warning - mention of attempted suicide

Dabi never really believed in anything after death. Perhaps reincarnation? The white flowers covering the ground surrounded him. He saw people in a line and others waking up on the ground. He looked down at his hands and when he laid his eyes on the pale skin tears welled in his eyes. He touched his face and didn't feel the rough purple skin and staples. He was normal again. He smiled a wide bright smile and jumped up almost falling to the ground in the process. He had no clue how he managed to get to this nice of a place after all the things he did, it was most likely a mistake (if mistakes were made here), so he wasn't going to question it. Golden doors sparkled in the sunlight and beckoned to him. He had to resist skipping all the way to the line where people were. There were 5 lines. A sign stood big and wide in the middle of everything. In big bold letters it said,

Please get in the line that corresponds with your death

1- death by accident (car accident, quirk, etc)

2 - intentional death (suicide)

3 - child death

4 - pro hero death (battle)

5 - other

Dabi assumes he belonged in line 5. He didn't die on accident yet he didn't die intentionally. He didn't die a child and certainly didn't have a pro hero death. He got in the line and barley waited before a purple haired girl in a white and gold dress questioned him.

"Name please."

"Dabi."

She rolled her eyes. "Real name please."

"Touya Todoroki." He mumbled. The girl wrote it down.

"You're being offered a chance to work your way up Reincarnation. Would you like to accept?"

"Yes?"

"Amazing! You're going to be assigned to number 2. Intentional death. You start working immediately. You can tell the boy already working there to go to up."

She snaps her fingers and a white toga replaces Dabi's signature jacket. Gold cuffs are attached to his wrists and ankles. The girl waves him off and he walks up to the boy at line 2. He taps his shoulder and the boy turns around.

"Go up. I got your spot."

"Yes!" He opens the door and his gold cuffs disappear from his wrists and ankles. He slides in and closes the door behind him.

Dabi quickly got used to his job. He took someone's name, then either sent them up or sent them down. Obviously up was the better part of the Afterlife. Down was the not so nice part.

If Dabi could give one message to the people of Earth it would be that gay people do not go to Hell for being gay.

He didn't know how long he would be doing this but he didn't care. Just because his life was shitty doesn't mean his Afterlife had to be as well.

Shoto woke up on a white horizon. A blue sky was above him and he realized the white horizon was flowers. He ran his finger through them. The softness of the petals surprised him. He wasn't used to soft things. He smiled to himself and stood up. He saw other people. He tried to call out but he had no voice. They were all forming lines in front of separate doors. He read the giant sign in the middle and made his way to line number 2. As he got closer to the front he saw a boy standing at the door. He had red hair and his eyes weren't visible. Golden cuffs were attached to his wrists and ankles. A white toga covered his boy. He finished the person in front of him and called out,

"Next!"

Shoto walked up to him and he didn't look up.

"Name please?"

"Shoto Todoroki."

The boys head jerks up. His turquoise eyes wild and filled with shock.

"No. Y-your supposed to be alive! You shouldn't be here!"

"Where am I?"

"You're in the Afterlife Shoto. But, you shouldn't be here. Go back. It's not to late for you."

"I don't want to."

"Please. Focus all of your energy. Focus on waking up."

"Why do you care?"

"Because, siblings take care of each other."

"Touya?"

He nods slowly. "Focus your energy."

Shoto closed his eyes and focused on waking up.

When he reopened his eyes, he was in a bright hospital room. People stood around him and sweat was beaded on some of their foreheads.

"We got him!"

There were claps and cheers but Shoto just tried to tune them out. He saw Touya. In a whole new way. As Shoto thought, it finally sunk in.

Touya was....

Dead.

Gone.

Never coming back.

But, perhaps, he will come back....

in a dream
