33. The Lorelai's First Day at Chilton (Season 1, Episode 2)

This very early episode is a prime example of the immaturity in both the leading characters. Lorelai oversleeping and dressing like a cowgirl for Rory's first day is pretty immature, and Rory's difficulty fitting in and accepting the fact that people (particularly Paris) don't like her, even for the time being, is pretty pathetic. Rory has spent her whole life being idolized by everyone around her, and she can't stand the thought that any one would think that she was less than perfect. This episode sees both of our Gilmore Girls acting a little immaturely, but they both have room to grow, and this episode is an excellent set up for the rest of the show.

High points: This is the first introduction to Chilton and it's characters. It's also the first time we see Emily meddling in other peoples' lives. An excellent introduction to things to come.

Low points: Surely Lorelai has something better to wear than THAT.

Best quote: "This is the last time I buy something just because it's furry!"- Lorelai
