~"It's terrifying to realize, life goes on without you." -Unknown~

Marcus' POV

I started on the path I figured she would take home from school, parking at the school and walking it myself.  I walked along the sidewalk, through downtown.  It was the shortest route, she would've taken this one, right?  I stopped at every shop on the left side of the road.  I could check the right side on my way back for my car.  I asked every person I saw if they had seen Moriah.  Whenever anyone asked why, I would just reply that I was looking for her.  I didn't want any unnecessary rumors going around.

All the shops were Moriah-clear.  I sighed, sitting on a bench for a break.  I looked behind me and noticed an alley way, I hadn't noticed before.  I was hesitant at first, but decided it was at least worth a look.

It was something you would expect to find in some horror film.  People getting mugged in the creepy alley.  It was dark and frankly, scary.  I walked to the dumpster against one wall and looked down the alley, not wanting to walk any farther.  I turned to walk away but stopped dead in my tracks when I heard groaning.  I walked back to the dumpster.  Leaning up against the wall, behind the dumpster was Moriah.

Moriah's POV

My body felt numb from all the aching pain in my body.  My fingers with sticky with trying to hold in the  blood pouring out of the gashes in my skin.  I've tried to move multiple times but that just ended in more pain.  Shocks of pain would roll through my body at the slightest of movement.  Breathing was a chore itself.  I had blacked out a couple times but I had lost track at about 3 or 4.

I strained my eyes, too weak to move my head, to look at the ground around me.  I noticed the pool of blood surrounding me.  How could I still be living, I must've lost like half my blood by now.  I didn't cry.  I'm more one to cry over emotional things rather than because I got hurt.  All could do was wait, someone would come find me.  My iPhone lay on the ground five feet away from me.  From where I was sitting, I could see the screen was cracked.  I don't know if it would work, but I don't know if I can even move to reach it, let alone talk if I managed to call somebody.

They were looking for me.  Marcus would've noticed my absence by now, and surely my mom would.  It's been at least a day now.  I don't know how long I had just been laying here, but I knew if it was for much longer, I wasn't going to make it.

Another wave of pain rolled through my body and I let out a groan.

"Moriah?" I would know that voice anywhere.

My eyes fluttered open to find Marcus looking straight at with this concern clouding his beautiful blue eyes.  Before I could do anything else, I blacked out.

Marcus' POV

I could barely recognize her.  Gashes and bruises covered every inch of visible skin.  She lay in a pool of blood, red drenching her clothes and skin.  All of her limbs looked bent out of shape.  I could tell she was unconscious.  I carefully lifted her up into my arms and grabbed her iPhone that lay feet away.  I quickly dialed 911 and walked out to the bench I had occupied earlier.  I lay her down on the bench and sat down beside her, her head resting in my lap.  Her face was scrunched up in pain.  Even unconscious, she could feel the immense pain I bet she was going through.  I caressed the side of her face, willing everything to be okay.

Seconds later, the ambulance pulled up to our bench and men with a stretched jumped out and swiftly but carefully loaded her onto the ambulance.  I followed them inside.  They got to work immediately, but I couldn't watch.  I called Mrs. King and notified her of where we were and what was going on.  I couldn't tell her much though, I could barely follow what was going on and I don't think they were going to stop to catch me up on what was going on.
