Aqualad x Green Lantern! Reader [Drabble]

"I see we meet again (H/N). How was space?"

You stared at him, tears in your eyes. Was this really who he was now? A villain? You could hardly believe it when Nightwing told you and even though he was in front of you now, you still couldn't believe it. You tried using your ring to create some kind of weapon but it merely flickered, you didn't have the will to fight him, the one you loved.

"Kaldur, what are you doing? This isn't you"
"Many things have happened while you were away (H/N), but I wouldn't expect you to understand"
"It's not too late Kaldur, I'm sure if you went back to the Team, explained everything to them. They'll accept you." Kaldur looked around, the area you were in was secluded with no security cameras around. He couldn't keep this from you, anyone but you.

"I can't go back, not yet" he shook his head as he began to relax.

"Why not? Answer me dammit!"

"It's ok (H/N), we're alone. I can explain everything to you. Please, just give me five minutes and you'll understand."
"You have three minutes, explanation, now" you glared at him as you leaned against some crates.

-Timeskip 3 min-

"-so as you can see, it may look like I am hurting the Team but it is under a false guise. I'm in fact working to stop the Reach and keep them from taking over this world like they've done to so many others. (H/N), I need to ask you to keep this a secret from the others. Please, just for now. Then after all this is over, we can have that movie night I promised you." Kaldur stepped towards you, your once crossed arms were now at your sides as your head was turned away from him. His hand reached for yours tenderly and as soon as you felt his touch you whirled around and slapped him in the face, hard.

"I hope this is worth it" you muttered, your eyes starting to brim with tears. Kaldur put his hands on your shoulders and pulled you in for a hug.

"To protect you my love? It always will be."
"Why didn't you tell me sooner? You know the signals I can accept on my Green Lantern ring"
"Yes, but I didn't want anyone to discover our true plans. I must go now before the others can suspect anything, can you act tired?"
"I hope this ends soon"
"Me too my love, me too. Not a single day has gone by when I haven't thought of you. I'll see you soon." Kaldur muttered before pressing a kiss to your forehead, you inadvertantly closed your eyes and when you opened them he was gone. You sighed and sat by the crates.

I'm going to have a very serious talk with Nightwing later...
