Lose Your Burden

Then I heard the voice of the LORD saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here am I. Send me!" Isaiah 6:8

Ever wish that you could rewrite that verse to say, "Here am I. Send someone else"? When you feel overloaded spiritually, even though you'd like to comply, opening yourself to full obedience to God is hard.

Maybe, you worry, if I give Him free rein, He'll send me to Timbuktu (or wherever your least-favorite place in the world is). How could I ever cope with that? you wonder.

If you're feeling overloaded, take your burden to God and confess that you've been hanging on to it. Then drop it in His hands and run! Don't stick around to pull it back out of the hands of the great burden lifter.

Then let Him lead you as you make decisions about ministries with which you're over involved, family problems that someone else needs to handle, or commitments you may not need to take on.

Pledge yourself to obedience, and walk in your new freedom. Don't let that old burden trap you again!

Send me, Lord, wherever You want me to go, I know You'll give me the strength I need.
