Jungwoo saw you rounding the corner of the hallway, and immediately, his heart rate sped up.  His cheeks turned pink, and he felt himself stop in his tracks, unable to move.

"Jungwoo!" you waved and ran over to him.  "Are you excited for the volleyball match in gym today?"

He had totally forgot, to be honest.  Jungwoo scratched the back of his head and nodded.  "Of course."

"Too bad we're best friends, but we're on opposite teams," you sighed.  You slung an arm over his shoulder.  "Let's go!"

Jungwoo had finished changing into his gym uniform.  Everyone had to wear blue shorts and gray t-shirts, but the girls wore slightly shorter shorts.  He slipped into his knee pads and made sure his shoes were laced up properly.  The last thing he wanted to do was trip and fall and look like an idiot in front of you.  And that's when you walked out.  Your hair was tied neatly back in a ponytail.  As always, he was worried that your gym shorts were a little too short.  But your shorts were the same length as the other girls'.

"I know we're best friends, but I'm not going easy on you," you winked at him and made your way to your team's side of the net.  Lucas was on your team which was a plus since he was so tall, so it would be easy getting the ball on the other side of the net.

"Hey, dude," Lucas smirked, "you excited for today's game?"  Lucas already knew Jungwoo was whipped for you.  Everyone knew.  Except you.  You had no idea what went on inside Jungwoo's head.  But Lucas had plans to help Jungwoo out.

The volleyball game started, and you ran in your position, doing your best to save the ball and smack it over the net.  Lucas kept high-fiving you, and at the game, he pulled you into a hug, an arm around your slender waist.  He glanced over at Jungwoo before smirking at you and pulling you closer, glad your plan was working.

Jungwoo crossed under the net and gently pulled you away from Lucas, his heart leaping at the feeling of your hand in his.  "Let's go to class."

"I have to go drop something off in the art room, but I'll see you later," you assured him.

It was a week later, and Jungwoo was starting to get more and more jealous of Lucas hanging out with you.  He was also a very touchy person, and Jungwoo hated every time his arm was around your shoulders.

"You should just ask her out," Taeyong suggested at lunch.  "You really like her, and there's a chance she could like you back.  And if she doesn't like you, you should still be friends, at least."

"I'm scared that if she says no, then we'll lose our lifelong friendship," Jungwoo sighed into his salad.  "You really think I should ask her?"

Taeyong nodded.  "If you don't ask, how will you know?  I'll come with you if it helps."

Jungwoo was glad Taeyong was that nice of a friend.  He thought the sooner he asked you how you felt, the better, but he was still really nervous.  After school would be the best time do it.

After school, Jungwoo walked over to the lobby of the school where you usually waited for him, but there was a huge circle of people standing right there.  He pushed his way to the front and saw Lucas with you.

"So now that I've told you everything, will you go out with me, Y/N?" Lucas asked, shifting his eyes from you to Jungwoo, smirking.

Jungwoo felt his heart bursting, and he ran into the middle of the circle.  "Wait!  Y/N!  Before you reply, let me just tell you something.  Remember the time I fell while we were running the track, and you helped me walk to the nurse?  That was when we first became friends.  It's been years, but we've seen every side of each other and know each other so well.  I've been trying to ask you out for years, but I could never find the words."

You looked back and forth between Lucas and Jungwoo, not sure what to say and who to answer first.  And you were really flustered because there was a huge crowd of students watching you, waiting eagerly for your answer.

"Lucas, listen, I'm really sorry, but I've been crushing on Jungwoo for at least five years.  And you're honestly such an amazing friend, and I hope we can stay that way."

Lucas laughed.  "I know.  I actually set this all up so that Jungwoo would finally ask you out.  I would actually have had no idea what to do if you had said yes to me."

You playfully whacked him and turned to Jungwoo, slipping your hand into his and leading him out of the school.  It was more peaceful, now, and you could actually tell him what you wanted to.

"Jungwoo, were you being serious back there?" you asked carefully.  "This isn't like some joke or dare, right?"

"I would never hurt you that way," Jungwoo replied softly.  "I meant everything I said.  I really like you."

You stopped walking and faced him.  "Really?  ME TOO!"  You embraced him in a hug.  "It's funny how shy the two of us are.  It's scary liking someone when you're shy.  Because you never know if you'll ever find out if the person on the other side likes you back."

A/N:  This request was really fun to write!  I feel like I could relate to it super hard because I'm really outgoing with my friends, but if I like someone, I can't even talk to them because I get so shy and nervous.  How about you guys?  What do you do when you like someone and are scared to tell them?
