The Perfect Thank- You

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.           Hebrews 10:24

Church member does a favor for you- something that takes him out of his way or takes extra effort. How do you respond? can you assume that because you are fellow Christians, you don't even have to give a thank- you in return? Or do you have to give exactly as much as he gave you?

Ignoring a  brother's thoughtfulness will not spur him on to good deeds. But turning a favor into a tit-for-tat situation won't make the deed anymore pleasant, either.

When another Christian does something nice, thank her. Tell her what it meant to you. Later, if you have a chance to help her out, by all means do so. But don't make her uncomfortable by falling all over yourself to return the favor.

Instead, pass on that good deed to another. Eventually God evens up all this giving business and everyone benefits.

Lord, when a fellow Christian does a good deed for me, help me to be thankful, then humble enough to pass on the good I've received.
