Talk To God

But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Matthew 6:6

Time got away from Amy that morning, and prayer seemed out of the question. Jumping in her car, she decided, I'll just pray while I drive.

As she started off, so did her prayer, but soon she got caught in traffic. Faced with the choice of having an accident or praying, she kept her mind on the road. Past the traffic, Amy turned again to prayer, only to lose track once more when she saw a SALE sign on one of her favorite stores.

Sure, you can pray while you drive- maybe you should sometimes- but if that's the only time you spend with God, you won't be giving Him your best. After all, two seconds of prayer here and a minute there can't compete with solid time when God can answer you.

If you only talked to your friends while you drove, you couldn't give them your full attention, and your communication would get mixed up. It's the same with God.

Lord, I know I can pray when I drive, but there are to many distractions to make it my prayer room. My life includes time to spend with You. Show me when it is.
