Katniss POV
He turns around, “My name is Gale. I realize it is your first day and thought you might want friend to help you get to all of your classes” he says.
“Okay that’s very nice of you but why did you have to lock me in a closet?”
“Well its a quiet place to talk”
“Well I have to get to class, it is my first day and I shouldn’t be late” I say sternly. I unlock the door when he spins me around. she pushes me, hard, against the wall and starts to kiss me. I try my hardest to push him off but he is way stronger than me. I try screaming and get a few yelps but there is no way anyone could here me. I start to lose faith when the door falls from under me and Gale topples on top of me. I fall onto my back and the air gets knocked out of me. My vision is blurred from the pain and I see a boys figure grab Gale off of me and punch him in the face knocking him out. He picks me up and I try to keep my eyes open as long as I can before blacking out.
I wake up in the nurses office and someone is sitting next to me. It takes a few seconds for my eyes to adjust when I realize it is Peeta. “What happened?” I whisper to him.
“Well, I was walking to the bathroom when I heard someone, you, yelling for help in the closet. When I opened it you fell over and Gale was laying on top off you so I picked him up and punched and when I went to help you up you had blacked out so I brought you to the nurse.” he says.
“Thank you so much. He dragged me in there after lunch and started kissing me and he was holding me so tight and I could barely scream and thought I would never be found. When you opened the door I fell on my back and it hurt so bad and had no idea what was going on. Thanks” I say and begin to sob. If anyone has had a crazy first day, mine as definitely been the craziest. He begins to comfort me when the nurse walks in letting me know that it is okay for me to go back to class. I only blacked out for about 20 minutes so I can still make it to Math class. Thankfully Peeta has it too and walks with me. I walk close to him because I have no idea where that Gale kid went or is hiding at.
He notices me looking around and says, “Hey I will make sure Gale never touches you again, I promise. I nod my head and take my seat next to him. Finnick walks in and sits with us along with Clove and Annie and they start asking me a bunch of questions about what happened last period. “Well I don’t know if you guys know this kid, his name is Gale, but-“
“Oh he is such a pig he is always making girls kiss him and will never take no for an answer” Clove says.
“Yeah he grabbed me and locked me in a closet and started kissing me but thankfully Peeta heard me yelling and helped me out but I fell on my back so I went to the nurse and now we are here.”
“Oh my gosh Katniss, that’s why you weren’t in English? I just thought you got lost or something. I am so sorry we will make sure he doesn’t come near you again.” Annie says.
“Don’t worry Katniss that will be the only and last time Gale touches you” Finnick says. Then our teacher walks in and we have to learn stuff. Then the bell rings and I walk to our drama class when I get a text. It looks like I am in a group message with everyone:
Finnick: Hey I thought it would be cool if we threw Katniss a welcome to school party! my place Friday my parents will be out for the weekend!
Annie: Sounds great! Can’t wait!
Cato: I’m down, see you guys then
Glimmer: Totally coming! SO excited!!!
Peeta: After her first week she definitely could use one of your parties Fin, can’t wait
Marvel: This should be fun, you’ll see me there
Clove: I guess if everyones going I can’t say no
Me: If the party is for me I probably should go, wouldn’t miss it
And with that we take our seats in our drama class. Our teacher walks in and announces the play for the semester. She says it’s Cinderella. WE grab the scripts and audition songs and “practice” during class. We just talk about the party.
{Time lapse: Friday at school}
It is the last period of the day, drama, and we just use it as a study hall. Everyone is so excited about tonight and I cannot wait. Clove is coming home with me to help me get ready. After the bell rings Clove drives us back to my house and I go and take a shower while she picks something out for me to wear. When I walk out she has laid out a light pink jeans with a cut out black top a sequin belt and a white cardigan with glittery heels. She sits me down and does my makeup and hair. She curls my hair and pulls it half up with a black bow. My makeup is light and natural. She wears a tight orange skirt and yellow blouse with teal heals and a white bag and sweater. Her hair is down straight and her makeup is very similar to mine. We drive to Finnick’s and get ready for a great night. We walk in and it seems we are the last ones there. Finnick greets us at the door and brings us into the other room where everyone is sitting in a circle. “You guys look great and are just in time to play truth or dare, come one” he says. Well I guess some of my secrets will come out tonight.
