German Proverb

-Sephy P.O.V-

After an hour at Sammie’s house, we were all slouched around her sofa watching Friends and drinking hot chocolate –a few people were still slightly frozen from the constant falling over!

Luckily, everyone was now talking seriously about the gig that we could play together.

‘If we are going to do it, I think we need to practise seriously every day from now, or as soon as we can,’ Sammie said.

Everyone nodded sombrely causing me to burst out laughing.

‘Sorry,’ I mumbled when they all looked at me. Aimee raised an eyebrow and Sam grinned at me. Adam and David looked away to each other then blushed and averted their eyes; they were sitting opposite each other.

‘So are you two going to write the song then?’Aimee asked, addressing Nathan and I as she cracked her knuckles.

I glanced at Nathan and watched as he scratched the back of his neck and reclined further into the sofa, his full attention on Aimee.

‘I think we can… Maybe… We’ll get together,’ Nathan looked at me then, ‘and sort something out.’

I breathed a smile as he turned back to Aimee and she nodded thoughtfully.

‘I’m getting kind of excited…’ Sam said boldly, his eyes far away.

‘Yeah, yeah, yeah,’ Sammie sighed, flicking the channel over to Scrubs. ‘Well, I’m bored, we’ve talked about this, now let’s play a game!’

‘Sammie?’ I quirked an eyebrow upwards wondering what Sammie was up to.

‘Cards! Let’s play cards! Do you have a pack Sammie?’ Sam asked, sitting up and practically vibrating on the spot.

She pouted, ‘I was thinking more along the lines of hide and seek but-’

The girls laughed as Sammie sent a quick glance in Ian’s direction. Sammie blushed furiously and glared us down to silence even though Ian remained clueless. ‘Yes I do have a pack of cards,’ Sammie grumbled, trotting off out of the door.

Everyone laughed at her and began to clamber off the sofas and once again sat in a slight circle, chatting as we waited for her.

I said nothing though; I was admiring, well, us. The atmosphere. We all suddenly had pretty close friendships with each other. I didn’t know where it had all come from, but I was glad.

‘Got ‘em!’ Sammie grinned, emerging through the door holding four separate packs of cards.

‘One wasn’t enough?’ Tony smirked.

‘Great! What games do you guys wanna play? Sam asked, ignoring Tony’s input.

I grinned at him as Sammie passed him the cards and took her place next to Ian –surprise, surprise.
