I am not easily scared of anything or anyone. Hell! I'm a Davidson for christsakes! I didn't get the name 'Hunter Badass' for nothing! I've been in and out of jail and been to too many fist fights in my days...but when she looks at me with that dead...
"Hunter..." I breath out his name from my lips. Too shocked upon seeing him beside me.
Hunter was looking straight ahead and he looked amused with a smirk tugging on his lips then he turn his gaze at me and the smirk turn into a genuine smile. A smile that can stop my heart for seconds only to beat two times faster after.
"A-anong ginagawa mo dito?!" Nalilitong aniko sa lalaki.
"Noong una hindi ako makapaniwala na aalis ka, pagkatapos mo akong pagsamantalahan?! Totoo ba iyong mga sinabi mo kagabi o sinabi mo lang 'yon para makuha mo ako? Hannah, katawan ko lang ba talaga ang habol mo sa akin?" I can sense that he is joking but for him to joke around my feelings is too much. Tears started rolling down my cheeks and my wails was unladylike to a point that all passengers looked at us with concerns on their faces.
Nakita ko namang nataranta si Hunter at hindi niya alam ang gagawin niya. Pinagtitinginan na kami ng ibang pasahero at may papalapit na ding stewardess sa amin.
"Hannah... sorry! I was just kidding! Hey... baby...tahan na! I love you! I'm sorry okay?!" Ani Hunter habang tarantang pinapahid ang luha sa mata ko. Hinampas ko ng malakas na malakas ang braso niya at tinignan siya ng masama.
"Paano mong nasasabi 'yan kung may pakakasalan kang iba?!" Galit na bulyaw ko sa kanya. Nagbulong-bulungan ang mga nasa paligid namin sa sinabi ko, halatang nakikiusyoso sila. Pero hindi natinag si Hunter at ngumiti pa din siya sa akin. Ngiti na ubod tamis.
How can this guy smile like an idiot when he is hurting me with his words!
Pinagsasampal ko na ang mga braso niya sa sobrang inis habang iyak ako ng iyak. I'm too hurt and I don't care if I'm creating a rucuos in the plane.
"Ouch! Baby! Tama na! Kahit kelan talaga napakamapanakit mo!" Ani Hunter sabay yakap sa akin para matigil ang kamay ko sa paghampas. Hunter is still smiling down on me.
"Baby, do you really love me?" Malambing na tanong nito sa akin. I looked up to his smiling face, his eyes held so much joy and he look expectant of my answer and I can't help but nod my head and bury my face to his chest.
"Yes. I really do." I breathed out. Lalong humigpit ang yakap sa akin ni Hunter. He released a contented sigh and I felt him kiss the top of my head.
"Baby, Anna is just a friend, she's as of this moment, already married. I just let you think that she's my fiancee because I don't want to look like I didn't move on from you, which is the fvcking truth! I can't move on from you! I love youthen and I still love you now, my baby bird! Kung may papakasalan man ako, ikaw lang 'yon! Kaya..." pagkatapos ay tumayo siya at itinayo niya din ako. Tulala lang ako ng hatakin niya ako sa gitna ng aisle ng eroplano.
Tumatakbo lang sa isip ko ang sinabi nyiyang hindi naman niya fiancee si Anna. Ginamit niya lang ito para hindi ito magmukhang hindi naka-move on!
Damn! If that is true then I am crying over nothing. Then and now Hunter still loves me! Only me!
Every passenger in that plane were looking at us with their curious set of eyes, some are even grinning from ear to ear.
"Hunt.. what are you doing?!" Nagtataka ako na pareho kaming nakatayo sa gitna ng aisle ng eroplano. He only gave me a reasurring smile.
Natutop ko ang bibig ko at nanlaki ang mata ko ng biglang lumuhod sa harapan ko si Hunter at may inilabas siyang maliit na box sa kanyang bulsa.
He is smiling from ear to ear ng ilahad niya iyon sa harapan ko. At sa gitna ng himpapawid, with plane passengers as our witnesses, I finally realize what Hunter is doing. My tears started running on my cheeks again but this time I know it is not from sadness, not from heartaches, not from jealousy... but in blissful joy.
"Baby, Hindi ko na ito mapapatagal pa. Being without you makes my life miserable and pointless. And now that we are feeling the same way about each other, I can't hold back anymore. Hindi mo alam kung gaano mo ako pinaligaya sa mga narinig ko sa'yo kagabi. Alam ko masyado pang maaga pero... Could you jump in with me on this? I swear I will catch you if you fall. Because I myself, have fallen deeply and madly in love with you! I love you as deep as the ocean that we jump into. I love you as high as the heavens that we sky-dived into. Loving you made me reached heaven on earth!" His words made me cry even harder.
"I wanted to propose to you over dinner tonight but found you gone when I returned for lunch. I called Dina and she told me you're leaving and you have a flight tonight. Akala ko tinatakasan mo nanaman ako o baka pinapaasa mo nanaman ako. Pero I realized I never get to tell you how I feel. I should have said I love you too to you last night, but I was overwelhmed. I was so overwhelmed that I'm uncertain if everything is real or I was only dreaming or drunkenly hallucinating." He grinned at me and all I can do is gawked at him.
"But when I woke up next to you...all I can think of is to make you mine forever. I went looking for a ring,l. Sorry, natagalan ang paghahanap ko. I wanted a ring as perfect as you but then I realize nothing compares to you. So I found something that can be meaningful to us." He said and I gasped when he finally opened the box. There lies in a beautiful ring with a big diamond on its center and a band that has a design of a feather. It looks so devine and pretty that I can't take my eyes off it.
"I love you Hannah, my thrill seeking, always flying baby bird. I find it fitting to propose to you while we are on the air so baby, will you marry me?" He said and with tears still pouring on my face and feeling overwhelm with everything. I nodded my head and breath out a yes.
Hunter quickly put the ring on as I heard cheers and endless clapping all around us. He enveloped me in his arms and I know I felt blissfully happy in his arms.
"I love you baby bird!" He said as he kiss me on the lips. We were smiling at each other while kissing.
"I love you too big bird!" I answered in my teasing voice.
Hunter laughed aloud and then lifted me off my feet and turned me around when we heard a flight stewardess stopping us.
"Sir, Ma'am... congratulation but can I advise you to please return to your seats." Anas ng stewardess na tinawanan naming dalawa at ng iba pang pasahero. May tumawag pang KJ raw ang stewardess pero naiintinhan kong gumagawa na kami ng eksena sa eroplano kaya hinatak ko na lang si Hunter at muli kaming naupo.
Binati pa kami ng congratulations ng mga nasa likod at unahan naming upuan. And when finally the rocuous we created died down. Hunter and I was mindless of everybody around us as we kiss each other endlessly.
A kiss of a promise of a life full of love.
