that put scowls on both Elena and Audrey's faces. "You." Elena glared at Rose in distaste.

   "Okay, you have to understand I only know what I've picked up over the years and I don't know what's true and what's not true." Rose warned them, as the four gathered around to listen to what she had to say. "It's the problem with all this vampire crap but Klaus, I know he's real."

   "Who is he?" Elena asked. 

   "He's one of the originals." Damon answered. "He's a legend."

   Stefan nodded. "From the first generation of vampires."

   That made Audrey raise a brow. "Like Elijah?"

   Rose instantly shook her head. "No." She said firmly. "Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal."

   "Klaus is known to be the oldest." Stefan summarised for the girls.

   "Okay, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after us?" Elena pointed between herself and Audrey. 

   "One of you." Rose corrected, but nodded nonetheless. "But yes."

   "No." Stefan countered after. 

   ""What they're saying is." Damon cut in, looking at the female vampire. "I mean if what she's saying is true..."

   "Which it is."

   "And you're not just saying it so I don't kill you." He carried on, looking skeptical.

   "Which I'm not."
