What's The Purpose?

"And who knows but that you have come to royal position for such a time as this?" Esther 4:14

Esther hadn't wanted to become the wife of a pagan king and the queen of Persia. She got caught in that situation and simply tried to make the best of it.

The plots of Haman, the king's wicked advisor, against her people, the Jews, thrust her into political intrigue. When Esther's cousin, Mordecai asked her to intervene, she squirmed at the idea. Approaching the king could mean her death. Could she risk it?

Mordecai reminded her that God was still in control. Perhaps He had put her in this place to do that act. So Esther did God's will.

We know how Esther felt. Sometimes we end up in messy-even dangerous-situations we didn't bring on ourselves. We wish we'd never gotten involved. Though we went in innocently,  it's backfiring on us.

In such a situation, maybe God has a purpose for us. After all, He still controls our lives, too. All we need to do is obey.

Lord, when life gets messy, help me keep my eyes on You. I need Your wisdom to make the right choices and to do Your will.
