Audrey remembered how mad she was when Elena sent Jeremy to Denver. Compelled him to leave, didn't consult her on the decision in any way. When she and Elena got to the lakehouse, she never thought she'd find herself wishing he was still in Denver. While she and Elijah were away, Caroline had kept Audrey up to date on everything, including how her brother was now a hunter of the five. They arrived to see Jeremy and Matt getting attacked by a vampire, and in that moment, Audrey wished her was still in Denver.  Because clearly, he was in more danger now then he ever was before.

After Elena killed a vampire trying to kill Matt, the three Gilbert siblings and Donovan boy got inside the lakehouse, knowing none of the vampires could follow them inside. "Sun's up." Jeremy glanced from the window to his sisters. "They're long gone."

Neither had chance to say anything, when Damon walked in, and Elena instantly stormed in front of him. "What the hell were you thinking?" She demands. "All I asked you to do was to teach him how to fight."

Damon made a face. "He's not the best student in the world."

"Really, Damon?" Audrey gave him a flat look, as she cleaned the wound on Matt's neck. "They could have died out there!"

"Audrey, you're home." He nodded, rolling his eyes slightly. "Goody."

Audrey glared harder. "This isn't funny, Damon."

He simpy rolled his eyes at her once again, his look falling back onto Elena. " Look, I know you're angry, but my way was the easiest, fastest, and safest way to complete his mark to get you the cure."

"I don't care, Damon." Elena shook her head. "Not if it means putting the people that I love in danger."

"Hey, there would have been no danger if he hadn't gone all bleeding heart." The Salvatore shot back.

"He killed someone!" Elena looked at him disbelief. "These were innocent people."

   "The mark grew, didn't it?"

In that moment, Audrey felt the strong urge to repeatedly hit Damon's head off of a wall. If she was being honest, she was ready to do it to Elena also. She expected this type of response from Damon, all her cared about was getting Elena the cure, and breaking the sire bond to see if her feelings were truly real. That was the type of person he was, the type of person he'd always be. As for her sister, she didn't fully believe what she was saying. She knew she cared about Jeremy's safety, but she also knew even when Elena claimed to want to do the right thing, people still ended up getting hurt. She could say she didn't care, but somehow, everything would still work out for her in the end. It always did.

Elena rubbed her face with her hands, sighing. "Okay. Look. We need a plan. There's a group of compelled vampires out there, and as soon as the sun goes down, they're gonna come after Matt, so we need to find a way to protect him."
