I wake up to Maxons arms around me, his left hand gently rubbing my growing bump.
I smile and look back at him.
He smiles. "Good morning, my dear."
"Good morning, Maxon."
"How are you feeling?"
"Fat and excited."
I'm officially four months pregnant. Today is our gender reveal party and everyone's coming to celebrate.
Baby number five is a big deal in this house. Everyone thought Osten would be the last, even me.
"You're beautiful," he tells me.
"Thanks."
I turn toward him and he pecks my lips.
I giggle and hug him.
He rubs my back and holds me close.
Our wonderful cuddles are interrupted by a knock at the door.
Maxon sighs and sits up.
He grabs his shirt and answers the door.
I watch his back as he talks to a guard.
When they're done he closes the door and comes back in.
"Everything ok?" I ask.
"Everything's fine. I have to go to a meeting during breakfast."
"Should I come?"
"No no," he quickly answers. "You watch the kids. I'll handle the meeting."
"I didn't think there was supposed to be a meeting today."
"There wasn't. There's just some things the council would like to discuss with me."
He goes over to his desk and sits.
I think about the baby while getting dressed.
I look back over at Maxon who's already starting to look stressed.
"Promise you won't be late to the reveal party?" I request.
"I promise," he swears.
"Alright. I'm going to go get the kids to breakfast then."
"I need a kiss first."
I smile and go over, giving him a kiss before leaving for breakfast.

I wipe the bits of puréed strawberry off of Osten's face.
"All better. Now let's go," I say while taking his hand.
"Where are we going?" Kaden asks.
"To get ready."
"Ready for what?"
"We're going to find out if you're going to have a baby brother or a baby sister. And everyone's coming to celebrate with us."
"Really!?"
"Yes. But we'll be late if we don't go get ready."
With that they hurriedly get up.
I smile and take the twins to their room.
I take Kaden and Osten to get dressed while Ahren and Eadlyn get themselves dressed.
Osten fusses while I try to get him in nicer clothes. I eventually give in and let him not wear his jacket.
I carry him and hold Kaden's hand as we go to the twins room.
They're ready when we get there so we go straight to the women's room.
We wouldn't normally hold events in this room since it's meant to be girls only, but we decided to bend the rules a little bit.
When I walk in my mom, May, and Gerad are finishing setting up the party room.
"Gerad! You made it!" I notice excited.
They look at me and smile.
He comes over and hugs me.
I hug him back tight.
"I'm so excited you're here," I tell him.
"I'm excited to be here. I've missed you guys."
"We've all missed you too. But we're so proud of you and happy for you."
He smiles big.
Maxon comes in and I look back at him.
He smiles when he sees me.
Before he can come over, he's ambushed by our children.
I laugh as they cling onto his legs.
"A little help?" Maxon requests.
"You'll be fine," I decline.
He gasps at me and I laugh again. Marlee and Carter come in with their two children.
"Hey!" I greet.
She comes over and hugs me.
We chat until Lucy and Aspen come.
"Ok. Reveal time," I announce.
Everyone sits on the couches around the table.
The kids come over with Maxon and I to cut the cake.
"If it's blue it's a boy and if it's pink it's a girl," I explain to them.
"What if it's pinkish blueish?" Ahren asks.
"It won't be honey."
"Unless it's twins," Maxon jokes.
"Oh don't even go there," I scold him.
He grins and I grab the knife.
Everyone waits in suspense as I cut into the cake.
