Taeil laughed with his other bandmates about something Mark had said.  Mark was a meme, and they loved him for it.

"Just because I'm not like 38925723947293% confident in Korean, doesn't mean I'm your muse.  You all should be jealous.  I'm a foreign swagger," Mark countered.

"Oh so sexy," Jaehyun clapped.  "I lived in America for four years man that's why-"

"I'm here," you said in a soft voice, and the boys parted for you.  "Umm, I'll be working with Johnny first.  You guys can wait on the sofas over there, as usual.  The other makeup artists should be hear shortly," you mumbled.

"What did she say?" Haechan asked Taeil, but he just shrugged in response.  He always thought he had been withdrawn, but you were the quietest person he'd ever seen.

"It's always the quiet ones people are curious about," Yuta read his mind.  "I wonder if anyone can get Y/N to open up.  That'd really be something."

"No kidding.  Noona is young, too.  Our company doesn't hire young, pretty people like her."

"It's because they don't want any distractions for us, pabo," Taeyong chuckled.  "They know she keeps to herself and wouldn't distract us.  Sometimes it's scary how invisible she is."

Taeil watched as you placed a slightly trembling hand behind Johnny's neck to keep his head steady as you applied his eyeliner.  You always did such a good job doing natural makeup on the boys, and they admired your skill.  Sometimes, it was fun to see the transformation.

"Now that's what I call a cherry bomb!" Haechan teased, and Doyoung smacked his knee to get him to be quiet.

"Whoa, noona, can you do my makeup next?" Mark raised his hand, and you smiled at the boy.

"Of course.  Come and take a seat."

"How comes you don't really talk, noona?" Mark asked, and Taeil turned his head, so he could hear your conversation.

"Umm, I can't really work and talk at the same time," you lied.  "Anyways, this is your first promotion for your 'Cherry Bomb' stage, right?  Are you nervous?"

Mark nodded.  "The rap I wrote this time around is really hard.  I'm scared I'm gonna mess it up.  Plus the choreography is only easy for Taeyong.  The rest of us had to pull a lot of all-nighters to get it right."

"Is that so?  Okay now close your lips for me, so I can put this gloss on."

The other makeup artists arrived, most of them way older than you.  They helped out with the finishing touches or doing their primer and foundation before handing them over to you.  Makeup was an art form to you, not just something slathered on a face.  It was expression, and the other artists felt the same way, which is why you all were so in tune with each other.

Taeil was the last one left, and the makeup artists were called to work on another idol group, leaving just you and Taeil in the studio while the other NCT members went on stage to practice.

"Hey, Y/N.  Do you really find it hard to work and talk at the same time?"

Your eyes widened.  Had Taeil been listening to that conversation with Mark?  Why?

"You know, you're unreasonably shy.  Like you never look at me and never speak to me, and I barely speak either."

You turned around to pick up an eyeshadow palette, and when you faced him again, you lost your footing and fell on him.  Taeil lunged forward and grabbed your waist to stop you from falling further, and you once again avoided eye contact.

"You know, you're really cute when you're flustered," Taeil noted, and you tried to open your mouth and say something multiple times, but you ended up looking like a goldfish.  "So, what's your favorite makeup style?"

Now that was something you could form a reply to.  "Umm, I really like the innocent look.  Um, you know like something bright and natural but makes your features look softer at the same time.  It's not that hard to do, and it looks so good."

"Can you do that look on me today then?  I want to look good for you," he smiled, shyly, and you blushed really hard.  Now you were the cherry bomb.

"Ummm, sure.  Let me just move this perfume out of the way and get my other palette-"  The perfume, it turned out, was not closed, and it spilled all over your shirt, leaving a strong scent of roses and lavender.  The problem was that you were wearing a white graphic tee, and after the perfume had spilled on it, it became rather see-through.

Instead of staring, Taeil shot up from his seat and ran to his duffle bag that had his practice clothes.  He handed you his large t-shirt, and you thanked him before rushing to the bathroom to change.

Taeil had to stop himself from screaming when he saw you come out of the bathroom.  His shirt was definitely too big on you, and he laughed at your attempt to stylishly tuck some of it into your sweatpants.

"Awww, you look so cute," Taeil sighed.  "Alright, let's finish my makeup, now."

You tried not to let anything distract you.  Taeil was supposed to be shy.  Why was he acting like this today?  He always looked at something on his phone or just stared in the mirror when you did his makeup.  Was he just trying to get into mood for his comeback?

"Okay, can you pout your lips for a second?  I need to put this on you."  Taeil did as you asked, and you leaned in very close with your brush, painting his lips a natural shade of pink.

Taeil couldn't hold back anymore.  He wrapped his arms around your waist and pulled you closer so that you were almost on top of him.  Your eyes were full of shock.  "Can I kiss you?  Pretty please?  I just-"

"Do it."

"What?"

"Kiss me, I mean," you said shyly, and Taeil pulled you closer until your lips bumped into each other.  He was taken aback by your dominance and the way you confidently moved your lips, forcing him to keep up with you.

"You're not shy at all, are you?  Awwww, you're so cute!" Taeil cooed.  "One more?  Pleaseeeee?"

You giggled and this time let him lead you through a gentle kiss.  When he pulled away, Taeil laughed so hard that it almost scared you.  Confused, you turned to look in the mirror, and it all made sense.

"You know, my lipstick looks better on you than it does on me.  You might wanna clean that up before you go to the audience and watch us.  Also, are you free this weekend?  I want to properly take you out?"

"Really?  Where?"

"Hmmm, about a makeup shop.  I want to try doing your makeup this time."
