Part 71 - Hypocrite

***Arush's P. O. V***

"Arush?! What are you doing here?! At this time of the night?" Came the familiar authoritative voice, freezing me to the spot.

I gulped in horror as Reyansh came around, almost glaring at me.

"I... I .. uh... I... I uh came... Uh... Ahem... Uh to meet... Uh.. you" I stuttered as beads of sweat condensed on my forehead though a cool breeze blew through the night.

"Meet me? At this time of the night?? That too here??" Reyansh asked sceptically, and the light of the nearby street lamp illuminated his doubtful face and cocked eyebrow.

"Uh... Y...y..yeah... Yeah... Uh...uh....um... Just Tera haal puchne aaya tha bhai bas... Ok then good night" I stuttered, wiping the beads of sweat away from my face and turning to leave.

Plan to sathyanaash ho hi gaya, aur sale sahab to ab mujhi ko kachra banayenge lagta hai?!

"Bhai ruko..." Reyansh said, stopping me at my place.

I turned around to look at him as he hesitantly asked "Is there.... Is there something going on between you and my Sonu?"

I gulped audibly and for the first time ever felt so intimidated... I didn't know what to do.

Finally, taking deep calming breaths, I said "uh... Um... We're friends" and trailed off.

"Friends? Friends as in boyfriend girlfriend? Or friends as in best buds?" Reyansh asked coolly.

"She's mad at me bro I just came here to apologise" I said finally, completely dodging his question.

"I see... So you couldn't apologise over the phone?" He asked, as he crossed his arms across his chest.

Fuck!! Saale sahab... I'll get my turn one day you'll see!!

"Wait what are you doing down here?" I asked and for the first time in that night, felt powerful over Reyansh as he started stuttering.

"I....uh....I... Um... Hey it's my house I can stroll around it any time I want" he ended defiantly, though I thought I saw him wipe sweat off his forehead.

"Strolling around your own house like a thief, that too at midnight?" I asked, finally smirking at having overpowered him.

"Ugh fine... I was going to meet my girlfriend... She's mad at me and not even picking up my calls" Reyansh said, running his hand through his hair, as though he was very tensed.

"Oh?!" I said, not knowing what else to say.

Well I was here to meet his sister but poor guy has problems with his own girlfriend.... I wish I could help him out so that he'd be out of the way and I could go meet my love!

"It was rose day right and I forgot to send her a rose... I wished her 'n everything but well..." He trailed off sadly.

"Your sister is mad at me because I sent her a hundred roses" I sighed, to which he chocked.

"So you guys really are dating?!" Reyansh gasped, finally making me swear.

Fuck how could I just let it slip out of my mouth?!

"Okay don't be mad but yes... We are... dating...." I trailed off, anticipating a punch to my jaw any second now.

"I did have my suspicions... But I thought my sister would tell me... seeing how I and she are supposed to be best friends... Didn't expect her to hide such an important event of her life from me" Reyansh said sadly.

"I'm sorry but well... We didn't know how you or anybody else would react to it... So we decided to keep things quiet for a while" I said honestly.
