I instantly turned, but what I saw shocked me to the core. Without wasting time in thinking I ran with all my attention to catch her... ... ... protect her and her baby.
Yes, as I turned, I saw Navya slipping, trying to get hold of something but got nothing and tremble. Terror, panic, fear is clearly visible in her face. While trying to get hold and slipping badly she broke the glasses kept there.

She is going to fall........
I hold her waist with my one hand and the slab with the other hand as I am too slipping and need support. We both got stable at that position only. she got relived feeling safe now.
Soon all came running.... Cabir and Manik took Navya carefully out of my hold.
" Navya r u alright, what happed u screamed?" cabir asked all worried checking if she is fine.
"are u hurt, Navya n ur baby?" I asked while she looked at me and nodded negatively.
"I'm fine,cabir. I just slipped here, thankf...." before Navya could finish.
"What the hell, Nandini? How can u be this careless? .... If u can't handle it then why the hell do u enter my kitchen" Manik screamed shooting fire at me. "u can't be careful and spilled oil on the floor, how r u even handling ur patients? ...
oh wait, ... u must be killing them and then say 'i'm sorry his condition was very critical to handle' right? ... U know what, ... ... a careless, slapdash, and sloppy person like u does not deserve to be called a doctor, who is referred to as god." he continued while all were shocked and silent.
And me, ..... I was numb at my place. I didn't move an inch. Firstly I was surprised when he screamed at me, I can understand he was worried for his sister. But ...
But then .... .... when he questioned me, my profession, my anger reached to peak. How dare he, how bloody dare he accuses me of being a killer? And what, I don't deserve to be a doctor? ... ... No one has ever talked to me like this before; none complain me being a bad doctor and he without thinking for a second, called me a bloody murdered masked as a doctor.
" what r u even saying Manik? How can u talk to her like this" mom asked in a loud tone.
"Mom u..."
"blood.... Navya r u hurt?" Mukti exclaimed looking at the blood on the floor near my feet. Everyone's face turned concerned now.
"di where r u hurt? Let's go to the doctor." Manik panicked checking Navya from top to bottom.
"no .. I'm not hurt. She caught me on time Manik. U should not say those words to her." Navya protested while Manik's face turned towards me.

"if u r not hurt Navya, then how this blood..... r u injured nandu?" Alya said turning to me.
"me ...."
I didn't know it. I mean, I am so engrossed in all this that I didn't feel any pain. I looked down and to step back I moved my right foot up.
"Aahhh..."
I held my feet with tears forming in my eyes, blood dripping from it as a broken glass piece is stuck just below my fingers. It's paining to core, like hell.
Seeing me in pain, Navya walked towards me coming out of Cabir's grip. But I showed my palm to stop her.
