Chapter 7

Luna

 

I.. I had no idea how to react to this..

He..He told me he loved me.. He really loved me!

And then.. This happened.. I was in complete shock, I didn’t know what to do!

So.. I kinda just.. Went with it..

 

I wrapped my arms around his neck, keeping him close to me like my life depended on it. Our lips locked together as I could feel my face getting hot with blush.

And I.. I never wanted this to end..

Just being here with him.. Like this.. It made me forget everything..

Being mutant freaks.. What happened to us in the past.. Ydna’s freaking teasing…

 I didn’t care about anything anymore… Just him.. And me..

He eventually had to break the kiss and I could hear him panting and trying to catch his breath. And I knew how he felt.. My heart felt like it was gonna explode in my chest, and it seemed like I couldn’t get enough air in my lungs. I was nearly shaking..and so was he.

He was also looking at me...at my eyes...my purple eyes...and I was looking at his eyes too...they were blue...a bright blue.

And I just.. I couldn’t stop staring into his eyes.. They were so beautiful.. Almost hypnotizing.. Oh, how I wish I knew what he was thinking.. My mind was full of questions and what ifs..

 But right now.. I ignored it all..

 

Finally, he spoke. “W-Wow...that was...amazing…”

I smiled, and I knew my face was probably as red as a cherry or something..

“Y-Yeah.. It was.. I.. It kinda.. Caught me off guard..” I said, still a little shaky after what had just happened..

I managed to look at the rest of his face and realized that it was covered in red.

And.. I couldn’t help but to giggle, until I just burst into laughter. It was just so darn cute, I couldn’t help it!

I soon tried to stop, knowing I was probably making things worse. “S-Sorry..”

He sounded like he chuckled a bit as well. “It’s fine.” He said, a smile on his face. “But...we should probably head back now...before Ydna comes looking for us.” He laughed a bit at himself and extended his hand towards me. “Come on, we’ll fly back together.”

 I couldn’t help but to blush again, then slowly, I took his hand and nodded. “Together..”

He smiled and looked like he was about to take off, but then quickly pulled me up and into his arms. He was...carrying me! He smiled and took off, holding onto me.

I wrapped my arms around him, leaning my head against his shoulder. It was.. How should I say this.. Nice.. Pleasant.. I’m not sure.. I just know.. I loved being in his arms..

 It was just the two of us.. Flying through the air, and keeping close to each other.

 

If I could.. I probably would have froze this moment.. I had never been loved like this before..

And honestly.. It’s all I’ve ever wanted.. Was to be loved.. And now.. I have someone to love me.. I wanted to cry, but kept myself from doing so.

 

We soon arrived back at the house where Andy set me down so I could stand up and he opened the door. Ydna, who was on the couch, looked over and smiled, almost looking victorious, and he started clapping. Slow clapping to be precise.

“Well, well, well. Looks like the lovebirds decided to return to the nest.” He said, playfully, obviously knowing what just happened.

 Of course, my face went red again, and I tried to hide myself with my hair, which was pretty long.. I mean.. It went down almost to my chest.. Maybe I need a haircut..

Anyway, I just kept quiet, a bit embarrassed.

I could hear him say something else, too. “So how was it?”

Andy looked at him, a bit confused. “What? The confession?”

Ydna just laughed and replied. “No, I meant the kiss! Don’t try to hide it from me, I know you two did.”

W-Wait.. He knew?! How?!

I nearly freaked out.. then Andy spoke up again. “How did you know?”

  Ydna just smirked. “Because you just told me.” He said, almost laughing.

   Reverse psychology, huh? He was trying to get us to admit it without simply asking us, so he instead pretended he knew and got Andy to spill the beans. I should have known.

I wanted to slap myself so hard.. Now, Ydna not only knew we liked each other, but he also knew now that we had kissed! Sometimes I wish we hadn’t had gone and found him…

“Ydna.. Look, okay, you know now. We like each other, and we kissed. Can you please just.. Not tease us so much?” I asked, my shoulders feeling heavy along with my eyelids.. I felt super tired for some reason..

Ydna simply replied “Alright, alright, I won’t tease you guys...as much. I’m done for the day though, after all, my mission is accomplished.”

I sighed. Mission? So.. He was trying to get us to admit to each other? Greeeeaaaat..

  “Well, look.. I’m really tired, so I’m gonna start setting up the air mattress..”

Andy smiled and got the air mattress out of the box. “I’ll help you.”

I just smiled and started to help him out with it.

 Ya know.. Now that I think of it.. I think I always had feelings for him.

I mean.. We were best friends.. We had been for an entire year. And.. There were times I worried about him.. And wondered what I’d do if something bad happened to him..

I think deep down, I had always loved him.. Even if I didn’t know it myself..

We soon had the air mattress blown up, and I smiled as I lied back on it, giggling as it moved a bit like a water bed.

 

“Thanks, Andy. Ya know.. This thing is actually really comfy.” I said, just before letting loose a long yawn.

He smiled. “Well, I’m glad you like it.” He then yawned and said “Well, I should get going to bed. I’ll see you guys in the morning. Goodnight, Ydna. Goodnight, Luna.”

 I smiled and waved to him. “Goodnight, Andy. Night, Ydna!” I said cheerfully.

Though, I really wish I could’ve kissed Andy goodnight.. But I didn’t want Ydna teasing us more for it..

But of course, he had to let loose one more sentence before he went to sleep… “Goodnight, lovebirds.” He said as he yawned and pulled some covers over himself.

I simply rolled my eyes a little, smiling as I curled up, folding my wings over myself before falling asleep.

 And all I could think about was Andy..
