'Hey.' Sephy smiled.
'Hi.' I managed to make myself sound calm. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Mel and Adam looking at us. I focused on Sephy.
'Mr. Lindsay got locked in the men's again. Had to get help for him,' she rolled her eyes.
'Haha! Oh right,' I laughed. Why was I such an idiot?
'Yup. Stupid man. I'll see you in English later?' I nodded.
'Enjoy playing basketball then.' She grinned at me.
'Sure. Sure. What are you playing?' I asked, wondering if I'd be able to see her from inside.
'Hockey,' Sephy groaned.
'Okay! Well have fun!' I laughed at her.
'I'll try,' she sighed before leaving me with a feeble wave and trotting over to Mel and Adam who seemed to be grilling her about something as her group began to make their way outside. I wondered what it was.
'I swear, you guys were not talking about the band yesterday.' David's voice came from behind me. I turned to face him and furrowed my eyebrows. 'Yes we were.'
'Really? You go really red and fidgety when Sephy talks to you, you know...' He pressed, a smirk appearing on his face.
'I don't!' I fumed. If he was right, did that mean she'd noticed?
'Okay... Pink then?'
'It's... the heat.'
'In November?'
I rolled my eyes as if to tell him to grow up. He laughed and turned back to Tony. Ian had left.
'Okay people! We have to go to the outside courts because some year 7's need the hall so, ten laps of the field for a warm up and to the outdoor courts straight away you here? No pissin’ around!' Mr. Lindsay called for all to hear. There were groans and protests to that.
'Ten! I'd like to see you do ten!' Someone shouted, A.K.A. Tony.
'Tony, shut up.' I hissed as we began to slouch towards the back doors.
'No! I'm not being forced to run ten bloody laps! Just as a warm up! Wait 'til we get started on the lesson. It gets higher every friggin' day. This isn't even a GCSE lesson, it's to keep us fit you know! I mean, some of us do football out of school and don't need this torture on top of that. If I sprained my ankle running, do you know what'd happen to me?'
'You're going to get yourself a detention...' I warned.
'If it stops us running ten laps, let him,' David laughed. I ignored him. He had a serious hate for all things sport. 'He'll be the one getting the detention anyway.'
'Right, that's it people, the warm up is now fifteen laps!' Mr. Lindsay snapped hands on hips. Both Tony and David sagged. David glared at Tony. 'And you, young man who said that,' Mr. Lindsay shouted, pointing to David, 'you can carry the basketballs!'
David started wide-eyed, 'But, it-'
‘No back chat! Now! The rest of you, get outside and start running.' Mr. Lindsay always seemed to pick on David... I rolled my eyes and smiled at Tony who'd gone a bright red colour.
'David, you idiot!' someone shouted.
David's glare was black as coal as Tony ran outside and began his laps.
'So... Seri...ously...what's...up...with...you and... Sephy...I won't...tell...Tony...' David panted between gasps of air. I looked to the field where I could see Sephy's group running. She was doing laps too, running beside Adam. Mel wasn't with them.
