The few days in Ohio were... Tough. Settling in with the kids in a small apartment. The climate changes. The kids missing grandparents. Getting a new job. Jamie working double shifts. Everything was different.
Jamie got off work earlier and I was busy making bed for the kids on the floor in the living room.
"Hey."
"Hey baby."
"I'll be back."
I went to the bathroom the kids were fighting.
"What's going on?"
"Mommy Holly took my doll."
"Holly please give it back to your sister."
"No it's my doll."
"I had it first."
"No."
Holly runs out of the bathroom. "Mommy!" Dezi yells.
"Can we just get you into bed please?"
"Holly give the doll."
Holly hands me the doll and she lays in bed sulking. "Now to bed."
"Ok mommy." Dezi said with a sad voice.
"The doll stays with me till both of you can learn to share."
Both were sulking and I helped Lizzie. I got all of them in bed. "Time to pray."
"Our Father. In heaven above. I'm thankful for all you give. The love, the food, my family, And a place to live. Keep me in thy loving care. Be my guide in all I do. Bless those who love me too. Jesus I love you. Amen."
"Night girls."
"Night mommy."
I got up and walked past Jamie. "You want a doll?"
"No thank you."
"You sure? She's so pretty."
He laughs. "Rough day?"
"It's been going on like this all day."
"I'm sorry princess."
"It's fine. There's mac and cheese for you in the fridge. I'm going to take a shower and go to bed."
"Did you eat?"
"Yes."
"Ok see you in the room soon."
I took a shower and went to bed. Jamie soon joined me in the room. I was on Facebook. He took a shower too and joined me in bed.
"We need a bigger place."
"I know princess. I'm working on it."
"I know I'm sorry. It's just been hard for all of us."
"We'll work this out. We're in this together now."
"I called that guy today and he has nothing for me now. So tomorrow it's back to job hunting."
"Hey we'll get through this."
"I just don't want to be in the way with the kids and everything."
"You're not. Amber enjoys the kids here and I'm glad you are all here and safe."
"Does she? She hasn't talked to me since we are here."
