A Reason to Cuddle (Lucas)

You wanted to refuse.  You wished you could run away and lock yourself in a closet, but that wasn't an option.  Lucas smiled at you, waiting for you to answer.

"Um, sure," you squeaked, wishing you could have told him the truth... about how much you hated  horror movies.

But you would have hated even more to refuse his offer.  The two of you had only become a couple two weeks ago, but you had been crushing on each other for way longer.  This was the first time Lucas was coming over to your house and spending the night.  That was rare.  He always had a busy schedule.  If he was offering to watch this horror movie, you should just watch it instead of complain to do something else.

Lucas started the movie, and you grabbed the nearest pillow, hugging it tightly to your chest in case something really scary happened.  Just a few seconds into the movie, there was a jump scare, and you screamed so loud that you even scared Lucas.

He laughed at your reaction but continued focusing on the movie.  This was torture for you.  You tried your hardest to think happy thoughts.  Unicorns.  Rainbows.  NONE OF IT WAS WORKING!  

Every time there was a jump scare, you covered your eyes with the pillows and plugged your fingers in your ears to block out the sound.  There was no doubt you would not be able to sleep tonight.  The scariest part of the movie happened where the character jumped out of nowhere, and you got so scared that you clung onto Lucas's arm, burying your head in his chest.

Lucas placed his large hand on your back, trying to calm you down, and he smiled down at you as the movie ended.  You pulled away from him, your cheeks guilty with embarrassment.

"Sorry," you murmured, and he smiled.  

Without a word, he lifted you up and carried you bridal style to your bedroom, carefully setting you down on your bed.

"If you were scared, you could have just told me," Lucas mused.  He crawled into the bed with you, and you felt your cheeks heat up once more.  He wrapped his strong arms around your waist, pulling you closer until you were pressed against him.  Your shirt rode up a little, and the feeling of his hands on your bare skin sent a shock of tingles down your spine.

Lucas stared at you, fixing you with his fascinating eyes.  The scent of his cologne mixed with the fresh smell of the sheets you washed this morning was intoxicating yet calming.  

"Shhhh, it's okay.  I'm here," Lucas ran his fingers through your hair.

You snuggled closer before daring to look up at him.  You were met with his lips inches away from yours, and Lucas couldn't hold himself back.  He had kissed you before, but they way his lips smashed against yours to reassure you that he wasn't going anywhere left both of you breathless.

"I'm going to stay right here like this all night by your side," he smiled, intertwining his fingers slowly with yours.

You couldn't believe this handsome boy next to you was yours.  You may have hated horror movies, but hey, it gave you a reason to cuddle.

Question of the imagine: I actually hate horror movies.  I get SUPER SCARED!  Like I would have to sleep with all the lights on for a few nights, and I would always jump every time I hear a sound haha!  Do you guys like watching horror movies????
