18. The Queen's Bodyguard

Ever since his birthday, Levine started to get a little bit...how you you put it...? Open with the other squad members. He talks a little more about himself when asked to and he would sometimes go with their other stuff that they normally do.

Asking how the brothers are doing? Well, they do accept each other as brothers, but they can never get one to agree on one thing without arguing so the fighting is still on, in which Hazel can't fix every now and then.

Hazel's entered her third trimester in pregnancy and only a month later, she'll be giving birth to a baby. No one knows yet if it'll be a girl or a boy. Everyone's excited, even Levine even though he doesn't say it out loud. Yami can do it for him all he wants.

"Hey, stupid Onii-chan!" Yeah, that's what Levine calls Levi since three weeks ago and it annoys the latter every time he calls him that.

"Baka Ototo," Levi growled as the squad finished on training that day. Levine also grew stronger and not to mention having a little growth spurt. He's now a little bit taller than Levi. At least a centimeter taller and the younger brother feels really proud about it. A Centimeter Pride, the squad says, "Tch, what do you want?"

"Hange told me earlier about being a bodyguard of the queen. I'm just making sure if it's true," he said and Levi internally smirked. He knows about Levine's annoyance with the queen and he just loves seeing Levine irritated.

"Yes. You will be escorting the queen to the special trip she will be taking next week. We were planning to discuss it with you later, but that loud-mouth already told you, huh?" Levi said and he saw the irritated look on Levine's face.

"Tch, such a drag," he muttered, "Anyway. Where will this special trip Historia will be taking?"

This time, Levi didn't enjoyed the moment. He knows that this will be a big job for Levine and it might even cause trouble.

"The queen will be going to the underground."

A week has passed since then and Levine is readying himself to meet the queen in the inner wall where the castle is. For a week, he's been cursing this certain day. He just don't understand why Historia keeps on irritating him when he repeatedly told her to back off.

"Good luck in that place. Stay out of trouble," Eren said to Levine as Armin gives him a reassuring smile. They actually became his best friends in the squad and he knows more about them than the others.

"Sure. However, that is not an easy task," Levine replied and jumped up to Zorro's back, "As long as I keep my hood up."

"Have you packed everything you need?" Hange asked as she walks towards him with Levi behind her, "It will be like a four-day expedition, you know."

"You say that like he already have four expeditions," Levi said to Hange with a low growl. He seems to be in a bad mood today and it makes Levine a little bit curious.

"Relax. You'll see him again, shorty," Hange said, putting her hands on her sides with a smirk. The brothers clicked their tongues and glared at the brunette.

"I should be going now. No time for goodbyes," Levine said nodded at them for a temporary farewell and galloped away from the headquarters to the Royal Castle.

Historia is wearing casual clothing's and a hood to blend herself with the crowd she might me meeting in a few more hours. Some Garrison soldiers, together with Dot Pixis escorted her to a carriage where Levine waits with his hood up and arms crossed.
