1 what's the best thing about Wattpad?

The best thing about Wattpad for me is by far the people on it. In essence Wattpad is a social site, and my favorite thing to do is get to know other authors and readers. I've actually made some wonderful friends on here, and I hope to meet them in real life one day. And of course I love that this site has literally millions of free stories to read!

 2 what's a piece of advice you'd give a newcomer?

My advice for any new author is to write, write, write and not worry about editing until later. Wattpad is made to share your drafts, so no one is expecting perfection. If you wait and worry about having a perfect story, you'll never have a story at all. Someone told this to me and it really helped me to actually finish stories instead of getting stuck in an editing pit of grammar and anxiety. Just write!

3 do you have any other creative outlets?

I like to draw digitally and traditionally, even though I'm not amazingly good at it. Another (weirder) hobby of mine is cosplay; I really enjoy making props like custom fantasy teeth or sci-fi guns with all sorts of glowy bits and bobs.

4 how would you celebrate a publishing deal?

Probably scream with joy and immediately go tell my family and friends. Ice cream would certainly be involved somewhere.

5 who is your favorite author outside Wattpad?

Oh, that's an impossible question! Right now I've been reading a lot of J. K. Rowling and Agatha Christie, but my favorite authors list includes at least 100 people.

6 what's one Wattpad goal?

Have fun and become a better writer! I know that sounds corny, but I never expected to be well-known enough to have a book featured or be interviewed or anything, haha. I joined Wattpad to share my stuff and get advice on how to make it better, and that's still my goal.

7 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day,who would you choose and what would you do?

Another impossible question! There are so many people I would like to meet... I'm going to be a nerd and say Bill Nye, who taught me that science rules (I'm a Bio major now). We'd go to a natural history museum or something geeky like that, and I'd restrain myself from singing the theme song the entire time.

8 what's your daily writing routine?

This is bad but I... don't have one. I write when I feel like it, for as long as I feel like it, about what I feel like. It's unproductive, but it's more fun for me to write with inspiration instead of with a feeling that I have to. I have to be strategic with my updates so they're not as choppy and random as my writing style; I always have at least one chapter "stocked up" in case I hit another dry spell.

9 what's your favorite holiday and why?

This is a weird one, but I love Easter because it reminds me that good times are coming soon. I get to see my family and my dogs, and that gives me the push I need to make it through finals. It's a reminder that school is almost over and summer is almost here, which means I'll get to be home with the people I love. Plus, Easter chocolate is the best. I love those chocolate bunnies!

10 what inspired you to write?

Friends have always inspired me. It was a friend who introduced me to Wattpad in the first place. A different friend encouraged me to write what would be my first completed story. The co-writing I've done with friends is still my favorite story I've helped create. Friends I met on here taught me a lot about writing and inspired me to try out different genres. I'm in a Discord group with a bunch of Wattpad friends right now, and between all the jokes, they give some great writing advice and are always there with encouraging words (and memes). Thanks, guys!

11 how would you spend a rainy day?

I'd spend it under a warm blanket with dogs on my lap. That's a good way to spend any day, I think.

The story I'm currently working on, called Strange New Eyes, is really close to my heart. I've had these characters for years, and it's only now that I feel like I'm giving them the story they deserve. If you like stories about powerful girls using freaky blood magic, being literal hulking monsters, discovering cult secrets, and trying to save the world, check it out, maybe. Warning: will include sappy scenes of intense fluff because I'm sentimental as all get out.
