It's so weird that people my age think they're going to be together forever. You don't just love someone by talking to them for a week, and you can't expect something built on that to last more than a month.
It could be college, it could be kids, it could be marriage or even the possibility of it that tears you apart... and you have to be prepared for that. You can't just live in a dream world where everything is fine and there are no problems. The world doesn't work like that, no matter how much we want it to.
So, because I'm your friend, I need to be blunt here. It's just the honeymoon phase. It all feels magical and wonderful now, but soon you'll start realizing just how hard it is. Everything about love is hard, even when you only think you're in it.
Because I'm not sure you really know what love means. Love is accepting that at any given point in time, you would bare your soul to this person. They are the first person you want to see in the morning and the last at night. Love is knowing that this person is the person you want to spend the rest of your life with.
Are you really ready for the rest of your life?
